Character Name: Kat Sterling

Personality Overview:
Daughter of a former Gym Leader and Contest Champion, Kat has always been in the eye of the public. She is well known in her region as a talented fire/dark/fairy trainer and on the stage as the contestant "Angel" where she uses a combination of fairy and fire moves to demonstrate the beauty of the flame.
Her personality is a chaotic mashup of these two polar opposite characters....impulsive but careful...harsh yet kind. While she never shys away from a challenge Kat is not the type of person to be tied down for an extended period of time. She has a track record of being very successful yet non-committing. Beyond her family and her bond with her pokemon, freedom is Kat's highest priority and being a master would mean giving all that up. She is currently on quest of discovery through Nauwill to find out who she truly is when world isn't watching her and in that sense hopefully find something worth finishing once she starts.

Strengths:
Independent - Kat has always been self reliant. Everything from costume designing to pokemon training has always been done in house. This is not to say she doesn't trust other people just seems better to do everything by your own hands. If you have all the skills then your not reliant on other people to succeed. It also helps when your traveling to be able to cook all your own meals, thats a bonus. When she is on the stage or standing in the middle of an arena the only person she has is herself and her pokemon need a strong independent trainer.
Prepared - Competitor change their team last minute? Bike randomly get a flat tire?! Worry not because Kat is always ready to roll with the punches. Her critical thinking skills helps her to be adaptable in battles. With the knowledge of multiple training and strategy books on your side you cannot lose! She always has at least one back up plan for every situation and if she doesn't usually something in her bag can be used to improvise. Rule #1 always bring tape.
Stage Presence - if there is one thing Kat does well it is grabbing the center of attention and keeping it.
Weaknesses:
Free Spirit - Kat loves the thrill of a challenge and any system that has a way she can win but when it comes to commitments she is less likely to follow through. Being able to do what she wants and go whenever her gut takes her has always been a top priority for Kat. The idea of being stuck somewhere with people constantly telling her what she is allowed to do wth her time is a worst case scenario in her mind. Being a master or leader with a bunch of people relying her on would mean kissing all that freedom goodbye so one should think twice before sticking Kat with the big responsibilities.
Anti-people person: Having two successful parents followed up by a career of your own means there is always someone who wants your attention for the wrong reasons. Even since some of her battles went viral Kat has had tons of fans but also a lot of people who wanted her as a influencer. She hadn't really met people who wanted to talk to her as a normal person. Because of all this Kat's social skills are lacking.. her normal person skills at least. Putting on a stage face is easy, everyone loves a big show personality but how can you expect people to like you for who you are when your not even sure who that is yourself? Pokemon on the other hand wont judge your choices or stalk you on social media or expect you to always have "words of advice" for anyone who asks. Kat likes pokemon better than people.
Weakness 3:
History:
Kat grew up as a daddy's girl taking up his love of battling and powerful fire type moves.
Her first pokemon was a vulpix which over the course of the champion tournament evolved into a Ninetails. Kat however had no intentions of becoming the champion and bowed out to give her friend and fellow competitor a shot at the title. Despite this Kat was still a respected battler due to her track record and her father's status. She was offered a place at Galar Fire Gym as one of their trainers.
As she got older she cared less for the thrill of battle which was slowly becoming repetitive for her. Kat instead turned her attention turns the local Contest circuit which had taken the region by storm after the crowning of the newest Galar Champion. Her mother had commented on the contents when they would appear on the tv and would often watch them with the pokemon they were babysitting.
While cleaning the attic she had come across her mom's old contest ribbions which was quite the extensive collection. Kat would later enter the contest circuit under her mother's old alias (and her given middle name) Angel. Kat Sterling and Angel Sterling were two halves of the same coin.. one rough and determined while the other was more soft spoken and agile. It was rumored at one point due to the contrasting personalities that the Sterling family in fact had twin daughters. Whether on the field or on the stage Kat always managed to put on a good show for the crowds.
After gaining fame in the contest area for her use of flamethrower and fairy wind to create a fiery pink tornado Kat found herself on the edge of championship again and despite her drive to win she did not want to be stuck in a representative role. When the invitation arrived at the door, she simply decided she wouldn't show. No attendance meant no chance that she could be crowned.
Some time pasted and an opportunity arose to explore a new region and looking to find what part she played in the grand scheme Kat decided this was as good a place to find it. It was unlikely that anyone there would know who her family was or what she had accomplished. Unfortunately this would mean leaving her pokemon behind for now but she had to take the leap of faith and hopefully come out whole again on the otherside.
