Personality Overview: Toshiro grew up as a rather laid back and calm child. But he has a temper when he needs to. Hes's kind and thoughtful, and loyal to a fault. He was best friends with Thrud growing up and he has a strong bond with his pokemon. He is very smart and loves to just watch till he has anything to say about the goings on around him, he watches and learns and does not tend to make the same mistake twice.
Five Likes: sword fighting, martial arts, painting, cooking and yoga
Five Dislikes: alcohol, bananas, swimming, heights and rude/ignorant people
Hobbies: painting and physical training-usually in the form of sword work and martial arts.
Three Strengths:
Loyal: He did not grow up with family, he grew up in an orphanage and got to choose his family. So, with that in mind he is loyal to those who are his chosen family.
Honest: while he looks like he's probably just a big jock who likes to fight and look good, he's actually very smart. And while he doesn't speak often it's because he chooses his words carefully and makes sure they hold an honest meaning to them. He also does not pull punches if he thinks someone needs to hear the truth.
Passionate: while this does not mean a romantic passion, he is passionate about his hobbies, his interests and his friends (This includes pokemon as he considers them a hobby and family). He puts everything he can into the things he loves and is interested in, and yes sometimes that's a relationship but he is not often romantically driven. Learning more about the things that bring him joy is his passion.
Three Flaws:
Brutally Honesty: While being honest is often a good thing, sometimes he can be too honest to the point where he tends to hurt people's feelings and might say something that would have been best left unsaid. He doesn't think there's anything wrong with this personally but some of those close to him, or those that meet him and don't know what to expect might be off put about his honesty.
Temper: While he comes off as calm more often than not, he does have a temper that has gotten him in trouble more often than not. He has been in and out of police stations in trouble before he found his outlet in sword fighting and martial arts. If not for this outlet he likely would have been in jail in his teens.
Indifferent: He might be loyal but growing up going in and out of adopted families and then being brought back and passed around to families that did not know how to handle him as a young age lead to him coming off as indifferent to people who want him or try to show affection. He can come off a little like a man whore cause of this when he moves from one relationship to another when he is through with someone or feels like they do not want to be in the relationship anymore, if he thinks they are done then so is he.
History:
Toshiro's family died in a car accident when he was 3 and he was put into the orphanage. He had no family that could be found to take him so he was sent off. He made friends with Thrud around the age of 6 when she started having issues with some of the other stronger and meaner kids in the orphanage. He then started giving into his anger while defending his new friend from the bullies and that started getting him into trouble. He was starting fights at school and all-around different parts of the orphanage. He started breaking things in his anger and frustration as families kept not wanting to keep him and couldn't handle his constant need to fight at a young age. Around the age of 12 when he came back from the most recent family that had tried to take him in, only to have the cops bring him home after a fight covered in blood and with a broken hand, Thrud got it through to him that the needed another outlet for his anger and introduced him to the master who was teaching her discipline and martial arts. He found interest in this and passion for something that he enjoyed more then hurting people. As he learned about this he eventually picked up sword play and started practicing with daggers and katanas and learning how to care for blades and how to professionally enter tournaments for Kendo. He started to learn to become a pokemon trainer too.
When he was about 16 he was training with his Growlith in the forest just outside of the orphanage, working on dodge rolls and avoiding attacks, when they startled a sleeping Ursaring and it attacked them. His growlith got very injured and he ran to grab the injured pokemon as the larger pokemon went to bite his downed one, and he took the bite instead, leaving a rather permanent scar on his shoulder from the sharp teeth of the bear like pokemon. He holds nothing against the pokemon as they had startled it, but he does not do well when around bear like pokemon any more after this. He is a little weaker with throwing with his left arm cause of this, but he stays active enough that he tries not to show it.
