Floretta started in Johto, so I'm curious what age she'd be allowed to start out on a Poke'mon adventure! Or even if there's an age restriction on owning Poke'mon in general there.
Kanto [and Hoenn, jointly]
requires trainer permit, min 16 yr, restrictions til 18
  • must be accompanied by an adult in wild areas
  • cannot own *"extremely powerful" pokémon
  • cannot own more than three battle pokémon
  • restrictions are lifted upon reaching adulthood after passing a final exam
  • failure of final exam enacts a six month wait to try again
* Kanto keeps a list of enforced pokémon, basically any with base stat total 500+

Johto and Orre
no restrictions whatsoever
  • traditionally prospective trainers start at age 12-13
  • coincidentally Johto also has the highest rate of adolescent injury and death in the world
  • Orre (unsurprisingly perhaps) has the second, but also has fewer children and people overall

Sinnoh
actually has the strictest licensing process
  • child must complete 14 years of formal education first
  • after graduation, must attend minimum 2 years of accredited university
  • must pass a standardized knowledge test to become licensed for battle pokémon
  • if test is failed four times, no more attempts are allowed
  • must have license renewed every five years to ensure compliance with changing laws or knowledge
  • * may not have more than twelve battle pokémon active at any one time
  • these restrictions are for children and adults
* swapping a team member involves swapping another to a neutralizing / pet ball

Unova
very moderate licensing process
  • * children living in the region are required to go to school until at least age 16
  • all schools offer optional training classes starting from the sixth grade
  • anyone over the age of 13 may apply for a license following a relatively simple exam
  • number of battle pokémon is unrestricted for any age
  • strength and type of pokémon are also unrestricted
* regardless of trainer status or desire

Kalos
compulsory school and moderate licensing process
  • ten years of compulsory schooling from ages 5-15
  • 'Pokémon' is a consistent required course, including training methods and understanding the dangers and benefits of their partnerships
  • licensing is available starting at age 14, following a somewhat rigorous exam
  • no restriction on type/number of pokémon
  • areas with known populations of highly dangerous pokémon are restricted for non-adult individuals
Kalos is considered one of the safer regions for young trainers as its land is quite well settled and there aren't a lot of wild areas to begin with, minimising the risk of injury. This has been taken into account while crafting their policies.

Alola
now has traditional and modern options
  • maintain the ritual of the Island Trials, available starting at age 11
  • under modern rules, anyone under the age of 16 must be supervised during training and battle
  • individuals passing the Trials are granted full trainer licenses
  • those not wishing to take part may instead take two years of classes and pass an equally difficult exam to be licensed

Galar
long school period and high restrictions for children
  • compulsory schooling from ages 5-16
  • anyone under the age of 16 is not allowed to own battle pokémon
  • must complete all standard schooling to apply for a license
  • licensing requires completing a rigorous exam
  • licenses must be renewed every three years
  • licenses come in two levels, with *powerful pokémon denied for individuals who haven't attempted gym challenges and own less than four badges
* powerful pokémon are similar to Kanto's list (bst 500+)

Question, I know that psychic's exist in the pokemon world, because ya know Sabrina and all, can that be in my history? Though I think she was a telekinetic? (edited)
While some humans are rumored to be psychics, Sabrina is very much a known oddity in history and often suspected of just being a very good actor. All 'psychic' trainers are actually normal trainers who have formed a very strong bond with their psychic pokemon, allowing them to mentally direct their pokemon to do things, making it seem as though they themselves are doing it. However, the powers ultimately are consistently proven to come from the pokemon themselves, not the trainer.

does that mean that there are transfer boxes similar to the actual games like bills PC box
Hello did you ask for more information about pokéballs than you ever knew could exist? No? Well you're gonna get it anyway.

Modern pokéballs are different than their original apricorn ancestors. The natural ability of pokémon to shrink and store in small spaces has been researched and refined over the years, leading to the discovery of how to convert matter not only to a smaller space but to a pure energy form for maximum efficiency! Modern pokéballs work with this technology, shrinking pokémon then converting them to energy to live in a virtual world. This same tech is often applied to other objects in the world, allowing large amounts of goods to be carried in quite small areas. Most modern backpacks, for example, have digitizing pockets so they can carry far more than a human would be able to naturally carry! This tech is also what allows the PC transfer systems to work, as they digitize the pokéballs themselves and send them over vast distances in the blink of an eye. All digitizers do come with fail-safes, however, so if their internal power should fail the items will simply be expelled and dumped back into physical form on the spot.

All pokéballs have different types of décor presentation, but all of them scale their sizes to a pokémon's actual size. Examples given are for human sized pokémon, but small or larger creatures will experience an 'equivalent' for themselves. A wailord will not be crammed into a tiny space for a basic pokéball, it would just experience its equivalent of a small apartment.

Standard pokéballs all have environments to suit the type of the pokémon within; a water pokémon will experience an aquarium or ocean setting, whereas a fire pokémon might experience toasty warm fire or even lava pools depending on preference.

Pokéball
Rather simple décor, sparse or cheap looking.
Size equivalent of a small apartment, ~700 sq ft.

Great Ball
Decent standard or believable décor, though lacking in cluttered details.
Size equivalent of a large apartment/small home, ~1200 sq ft.

Ultra Ball
High quality and aesthetically pleasing décor.
Size equivalent of a large home, ~2500 sq ft.

