Birthdays are fun, but sometimes, it's worth remembering things along the way, too. If there's one thing that binds all of us, it's a love of games and, ostensibly, digital Stuff along the way. Whether it's other videogames, being able to make friends on forums, chatting instantly with friends around the world - clearly, there's something there that we all share. I think that's great, and I think these Porygons probably would too - after all, they're made of data, so I'm sure that knowing their existence has just as much an impact on you as something in the "real" would would be just swell.

For this game, I want you to share a memory dealing with technology in some way that makes you happy. Whether it's the memory of curling up under your blanket pretending to sleep while playing, well, Pokémon on a Gameboy to building your first computer to building your first Neopets profile to screeching at friends in a friendslop game: if it gives you a warm fuzzy, then it's free game.

I'll pick winners ... somehow. Either half favorite and half raffle, or full raffle. Make sure to post the preference code so I know what you'd want!

Your memory: honestly one of the nicest memories is with my husband during covid we had gotten ticket to trans Siberian orchestra pretty much every year. it's like a tradition as that was a date we had when we were dating and after that for Christmas his parents would get us tickets as a quick gift for the pair of us. anyway during covid we couldn't' see the show due the virus. so they held an online performance and honestly were we live the internet isn't great during storms and it was going to storm that day. but my husband surprised me by setting up the house all nice and cozy with Christmas theming. brought out my papasan chair and made it into a big nest and when the show cut off due to internet thanks to the weather he just flipped on the old cd we had of TOS and we just cuddled and had a great night as we remembered past performances with the cd even if we missed the show that year.

Your memory: Honestly, my happiest tech memory would just be the ability to have and hang out with friends for a length of time that wasn't dependent on where I lived. As an Army brat, we moved every few years, and growing up, there wasn't a sure fire way to stay in touch with anyone in another state until I was about 15. That's when we moved to NJ. So people in NJ are some of my longest running friendships, but there are a few who outlasted even that because I met them online. My mom used to tell me online friends weren't real friends, and I think she did it so that I wouldn't rely on anyone online or fall prey to anyone. I like to think that way, anyway. Because my online friends were one of the biggest reasons I was able to deal with both my mom's and my dad's passing. You guys are always around, so I don't feel nearly as alone as I used to. I love all of you for that, and they are some of my brightest memories, and biggest ones in relation to tech/games/online data.
