Sunseer has called a Clan meeting! There have been reports of fresh and frequent fox scent lingering around StoneClan's cliffside territory. Sunseer is calling for more border patrols throughout the day, however, he is clear when he warns StoneClan to be on their guard when going outside the camp. StoneClan has been at peace since they came to the river, but have they become complacent in their relaxation? Surely not! All the same, it's best that apprentices stick by their mentors and their Clanmates find safety in numbers. SunClan is watching over them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During this meta, your StoneClan cats will be able to organize their own patrols! Gather a group of between 2-5 StoneClan warriors and apprentices to go on a patrol. These cats may all be your own, if you'd like to do a Solo-RP or you can grab some fellow shop members and their felines for a Private-RP! Once you've got your patrol thread set up, you may roll a prompt from the following table to determine what will occur in the patrol! Note: You only need to roll a prompt from this table once using 1d10! The user who creates the patrol thread will be the only one to roll for the prompt. You can post these patrol threads in [The Pine Woods] subforum.

Feel free to use this event as an opportunity to go back and roleplay some of your cats in their Apprentice stage! It can be assumed that these patrols have been happening for a few months. Don't forget, in order to be considered for RP stages like Leader and Deputy, your cat must have mentored at least one apprentice - and have the RP to prove it!

StoneClan, Opponent: Fox
1. Hunting Training (apprentices roll 1d20 to determine if they are able to catch the prey or not, any numbers 13+ indicate a successful catch!)
2. Battle
3. Battle
4. Scent Identification (all apprentices roll 1d10, if they land on an even number, they're able to correctly identify the scent as (insert prey type here, ex: a frog). If they roll an odd number, they cannot identify any specific prey nearby.)
5. Loner
6. Stealth Training (all apprentices roll 1d10, if they land on an odd number, they're able to sneak up on their mentors successfully. If they land on an even number, they make too much noise and alert anything nearby to the patrol's location.)
7. Battle
8. Battle
9. Oops! Encounter (Oh no, you've stumbled upon a buried nest of wasps while patrolling your territory! While the nest was damaged enough to suspect those wasps won't be back, your patrol members sustained some nasty bites and had to return to camp to get them treated.)
10. Battle

If you roll a Loner or Battle prompt, you'll have the opportunity to defend your clan's territory from an intruder! A cat's health points (HP) and attack damage is based on what stage of life they're in! Apprentices only have 5 HP, while warriors have 10 HP as they are fully grown and their training has been completed! Similarly, if an apprentice lands a hit they will do 3 points of damage to their opponent, while a warrior can do 5 points of damage! In order to attack an enemy, your cat needs to roll 1d20 to see if they reach a certain number to hit their enemies! For apprentices, the number they have to roll from that 1d20 is 15 or higher, for warriors the number needed to hit the enemy is 10 or higher.

To break it down, you can reference the chart below:

Warrior
HP: 10
Damage: 5 per hit
To Hit: 10+

Apprentice
HP: 5
Damage: 3 per hit
To Hit: 15+

The fox your patrol encounters will have an HP that is x2 the amount your entire party has. So, the more cats in your patrol, the more HP the fox will have. Loners follow the same stage stats as clan cats, with adult stages being equivalent to warrior stages and juvenile being the same as apprentices!

With all battle encounters, there is the risk of death. In the midst of a battle encounter, you and your party will be asked if you wish to continue the fight or to let the enemy flee. If you wish to pursue the battle and your enemy's HP hits 0, everyone in the patrol is can redeem one battle scar edit for their cat! However, if you choose to continue the fight and you or another patrol member's cat has their HP hits 0, they will be entered into a death raffle at the end of the meta event. As such, the vote to continue the battle must be unanimous in order to proceed, as it runs the risk of cats dying. To reiterate: If you and your patrol group members all decide unanimously to continue a fight after being prompted, then you are all consenting to have your cats enter a death raffle at the end of the meta, if any of the cats' HP hits 0 during the fight.

A cat can only be apart of one ongoing patrol at a time; that patrol needs to be completed before your cat can join a new patrol. By extension, if your cat's HP hits 0 following a patrol fight, they are considered ineligible to participate in any further patrols.
Ex. Thunderfoot is apart of Patrol A. Before he can join Patrol B, Patrol A must reach its organic end. If Thunderfoot's HP hits 0 in Patrol A, he is unable to participate in Patrol B or any other patrols during the meta.

Have any further questions about how patrols work? You can reach out to belloblossom on BasiliskStew or go to the #ask-the-staff in our Discord group and ask for belloblossom or Blinded By Silence.

Now, with all this knowledge and your cats at the ready, go forth and patrol StoneClan's territory and get a taste of what Clan life is like!
