Character Overview:

Desi is outgoing in the sense that they like to talk to new people and love to learn things about them. They ask tons of questions to learn what they're interested in. While they try to be considerate, sometimes these questions might not be the most conservative. Desi's put their foot in their mouth more times than they can remember and they're not quite sure how.

They're more than willing to take charge of new projects or group activities and make decisive decisions. Yet their impulsive nature leads to many situations that could have been prevented if they had taken the time to think a bit longer. They aren't the type to hold grudges, and while they love learning about others, they have a hard time determining their friendships with others.

Three Strengths:

• Inquisitive (nosy): Desi loves to know the latest gossip. They ask questions and listen intently to people's answers. It means they get a lot of knowledge about people that they can use to help out. They also don't actually share any of the negative things they might learn about anyone. If they learn something positive, and the person doesn't mind that being shared, they will share those tidbits gladly.

• Takes charge: Desi doesn't just take over things that they participate in, but if people are waffling about decisions or destinations, they step up to get things done. The same applies to group projects or meals. Desi will gladly take control if it helps out and she doesn't mind being the leader.

• Forgiving: Desi couldn't hold a grudge even if she tried. It's too much willpower and holding on to things to keep that anger when they could use it for something much more productive. While they might be miffed for a bit, within the hour they've forgiven the other party, especially for accidents or unintended consequences. Thus far, nobody they've known has done anything that would need them to rethink this.

Three Flaws:

• Social disconnect - (hard to tell friendship levels with people) Desi acts friendly and tries their best to reach out to people and connect with them. They feel sometimes that these attempts might not ever actually reach the other person. They have a hard time telling between someone being friendly and someone reacting in kind with friendship, even with asking the other person their feelings. It's something they've had to try and work on most of their life.

• Foot in mouth syndrome: Desi suffers from this way too often for their comfort. They try to think things through so that what they mean doesn't come off the wrong way, but more often than not they're left wondering what they should have said instead. Sometimes all that's left to do is apologize and hope the other party forgives them.

• Impulsive: Whether it be purchases or snap decisions, Desi has a hard time resting their urges. It's how they ended up with so many pokemon before and why they end up with more trinkets than their room can possibly hold. On occasion it's turned out well, like an attempt at a pen pal turning to a deep friendship, but it's also been known to backfire on them, like too many pokemon to fit in their home.

History:

Desi grew up in Cascarrafa town in the Paldea region. Her home life was great, two loving parents, and a couple siblings. Both her parents pokemon teams were great with children and more than happy to play with the trio of them. While they weren't rich, Desi never really felt a lack of anything.

With the variety of biomes around their hometown, Desi was more than happy to explore all their differences before being sent off to school. They loved learning, and loved catching pokemon even more. "Gotta catch em all" became more than a saying, it became Desi's goal. One or two of every pokemon? They are on it! Scouring the world in search of different pokemon species the moment they got the go ahead. And they did it, slowly catching one of everything, and filling their house with more and more pokemon. It got to the point that the local authorities had to get involved to check that all the pokemon were getting cared for.

Unfortunately, they decided that Desi wouldn't be able to care for the amount of pokemon they had and rehomed a vast majority of them. Dispirited, they traveled to a different region to try and do the same. And it worked. They caught all the different pokemon types they could get their hands on. It was so rewarding to have so many and have caught all of them themself. Only to have the cycle repeat and be relieved of most of their pokemon. They went through several of the regions doing this same cycle before they heard about Nauwill. Excited to see how many pokemon they could discover here, they came as fast as they could.
