Lex hummed slightly under his breath as the beats of music continued loud and clear from his preferred overlarge squishy headphones. He had interviewed a few people in the wreckage and had taken a lot of pictures of the wreckage and crew sorting to possibly do a piece on it. He was certain they could spin this in a positive light, of teamwork and fast reaction to environmental clean ups. It was just trying to get the big bosses approval on it... because it did have the potential to pain them in a bad light as well.

He sighed, adding more pieces of wood to the pile. Perhaps they could burn it later in a bonfire as a sort of team bonding event. Good work, lets have a giant ass fire... depending if it was safe to burn. Could you burn wood treated to withstand sea water? Toxic fumes? Maybe? Possibly epic colors though. He made a note to at least bring it up because it was going to be someone else's rubber stamping on any approval of burning things not his.

It could be wicked fun though.

He yawned slightly, fumbling for his thermos and chugged some hot delicious tea. Got to keep away, even in the early morning of the day, and he should have just slept in and came back a bit later. It not like anyone cared when he showed up as long as he did show up. But he had tea and music to keep him awake and nets to wrangle before something else got caught in them.

Like the pidoves, or the rattata, the later at least made sense. Rats were known to stowaway on ships and cause problems, Lex wasn't sure how the pidoves and lapras got around. Turns out they were both native but still, the bay and dock were human areas. The pikipeks were an oddity. And the litwik.. all sorts of odd pokemon hiding out on those ships.

But it was mainly the rats. So many rats. He was rather sure the lady in charge of the United Research group was pulling out her hair at the amount of damage that many rattata could cause if left to multiply and spread on the island. At least everyone seemed rather enthusiastic at capturing them. But that could be just because they were an available pokemon and Fairlight seemed to be just giving away balls at the moment to get this done with.

Speaking off...that was an awful amount of squeaking just now. Lex hummed, listening slowly, following the sound to a little pale rattata dangling from a tree branch. Little feet just windmilling in an attempt to right themselves. Squeaking up a storm but not managing to get any traction.

"Poor little guy, how did you get all the way up there?" Lex muttered, cupping a hand behind them and lifting them up. "Easy." He muttered and then promptly bopped it over the head with a pokeball capturing it. "Okay, and that is a rat... not in a research ball. Shit." He hadn't meant to dooo that... But it looked like he was going to be training a rattata now. "Man, i'm going to have to think of a good name for you." And get it looked at, and fed, and for now it would be fine in the pokeball.

"After my shift, we are going to the enrichment center to get you a check up." Well that made it hmm, the fourth pokemon he had? He was rather sure it was four now.
