Names are very important to Clan life. A cat's name changes as they grow from a kitten to an apprentice, coming to its completed stage once they join the ranks as a warrior. Names can range anywhere from appearance to personality descriptors and they're something that is taken seriously among many of the Clans.
As you may have guessed, this contest will be a naming contest for the two felines above - however, rather than merely posting the name they took as a warrior of StoneClan, you are also to tell me what inspired the name that you choose for them. Names are full of meaning, so think carefully (and remember the naming theme for the shop!)

Note: All cats given away this week will have been canonically apart of MountainClan and traveled to the new territories as seen in the meta. These two cats chose to stay with StoneClan. Keep this in mind when entering for them.

Which Cat? Dark
Warrior Name: Weaselheart
How was their warrior name chosen?: their name was easy enough! Upon birth, they looked much like a weasel their mother had once seen. Hence the name Weasel. The last part though... Came much later, of course. They'd always been a tricky cat. Not one to betray their clan, no, but they enjoyed pulling pranks and messing with outsiders. Their name became Weaselheart upon adulthood because of the way they'd weasel their way into every situation, so that they could benefit. Often, they aren't looked up on with much pride, though they haven't been cast from their clan. Perhaps with this new beginning they can prove their worth to their clan.

Which Cat? Dark
Warrior Name: Duskflight
How was their warrior name chosen?: Dusk comes from the coloration of his pelt and its likeness to the appearance of the sky at dusk. Flight on the other hand comes from who he is: a bit of a whimsical sort that always seems to have his head in the clouds. He means well, he just can't help but to get distracted thinking about something fantastic.

Which Cat? Light
Warrior Name: Snowowl (or alternatively Snowyowl if that sounds better)
How was their warrior name chosen?: Their name came about mostly due to their pelt. However, it was also influenced by the fact that they were an incredibly adept hunter in the winter and at night Much like the snow white owls that made their home in the mountains. Even with the soft speckles of brown on their coat - perhaps even because of - they can blend better into the rocks and bushes all over the mountains, as if they are rocks or twigs just barely peeking through the snow. Their nocturnal tendencies, however, were the biggest factor in the second part to their name. They were rarely awake long during the day, with most interactions with the clan being during dawn and dusk. They are the first to go out on moon high patrols, and often participate in multiple patrols a night because of this, hunting all the nocturnal prey they can.

Which Cat? Light
Warrior Name: Frostdapple
How was their warrior name chosen?: Frost came from the fact that his coat is mostly white. Dapple references the colored spots. I also think of light filtering through the canopy when I think of the word dapple which fits his gentle, quiet personality.

Which Cat? Dark
Warrior Name: Nighteyes
How was their warrior name chosen?: Normally, when a kit first opens its eyes, they are blue in color. But when this cat's eyes opened, it was as though the night sky was held in them. Nighteyes earned her name for them, and for the total darkness her blind eyes see.

Which Cat? Dark
Warrior Name: Darkrose
How was their warrior name chosen?: Darkkit was an easy enough name, she figured. Her mother must have taken one look at her unnaturally dark eyes and bestowed the name upon her with a lack of creativity that Darkrose would smile fondly at later. You see, Darkrose never really knew her mother -- her mother was always a weak and sickly cat and her pregnancy had been dangerous, which would eventually shock everyone when she only birthed one tiny kitten and managed to survive. Her mother had refused to name Darkkit until she felt like she had the perfect name, and according to rumors and stories, Darkrose's mother died the day after her eyes opened for the first time. Apparently, if the "legends" to be believed, Darkrose had her midnight-colored eyes from the very first moment she opened them, further surprising the clan and, likely, earning her name.

Darkkit would become Darkpaw and with it came responsibility and friendship. She befriended a paw named Rosepaw during the famine and clung tight to her friend throughout her apprenticeship until Rosepaw's sudden and awful death to disease and starvation. Darkpaw's world shattered around her and she crumbled at first, locking herself away in the apprentice den and refusing food or to perform her duties. She thought she'd never return from her heart-broken stupor until, with a sharp and sudden strike, a revelation hit her; wouldn't Rosepaw be watching her right now? And what would she say if she saw Darkpaw at her worst? No- No! Darkpaw had to live for her friend.

So she would.

She returned to her duties with vigor, although she'd visit the grave of her friend nightly and frequently left a single rose for her fallen friend. When it came time for her warrior ceremony she was gifted the suffix rose, in honor of the deep love and reason to live that she had found for her best friend.

Which Cat?[/b] dark
Warrior Name: Nightsoul
How was their warrior name chosen?:[/b] The unusual color of the cat's eyes, deep as the night sky and glittering with stars when the light hit them just right, made their name prefix an obvious choice for their parents. As they grew, from a kit, to an apprentice, and into a warrior, their personality became evident and it was clear to all that their soul too was like the night - vast, quiet, patient, and glittering with bright spots all across the sky, everywhere you could look.