Master Ball
Better-than-real-life décor and arrangement, maximizing comfort and experience.
Size equivalent of a small mansion, ~5000 sq ft.

Specialty Pokéballs ...
do not adjust to their occupant, but they tend to offer nicer level of detail and believability as well as more space than the standard pokéball.

Safari Ball
Emulates a large savannah, complete with a handful of AI pokémon to stimulate the occupant's natural instincts.
Size equivalent of a football field, ~50,000 sq ft.

Level Ball
Provides a safe and cozy environment for young or weak pokémon. They offer comfortable nests with plenty of blankets and pillows, as well as the illusion of plenty of snacks and drinks.
Size equivalent of a large room or tiny apartment, ~500 sq ft.

Lure Ball
Offers a comfortable area for pokémon that enjoy streams, lakes and wetlands. Each offers a large pond, creek offshoot, and surrounding marshy woodland for the occupant to wander.
Size equivalent of a football field, ~50,000 sq ft.

Moon Ball
Provides a safe haven for pokémon known to evolve with moon stones. Mostly comprised of a small, comfortable cave and a perpetually moonlit field.
Size equivalent of a small mansion, 5000 sq ft.

Friend Ball
Offers a comfy area similar to level balls, but instead of pillows and snacks they're packed full of plushies and soft toys for the occupant to enjoy.
Size equivalent of a large room or tiny apartment, ~500 sq ft.

Love Ball
Provides a small, human house along with a yard and isolated nest area that does adjust to the occupant's desires. The air of a love ball seems to radiate with warmth and happiness.
Size equivalent of a large home, ~2500 sq ft.

Heavy Ball
Emulates two terrains, one being a thickly metal-laced, rocky crag and the other being a literal gym packed with heavy training equipment. This ball type is designed to sate larger pokémon in their need for activity.
Size equivalent of a football field, ~50,000 sq ft.

Premier Ball
These balls are actually equivalent in function to ultra balls, though for some reason their rate of catching pokémon is lower.
Size equivalent of a large home, ~2500 sq ft.

Repeat Ball
Interestingly designed, these balls maintain a wireless connection with nearby of the same. This allows pokémon to communicate with others of their species, making them more comfortable and more likely to want to stay in the ball during catch attempts. Their furnishings are similar to that of the love variety, but without the radiating comfort effect.
Small occupancy, but not the smallest, at 1000 sq ft.

Timer Ball
Creates an infinitely-generating terrain, allowing its occupant to wander endlessly at their leisure. These environments are not highly detailed as with other balls, but are convincing enough to be comfortable.
The actual active perceptive space in a timer ball is actually only about ~500 sq ft.

Nest Ball
Ideal for flying pokémon and those that enjoy living high above the ground. They provide a cozy nest atop a massive tree or cliff, along with plenty of air space to stretch one's wings.
Size equivalent of a football field, ~50,000 sq ft.

Net Ball
Emulates a brackish or freshwater wetland, allowing soggy pokémon plenty of swampy ground to swim or slosh through.
Size equivalent of a football field, ~50,000 sq ft.

Dive Ball
Provides a space seemingly deep underwater, with a short coral reef blending into a small sea cave. While there is no actual need to breathe here, many non-water pokémon understandably find being contained in a dive ball unsettling.
Size equivalent of a football field, ~50,000 sq ft.

Luxury Ball
Offers a luxurious environment for more intelligent or human-like pokémon. This ball provides a massive space filled with an art gallery, an informational museum, and even an area with virtual games to stimulate the mind. The living area is similar to that of a master ball's, though only as good as real life, not better than.
Size equivalent of a football field, ~50,000 sq ft.

Heal Ball
Gives a pokémon a small dorm in an emulated medical facility, ideal for those who enjoy helping or healing others like chansey or audino. The outside of the facility is a lovely field of flowers, making it popular with gentler grass types as well.
Size equivalent of a large home, ~3000 sq ft.

Quick Ball
Provides an excellent environment for pokémon that would like to go fast! They offer an appropriately sized running track with a comfortable, nearby rest area. The center of the track is filled with grass and the weather varies by day, offering plenty of training scenarios for those easily-bored types.
Size equivalent of a football field, ~50,000 sq ft.

Dusk Ball
Great for pokémon who like the dark! They give the occupant a small section of dense forest and underbrush as well as a cozy cave. The light level ranges runs only from dusk to fully dark.
Size equivalent of half a football field, ~25,000 sq ft.

Cherish Ball
Actually offers one of the smallest environments, providing only a small, type-customized nest to rest in. However, the air of a cherish ball is thick with radiating comfort and happiness as well as a perpetual drowsing effect, making the occupant comfortable and eager to sleep out their stresses.
Size equivalent of a medium room, ~300 sq ft.

Park Ball
Offers a wide open field surrounded by tall fences, dotted with walk paths, a few fountains, and a number of scattered trees. This design generates new toys and AI playmates every day, simplistic but believable enough for basic pokémon intelligences and below to thoroughly enjoy playtime.
Size equivalent of a football field, ~50,000 sq ft.

Dream Ball
Creates a never-ending space of distorted, dreamlike imagery. The area is very much a liminal space, and will vary from simple non-Euclidian, empty buildings and spaces to full on dreamlike environments, depending on the occupant's comfort. Like timer balls, the active area in a dream ball is quite small, but it will continue to destroy and generate infinitely.
About ~500 sq ft.
