All rabbits have genetics that control their colour and appearance, but they also have additional hidden traits that impact breeding! All of these are inherited traits, but a wide variety of items can be used to impact them.

Mutagenic Factor

This hidden trait controls how likely a mutation is to appear in a litter. This amount is between 0 and 100 percent. The average amount is 10 percent. Both parent's mutagenic factor play an equal role in determining if a litter receives a mutation. Mutations can be pattern, colour or physical. Mutations are most likely to be pattern based, and least likely to be physical. Mutations can create entirely new traits or be existing traits.

Fertility Level

This hidden trait controls the maximum number of kits that are born in a litter. Rabbits can have a maximum litter size of 1 - 10. Four is the average maximum litter size. Only the doe's fertility is used to determine the litter size, but the buck's fertility level can be passed on to his offspring.

Twin Factor

This hidden trait controls how likely twins are to appear in a litter. This amount is between 0 and 100 percent. The average amount is 10 percent. Only the doe's twin factor is used to determine if twins occur, but the buck's twin factor can be passed on to his offspring. Twins are always genetically identical. Twins can occur multiple times in the same litter. Triplets can also occur.
