Here is a guide to all the current morphs within Everchange. Morphs are edits considered commonplace within Everchange. Within lore, they are consistent edits to a pony that can be seen in multiple societies and are not stuck to bloodline or family. For shop purposes, they're templates that can be used to change the appearance of a pony that is not considered a curiosity and are readily available to shop use.

The vampire morph is the oldest documented morph within Everchange, dating back to the beginning of pony civilization as the result of a virus. While the exact cause of the ailment is unknown, those afflicted could spread the disease to others through direct saliva-to-blood contact, making their dietary needs for blood far more dangerous than just a sore neck. Since their introduction into the world, Everchange has established a series of strict laws forbidding vampires from consuming the blood of others without consent and, in addition, created blood banks for vampires to visit for medically and ethically sourced blood without a cost.

Aside from their taste for blood, vampires differ from other ponies by possessing two sharp and curved fangs for piercing flesh, and bite marks on their neck (regardless if turned into a vampire or born as one -- magic is weird). They have a direct aversion to sunlight, and while it won't necessarily kill them, it'll give them horrific migraines, render them almost blind until they find shade, dilute their powers for a time, and cause lethargy and irritation of both the body and mind.

The need for blood is a dietary necessity for vampires and both replace and mimics the required amount of water a standard pony needs in a day (32 oz). Unlike typical ponies, vampires cannot acquire nutrients any other way -- they can eat normal food, but it does not provide nourishment for their kind (and some vampires even feel sick after doing so). While vampires can bite ponies and consume their blood, legally they are required to have a registration with the Seasonal Bloodbanks system once their fangs grow and acquire their meals from there if they do not have a consenting donor (which is also registered at the bloodbanks, for safety purposes). Breaking this law results in immediate imprisonment. Vampires do not typically lose their sense of reality when hungry or go "feral", although some could certainly try to claim so and will find no pity from the government.

It should go without saying why the government is so protective of the rights between a vampire and a donor, as vampires can actually convert ponies. The chance for conversion is abysmally small already, but it's still there! Standard ponies (including mystics and hybrids) have less than a 1/1000 chance of their bite infecting whomever they're biting, while ascended ponies (Alicorn/Awakened) have a slightly higher chance. Regardless, the infection is incredibly painful once it takes and manifests in different forms of agony for up to a weeks time before the affected pony finds themselves turned into a vampire.

Vampires benefit from the ability to turn into a standard-sized bat at any given moment and retain that form for as long as they wish. This ability will not be depicted on art.

Lastly, vampires have heightened senses. Their hearing, smell, taste, vision, and even sense of touch are stronger than average.

Important Note: Ponies created without the vampire morph cannot turn into a vampire over time. There is no plan for a system to turn non-vampire ponies into a vampire. However, any Gen 1 pony that has the morph can decide if they were born as a vampire or if another vampire turned them, and even backstory plot that a shop pony was the one to change them (with consent between all owners, of course!).

Additionally, all vampires going forward will have neck bites, even Gen 2+ ponies.
