It was a wet and drizzly sort of day, as it had been all spring it seemed. Hawthorn seemed to remember spring's past being a little more ... warm? Dry? Something a little nicer than this, at least. He'd taken off from his home at the Bough before winter ended, as he'd started to feel that itch. He'd been hanging around far too long. And then there was that matter of kits ... Some things were just better not thought to hard on.

The perky buck stood on a low swell in the ground, surveying the meadow. It might be wet, but wow was it ever filled with colour. He hopped towards a lovely patch of flowers, eyeing them carefully. Mayhaps he'd select a few of the best specimens. Some does seemed to love flowers. And this whole thing might make an excellent story! Perhaps enough to secure that place as being one of the Honored ... If not, maybe he'd just meet a pretty new doe. Couldn't hurt, at least!

(( hi it's me again. uwu
...
back again with another seriously ill child XDD ))

Sparrowsong picked her way carefully across the soggy meadow. This was her first proper spring and she had been looking forward to seeing the flowers in bloom. No way was she ever going to let a little water, hate it as she might, ruin her plans. She had been feeling awfully crummy as of late on top of it, so what better way to lift her spirits than with some pretty flowers? She was already thinking of all the places she could put them. Her burrow could use a some more colour. Especially one that wasn't sickly green.

A particularly lovely purple one had caught the doe's attention. She went in for a sniff only to be intercepted by a harsh sneeze, effectively coating the poor plant in snot. How revolting. With a grimace, Sparrowsong decided she suddenly didn't want that flower anymore and turned in search of a different one.

The damp buck was busy inspecting a lovely pink flower, contemplating the sort of doe that would like it best when he heard a sneeze. His head whipped up. There, across the meadow was a little doe. Oh how sweet she looked! Oh, and she was sneezing to! Could this be a connection! He snipped the pink flower with his teeth and bounded towards her.

"Hello, hello!" The flower was clenched between his front teeth, but he seemed to be managing to speak around it just fine. "I could help but notice you, out here on your own, and thought perhaps a lovely flower would make this rainy day brighter!" He grinned and popped the flower out of his mouth, pushing it towards her.

"Hawthorn, at your service!" He bowed forward, in as dramatic as a manner as he could manage.

Bramble Bark was easily distracted by all the flowers in the meadow. The were so colorful and he was sure there were some here he had not seen before. He moved happily through the slightly muddy grass not worried about the drizzle of rain, he was already sick to begin with. He sneeze and huffed that was getting old this minor illness was slowing down his explorations. It also frustrated him that he could look at plants, bark or what have you and have no idea if they would help or be a remedy of any sort, should he just start chewing on everything till something worked? Bramble was just about to chew a random flower when he saw a buck move through the meadow near by. Oh yes Bramble loved meeting and talking to new rabbits. The thought of him being wary since he was sick and shouldn't risk spreading it never crossed his mind. Bramble hopped after the buck reaching him and the doe just in time to see the dramatic bow. He couldn't help but laugh he wasn't sure why but what the buck did amused him. "Quite the bow you have there, .....was it...Hawthorn?" Bramble smirked. "Hello to both of you! Hope I'm not interrupting anything." Bramble smiled and then sneezed loudly, blast this illness.

Sparrowsong wiped her nose and began her search anew, pawing through the wet mix of grasses and flowers for another bloom that stood out to her. She paused her quest when she heard the pawsteps of a quickly approaching rabbit. A bold, brown-hued buck had appeared before her with a lovely pink flower in his teeth.

"Hello," she replied, calm and cordial with a slight smile. Her interest piqued when he offered the flower to her. "Oh why thank you! That's precisely what I had come out here for!" The doe accepted the flower, deciding that she quite liked this buck. Unlike some individuals, he seemed to actually know how to properly treat a lady.

She wasn't one for the dramatic herself, but his mannerisms charmed her. "How lovely to make your acquaintance, Hawthorn. You may address me as Sparrowsong." The lop offered a similarly polite greeting to the other buck, though her expression wilted when he sneezed. She wasn't much better off herself, but she couldn't help the disgust. There better not be any goop in her fur now...

Hawthorn gave Bramble a bit of side eye. Was this competition? He certainly hoped not. Surely he was more dashing than this other fellow. Still, it paid to be polite. "A pleasure, I'm sure. What might your name be, traveler?"

He quietly appraised the little doe. She seemed receptive. Not surprising, he was a very desirable and polite fellow, after all. "What a charming name, Sparrowsong. It reminds me of lovely - not rainy - spring days. Are you here to enjoy the blooming of the flowers? Or just to make the meadow all the more beautiful?"

He did his best to ignore that both of his new companions were a bit snotty. He'd noticed in his travels that more than a few rabbits seemed to be similarly afflicted ...
