General information about Battling
  • Battles are a way that dragons resolve conflicts among one another, some battle to get stronger, others will physically hunt creatures to protect the lands.
  • Young adults and Adults are the only ones who can battle.
  • Most Faun and Fodder cannot attack, but they can help a dragon in battle or in quests. Frilled Lizards are exceptions.
  • Multiple dragons or creatures can be in a fight.
  • When attacking you must state which attack you are using when you roll 1d20 to attack, and who you are attacking if there are multiple creatures in the battle.
  • A success on an attack is based on if you match or beat the AC (Armor Class) of your opponent. For those attacks that have a limit on the number you can use them in battle that slot is used even if you fail to hit your opponent with it.
  • Rolling a Natural 1 on your attack is a critical failure and you end up doing half of the damage of your initial attack upon yourself.
  • Rolling a Natural 20 on your attack is an automatic hit. 20's cannot be dodged or defended by opponents, critical hits do x2 damage to your opponent.
  • Each dragon and Faun have their own starting stats which can be improved by titles or Items.
  • Fodder stats cannot be improved.
  • To determine turn order in a battle everyone needs to roll 1d100, the highest number goes first and so forth. Staff will roll for entering beasts if encountered.
  • The first post of a battle or a quest that leads to a battle must have the listed characters for that battle, along with each individual's stats and titles along with their effects.

Turns

Every post is considered a turn. There are several options to chose from to do on your turn. Each turn may only consist of one of these options below. The only exception is that there are some titles may allow you to do two things per turn.
  • Basic Attack: A basic attack can consist of anything that is non magical in nature, such as using ones tail, claws or wings to attack. With these attacks you can be as creative as you wish when rping them. Basic attacks are unlimited in nature and one can use a basic attack as many times as one wishes in battle
  • Breath Attack: A breath attack uses one magical breath to attack your opponent, The only exception to this is the Light dragon. The light dragon's breath is a healing move and will heal an ally or self for 50hp when used by a young adults and 150hp when used by adults. Breath attacks can only be used 1 per every horn a dragon has. So if a dragon has 2 horns that dragon can use their breath attack twice per battle.
  • Spells: Adult dragons can use spells to attack but not all spells that dragons can learn are combative spells. To know if your spell is a combative spell you need to check the spell info to see if they do damage, or do some sort of support in battles (ex: raise AC, hold enemies ect). Adult dragons may use 1 spell per battle for every two horns. If a dragon has one functioning horn it takes them 2 turns to cast a spell.
  • Dodge/Defend: Once per battle a dragon may decide if they want to dodge or defend against an opponents attack. Using this causes you to only take half the amount of damage you initially would have taken. You cannot use this if your opponent has rolled a Natural 20.
  • Observe to Defend: You may observe your opponent on your turn rather then attacking. This will add a temporary 2 to your AC for your opponents next attack. This can only be used once per battle
  • Observe to Attack: You may observe your opponent on your turn rather then attacking, as you search for an opening. This will add 2 to your attack die for your next attack. This may only be used once per battle.
  • Using a Potion: Using a potion either to heal ones self or boost your stats for that battle takes up a turn. You may use as many potions as you have when the battle starts, meaning if you acquire a potion while your battle is still going on you cannot use that potion in that battle.

Helping in Battles:
Faun and Fodder can help dragons in battles by assisting them in attacking or defending. On a Faun or Fodder's turn in the battle they can chose to help attack or defend.
Not all fodder are suited for battle and thus cannot use these tactics.
These Fodder Cannot Fight: Sheep and Chicken.

Helping to attack will give the dragon a +1 to the dragon's next attack roll
Helping to defend will give the dragon +1 temporary AC against the next attack towards it.
Frilled Lizards can fight on their own.
