[Faction] Groups in Nauwill Region

While Nauwill is a newly settled region, there are already several groups settled there. New arrivals on the island are all initially associated with one of these affiliations, as permission from one of them is necessary to gain a passport to the region. However, this doesn't mean that an individual can only participate with or work with one faction! Obviously, there's not some kind of weird war on the island, so most people will work with all of them at some point or another.

You'll find information about the known factions of Nauwill below.

VCA - Viridian City Academy

With a wide range of courses, from rugged outdoor survival to preparing pokemon of all types for high-end beauty contests, Viridian City Academy's claim as one the world's finest training schools in the world cannot be argued by even its staunch rivals. Each year new trainers from all across the world choose this accredited school that has near-consistently seated multi-league champions, but the past several have held a different end for those ranking into master researchers.

VCA holds steadfast as a passive bystander in the power struggle between URA and Fairlight, more concerned to use the strange island as an advanced dissertation and practice arena for their more intrepid explorers! So many opportunities have revealed themselves within the strange land, and some have eagerly made it their lives' goal to categorize and catalog the new flora, fauna, and regional variants.

Fairlight Company

Despite somehow legally acquiring the rights to the entire region, the company is currently embroiled in an ongoing dispute with the United Research Associates (URA) over whether or not Nauwill is safe enough to inhabit - namely due to the lack of study versus the strange and highly suspect crystal and mineral deposits found scattered throughout thus far. Fairlight Co. themselves want nothing but to continue settlement for the benefit of mankind, however, and has in turn already settled the small coastal city Doveport with more sprawl on the way.

Fairlight Co. has gone on record to adamantly deny any allegations that fusion crystals are highly dangerous and dimiss the false claim they're "ruining the entire natural habitat". Fairlight Co. has been nothing short of painstakingly careful to preserve the natural resources and environment. Fairlight Co. profits by offering convenient housing and quality of life for early adopter businesses and beach lovers alike.

Addendum: If for some reason you really must know, Fairlight Co. acquired the entire region of Nauwill through some expertly conducted and extremely complicated business negotiations that honestly most people wouldn't begin to understand, so please don't bother thank you. If you just need more answers, just try and follow the paper trail. It's all public record.

United Research Associates

United Research Associates (URA) is a somewhat new, public-owned and public-funded research co-op composed primarily of forward-facing scientists from several regions, namely Kanto, Johto, and Kalos, but always open to expanding and welcome of fresh faces lit with a passion for academia. At the moment the co-op is unfortunately at the forefront of fighting the Fairlight Company over their claim of ownership of the newly discovered Nauwill region.

The beautiful island region of Nauwill had seemingly not yet been touched by man before their corporation decided to raze a certain expanse of forest along the beachline in order to build a town. Normally this would just be a sad day for research of natural environments, but more pressing are concerns of what the URA, helped by the premier academy VCA, has discovered.

Not only are there newly discovered regional variants of known pokémon, but rarer species have been spotted. To add to the issue, several of their researchers have begun researching odd stones, highly suspect crystals, and even more bizarre mineral deposits found scattered through the charted locations of the never-before-touched land.

The URA's spokesperson has recently gone on record, stating:

"It is paramount that, at least at present, the Fairlight Co. immediately recognize the danger urbanizing this island may represent, on both physical and humanitarian levels. Until we know more, there is no way we can recommend visiting this new locale, much less presuming to move in."

Addendum: United Research Associates in no way takes responsibility for the group of people that laid down in front of the bulldozer on Pelliper Lane last Tuesday.
