3. Do not bring Drama into the shop. If there is an issue, talk to shop staff, or
if it is severe enough, Basilisk Stew Staff.

[ Story ]

You don't need to know the story, or take part in RP for a pet to grow to adult.
There will be additional things you can earn through RP but it is not required.

After enduring an arduous debate, the Elders of First Roost have finally come to a consensus:
First Roost will once more open its doors to outsiders so they may learn the ways of the Griffin
Riders! This is a momentous occasion, as before this new ruling, the only pupils of First Roost
were the Family of Riders, residents of the mountain itself.

With the doors open to the public, anyone may attempt to become a Griffin Rider. Everyone starts
at the same level—with a Grifflet. Once hatched, these young Griffins search the souls of
prospective companions. They will choose their partner through a connection to their morals,
ambitions, or something innate. Grifflets will imprint on the companion they choose and form a
lasting bond of friendship. This is the first milestone in becoming a Rider.

It is, however, not the only way to achieve Ridership. If someone were to buy a Griffin egg—a
very rare commodity—and carry it with them, keeping it warm and safe, the unhatched Grifflet will
attune to the prospective rider, just as Grifflets do with their parents in the wild. Some claim this
develops a stronger bond with the Grifflet, while others argue that being chosen by a hatchling to
be superior. The staff of First Roost, however, believe both methods are equivalent.

Despite the path a Rider chooses, this is where most stories begin. At least, for now! The bond is
only the first step towards graduation. Once graduated, the world will open up fully!

[ Becoming a Rider ]

Both Riders and Civilians are important and have different benefits but both are needed for a
good healthy city! Here's a short breakdown of each role!




Rider:

Riders have their mounts and when they pair together there is no stronger force! Unlike Civilians
they are trained in riding the great beasts of this world and can delve into dungeons, ruins and
take part in battle with their companions. Riders will always have some of their uniforms showing.

Civilians:

Civilians aren't as adept at combat and exploring but are way more adept at crafting! Where as
Riders focus on exploration and adventure, Civilians are the creatives who make foods, potions,
dyes and clothing among other things.

Our Bases are not gender locked, and so you can make male and
female characters on either of our two bases above! There is base A that was
made to look more traditionally masculine, and base B that was made to be
more traditionally feminine. You are not bound to this and can use either
interchangeably.

We will be adding to this list over time, however, we currently only have a
limited amount of base work done.

First Roost:
Home of the Griffin Riders, and the first and currently only place to train to
befriend and ride these creatures! Currently Griffins are the only Mount trained
and raised here.

Griffin:
Fast and loyal the Griffin is a great partner to have! Standing anywhere from
five to eight feet at the shoulder they're more than large enough to ride with
wings strong enough to fly with ease even with a rider fully armored on their backs!

There are many ways to find your perfect companion in the world, these are
but a few of them!

Egg Stalls:
While some merchants and Riders claim that having a Griffin egg and
hatching it makes the bond between Griffin and Rider stronger and in turn
makes the duo stronger, there is no real or credible proof of this. Merchants
however DO use it as a way to charge premium for egg sales.


Chance Encounter:
Perhaps the most luck based way to get a Mount/Rider in all of Heraldic!
Every month a Chance is rolled, if no one rolls the target number it is rolled
again in another month! Totally free and fully luck based!



Raffle:
A raffle paid with in game currency earned through RP, Events, releasing Mounts
and in-game jobs! These are not on a schedule or regular bases, so keep an eye out
on if there's one running! The amount to enter is also different each time, so read
carefully.​

[ Breeding and Customs ]

When it comes to this you have several options! They'll
all be outlined below of course.
Heavy WIP

- Gender does not matter when breeding.
- You may breed Riders/Trainee's/Civilians but colorists MAY opt out.
- Offspring may have more, less or mixed edits.

Breeding Numbers:

Single Party breeding ( One user breeding two pets ): 1 - 2 Offspring
Dual Party Breeding: 2 - 4 Offspring

Breeding Types:

- Standard -

A breeding between two parents of the same species.
Both parents and grandparents may be taken into
account when making offspring. This is artists choice however
and is not to be expected every time.


- Hybrid -

To species breeding to make a new species. These offspring
do run the risk of not being able to reproduce, however, they
have a higher chance of better stats and may even have
both species buffs upon hatching.


- Rogue/Wild -

If you can't, or don't want to find a partner, this is always
an option! There will be a rotating 'wild' Mount that can be
selected. Currently this is only planned for Mounts.

Stats:

Mounts have something unique to them, Stats! All
Mounts have stats that are rolled for when they are created
by staff. These are static and do not change outside very
rare items!

Each Species and Sub Species can have different stats
so if Stats matter to you, be sure to check the sheet
for what the minimal stats for your species are!

Buffs:

Like Mounts, Riders, Trainees and Civilians have something
special too! Buffs! Depending on the species the buff can and
will change! Be sure to check what your species buff is!​

The currency in Heraldic is the following, and while it may look different
from location to location, they all boil down tot he same value!

- All characters start with 10 Chit. -


Bit - Lowest currency, considered of change. 100 Bits to a Chit.
Chit - Middle value, considered value of the dollar. 100 Chits to a Mark
Mark - The highest value.​

for the jobs do change, so make sure that you're selecting one
that you're able to take, otherwise they will turn you down!
