Character Overview: Haoyu is a sharp, convicted man who is both extremely persuasive and highly abrasive, depending on how agreeable you are to him. He is firmly set in his beliefs and has little interest in deviating from the path he's set on in his life.

Three Strengths:
- Level-headed - Even in times of high stress or conflict, Haoyu is generally capable of keeping his cool, able to retain his wits even when under threat or duress.
- Dedicated - Raised in a household that expected him to take care of any duties without question, Haoyu has learned to be steadfast when working on tasks or projects. He rarely complains and will stubbornly strive to complete anything he starts.
- Pursuasive - Despite his ability to be an ass to those he dislikes, Haoyu knows how to be quite pursuasive, having learned to note others' behaviors and appeal to their sensibilities to turn them to his way of thinking.
- Manipulative - Getting what he wants or what he believes is right is far more important than anyone else's feelings, and Haoyu has no problems using his charm and knowledge to use someone else when it benefits his goals.
- Dismissive - When someone proves distasteful and not useful, Haoyu has no problem dropping them like a cracked geodude. He has little problem making his opinions known as well, dismissing these people as useless, unknowledgable, or even antagonistic at any opportunity.
- Vain - Haoyu's major weakpoint when dealing with others is his vanity. It is easy for others to get in his graces by kowtowing to his pride over his appearance, and one of the few ways to ruffle his feathers is to call its quality into question.
History:
Haoyu is from a highly traditional family in the Sinnoh region, with he himself hailing from Celestic. He was raised in a sect of Arceus-worshipping individuals who follow rather strict tenets about life. While they are not many, they are clearly defined rules that the faithful believe must be followed unless one's soul is to be devoured by Giratina after death. These mostly revolve around how individuals must behave, placing expectations on them correlating to which aspect of the Creator - that is, Arceus - they favor.
Haoyu is not exactly what one would call an expert pokémon trainer by any means, nor is he the sort to go tromping around the woods looking for adventure... but a new settlement means opportunities to gain a foothold in the world somewhere outside of his home. Something about the idea of spreading his faith to a newly developing region quite obviously appeals to his sense of pride, and he's willing to step out of his comfort zone in pursuit of this missionary dream.
I am not writing the tenets of his belief here, but I'll put it in his journal or something lol. It's nothing that goes against shop/site rules.
