Tavern ORP Rules

  • Go over the Roleplay Guide and Rules.
  • Be kind to others and be aware that others might have different time constraints or illnesses that might prevent consistent rp.
  • Do not godmod. Do not control anyone else's character or have your character be all powerful or all knowing. What is written as thoughts are exactly thoughts, your character does not magically know what another character is thinking.
  • Do not constantly bug someone for a reply unless you have been given permission from them to do so.
  • You are free to rp the employees with portraits. They are 'yours' to NPC in this thread alone. (They still belong to the shop.)
  • You are free to rp other possible employees or regulars at the tavern, however, be aware, they follow the NPC rules.
  • Occasionally, a staff member may have something special happening in the thread. This could include something as simple as a weather change, or something or someone causing some chaos. Please be aware, this should be happening around your character. However, how your character reacts to the event is up to you.

Tavern Description

The Tavern is an old building like most of Bastion's Rise. It was one of the first buildings to be renovated (Ale is a great motivator!). The building is eclectic. Every chair seems to come from somewhere else, half of them are broken or bolted back together. Tables are missing pieces, some are even braced to the wall. The reason is easy to see when you notice a blue Half-Dragon in the corner grinning from ear to ear every time a fight breaks out. The place is immaculately clean, however, even despite seeing a mouse occasionally out of the corner of your eye dancing on the counter for scraps from the locals. There is a bar in the center of the room made of oak that seats about nine, these stools have also been replaced many times. There seems to be chips off the rim of the bar and a few places that have been patched up from someone kicking the side. If you look closely enough you can also see some damage from a fire though it's been hidden well. In one of the corners is a stage set up, it seems to be the only thing in good condition. Local talent is set up there nearly every day, and on special nights even Tryst has been known to show up and sing for the crowd.

(Long Term) Tavern Staff

These are the long term tavern employees. You are in no way required to use them in your posts, but you are free to rp them as NPCs if you'd like. If you have a different idea for a waitress or employee of the tavern then go for it! I'm sure that there are other staff in their that have yet to be named. We are not policing anyone rping them, though we are giving guides on their personalities so they are easier to play. <3

Mogshar - Serves Alcohol. He is a Half-Elf. While he serves the bar, and absolutely refuses to wait on tables. Generally, if asked anything about himself he either lies or doesn't say. If he does choose to tell it's usually a new fantastical story that doesn't line up with anything he said the previous day. He especially enjoys doing this to new people. No one quite knows why a Half-Elf has an Orcish name nor why his eye is missing.

Lizzy - A Waitress. A human woman. She is the newest face at the tavern. She has a really hard time remembering orders from one place to the next, though she is good at remembering people. She loves attention and food and will talk for hours about frivolous things. She is popular with the guests despite her forgetfulness since she generally has a very easy going attitude.

Tarina - A Waitress.Tarina is a Rashryn, one of the few in the city. She is very good at her job, quick witted, quick on her feet and able to handle multiple orders at the same time. The issue is... she has a very no-nonsense attitude. If you joke or make any sort of snide remark she has absolutely no issue telling you off to your face. She hates compliments and will definitely tell you where to go. Anyone who leaves her a crappy tip will definitely get the finger.

Sodrin - A Waiter. Sodrin is perhaps the best the tavern has to offer. He is charming, quick, ready to please guests and knows how to use his tail to carry even more orders to guests. He is a seasoned vet at this job. He doesn't mind flirting with the men or the women to get better tips. However, on a rare occasion one of his many 'friends' can come in and cause a scene. He is a bit of a coward and has no issue hiding behind fellow employees (especially Vilyra) or patrons if things get dicey with armed individuals.

Vilyra - The Bouncer. Vilyra is bubbly, cute, sweet and kind, so it might be a bit surprising to find that she is also the enforcer. At first, it would seem she's any normal girly girl who likes cute and fuzzy things, however, should a fight happen and she's the first to break noses and shed blood. She loves a good fight and isn't afraid to throw punches to show her prowess, in fact, she revels in it! She gets awfully bored if there is no action for too long and will sometimes try to get people riled up just to cause chaos. She has a tendency to forget names and faces which some people attribute to her getting knocked around so often.

Demitt - Demitt is the cook and owner of the Tavern, he is also a Halfling. He is rarely seen outside of the kitchen unless absolutely necessary. He is a little eccentric and makes food that you can't get anywhere else. People call him a crazy genus when it comes to food and most are unsure how he gets such strange ingredients to work so well together. His food is what keeps most people coming to the tavern even when his employees can be a little rough around the edges.

Tryst - While not an employee at the Tavern, Tryst is a Wood Elf Bard that frequents the establishment. She is the most popular bard in Vigala, her fame causes the tavern to be overfilled when she is there. People will gather outside the door just to be able to hear her music. She is extremely talented with both singing and playing instruments. She usually plays the lute, flute and harp. On occasion she will also have a band with her while she sings.
