Theo headed out into the grasslands with Wallie and Mal. He had wanted out of his tech closet for a bit of sunshine so he signed up for a nice little jaunt out in the fresh air. Plus it would do his Pokémon some good to get some exercise.

From your current vantage point, you can see several pokémon foraging at the edge of the beach. The grass affords you quite a bit of camouflage, and you could probably sneak up on one of them if you were very quiet... Optional. On failure, roll a normal Wild Battle. On success, roll a Wild Battle, but the opposing pokémon automatically has a 0 for their initiative roll and also loses their first turn.

Theo decided to try and sneak out to surprise the pokemon for a battle after all it would be good exercise for Mal who was always so timid. Gently pulling out the pokeball he let his partner out and pointed him toward the pokemon at the beach. Mal seemed a bit scared but after some quite petting Theo tried agian and the pair snuck toward the wild pokemon.

Pidove looses it's first turn due to sneak up meaning trainer turn

Theo didn't expect Mal to hit it so hard! Really the Bulbasaur could pack a punch if it wanted to apparently. Fumbling with his bag he dug out a research ball to toss it at the Pidove. He took aim and tossed the pokeball at the wild pokemon hoping to catch it.

Theo moved and picked up the pokeball and smiled at Mal. That really wasn't nearly as bad as he thought it would be for a first battle with Mal. "Nicely done buddy." He patted his little partner before he decided to check around and see what else he could find on his little outing.

Venturing near the coast, you notice a rather deep crag with some strangely bright clusters on the edges. If you want, you or one of your pokémon could try to grab some for the research team. Optional roll. Automatic success if you have a flying type pokémon with 1 or more HP. On failure, -2 HP to whoever the roll was made with. On success, gain +1 Flower Bunch?.

Pulling out Firewall to work with he looked a the torchic. Would it really go grab that cluster? He didn't know. "Ok Wallie. I'm gonna need you to go grab bunch." It didn't seem like it was going to listen as relaxed as it was but after a bit the pokemon hopped down to try and get into the crag and snag and the bunch.

Having watched Firewall get hurt trying to grab the bunch he held and petted the torchic feeling that the bunch wasn't really worth going after. One large smack to the small chick mad him worried for his little blue friend. He had a soft spot for small pokemon.

He then after taking time to sooth the pokemon and make sure they didn't have to go back got ready to try and explore more of the grasslands

You stumble unwittingly into a patch of briars hidden in the tall grass. You can try and extricate yourself carefully or just rip your way out, but you've got to do something to get out of the thorny mess. On success, -1 HP. On failure, -2 HP.

Having still been distracted worring over his feathered friend he stumbled into the briars. Cursing loudly he carefully picked briars from his coat trying to slowly take his time and get himself out in preferably one piece.

Well this outing was turning sour fast. Firewall was now fairly ragged so he was going to have to keep an eye on that. and it was a painful sting to his pride thinking his Pokémon could do anything. He still had a few briar barbs stuck in his pants and coat. Still he thought he would give the day a bit more for his outing.

You come across a dip in the terrain near the meeting of sand and grass, and it doesn't take long to realize it's leading down into a small cove and the start of a sea cave! While it's not very large yet, you can see the surf is slowly eroding the space - some day, this might be a lovely lagoon, though for now it's just a much needed shady spot. The glint of creatures under the water catches your eye, but the attention drift causes you to notice something else nearby. Growing on several rocks poking out of the water are some odd little fungi. You might be able to get them and bring them back if you try. Optional. On success, +1 Weird Mushroom?. On failure, get bitten by a hungry pokémon and -1 HP for whoever attempted.

The looked at the odd little fungi and at the shadow of something under the bit of water. He considered sending out mal or wallie again but well he couldn't imagine either of them getting hurt because of his pride again in the same outing. to that end he moved to reach and grab the small fungi. He really wasn't confident of success on his end but he wanted to be able to say he was trying to gather the strange things from around the place if he was asked latter by those egg heads who were all about the plants and the like.

Swearing loudly he pulled back his hand bleeding. He was glad that he hadn't had Mal try that. He held his hand for a few moments to stop the bleeding and began to realize just how tired he was. it wouldn't be long before he was going to head home and really he hadn't done much.

The calls of wild pokemon around him made him look around but he didn't see any kind specifically. He rubbed his hands taking care of his injured hand carefully. next time he was going to need to bring some bandages out with him. after all for all he knew the calls were about his scent of blood. That made him a bit nervous but there really weren't any large pokemon in this area so it couldn't be that bad right?

It made him very nervous to hear wild pokemon keep calling out like that. perhaps it was just the day getting latter or perhaps it really could be the scent of his blood? Yeah it was time to start heading back and he turned back to start heading back home hoping he didn't run into trouble along the way.

The plains are harder to move around in than you expected in this area, as there's some particularly thick brush under the already dense foliage. -1 Energy.

Wading through thick brush and struggling to get back home Theo though maybe it might be better to do some basic research for a while rather then try and enjoy the sunshine like he had today. He did have a great battle with Mal but he got bit, fell into briars, got Firewall hurt being foolish and all in all didn't really have a great day. He had to work on making a short report once he was back and write down the things he saw and encountered.
