Participation Tokens
________________________________

While Realm of the Endless Void: Beyond the Path of the Mortal Veil is a heavily RP-oriented shop with an equally heavy name, we also understand there are those of you that are far more into the collection and possibly light plotting aspects we provide. That said, participation tokens (PT) can be acquired in various ways - there's bound to be a means for everyone, including you!

As a note: PT can not be transferred to other users.

Before we get into the hows and whys, let's have a look at what you can earn ...

Please note, while these options are generally available to most characters, there are a couple of caveats. The original designer (or the alt's designer, depending) may not be the one filling your request and, if by some bad stroke of luck an original file is missing, your request may not be able to be filled at all. These will be noted when necessary!

See It On Your Face: 30 PT
This allows you to replace your character's expression with one more befitting their personality! This will not change your character's eye color, shape, features, etc, but will give them a new face with whatever mood, emotion, or specific expression you desire.

Shopping Trip: 50 PT
This will replace your character's clothing or accessories with a new pattern or color. Please note: this can only change the color of the clothing/accessories they are already wearing. Characters with unedited clothes will always be able to get this service, but those with custom outfits must have the original file available from the original designer.

Accessorize!: 75 PT
Give your character a sparkly new accessory! This will be a new edit of your choice, though it must be an article of clothing or other item, not a new body edit (such as a differently shaped tail). Characters receiving this service may have their unique level bumped up, but it may only go up one diamond. As a note, this option only covers one single item and may not be used to request an entire outfit at one time, though you may redeem it multiple times at once to do so if you'd like!

Some Companionship: 100 PT
Does your character need a companion? This will let you get one! With this option, you'll be able to select one of your character's designs and add a pre-existing (templated) pet for a shiny new alt.

Odd Companionship: 200 PT
Like Some Companionship, but for non-sapient imps!
[Character does require access to the creation providence to obtain.]

Fresh Companionship: 300 PT
Like Best Friends Forever, but for brand new pets! (Finally, that boa constrictor everyone thought your character was crazy for having!)

Best Companionship: 500 PT
Like Fresh Companionship, but for non-sapient imps!
[Character does require access to the creation providence to obtain.]

Games and Events: ??? PT
Sometimes, there may be games or events like flatsales, raffles, auctions, or the like which rely on PT as currency or entry fees. There's no telling how much these will cost, but it might be a good idea to hang on to a few just in case!

Please note: prices are subject to change as needed.

Earning: Roleplaying
___________________
The first way you can earn PT is by roleplaying.

The method for this is simple; using the word count listed at the top right of every post, you get one (1) token per fifty (50) words turned in! However, there's a couple of things to note:

First, your roleplay must be in a thread in order to claim your tokens. If you want to post a log from Discord or somewhere else, that's fine, but each player must paste their parts separately in order to have individual word counts. This gets you credits anyway, so it's not too bad, right?

Secondly, the above rate only counts for roleplays with more than one player - player meaning human writer. If you are writing solos, you will only get one (1) token per 80 words. This is directly in order to encourage community interaction.

Finally, a roleplay must be completed before it can be turned in. Once a thread is turned in, it will be locked; it won't be deleted, so you'll still have access to it, but you won't be able to add to it. To avoid abandonment problems, however, if it has been over two weeks since a post and it was someone else's turn, you may turn in a thread as abandoned and claim the tokens for it as long as you made at least three posts in the thread total. This will still get the thread locked, so make sure it's really abandoned before you request it!

In order to claim your tokens, please use one of the following forms:

Earning: Creating Art
___________________
The second way you can earn PT is by creating art!

Unfortunately, art takes different amounts of time per person; what takes one person five minutes may take another fifty. The best we've come up with is that it must be obvious some effort was taken with your art, and for each layer of "something" that is apparent in it, you will gain more tokens.

We do not accept headshots or busts for PT submission; at least one character in your image must be drawn at least 3/4 visible, and any other characters must be at least 1/2 visible in order to be counted for bonus tokens. No dice trying to game the system with only someone's hand or paw in the frame!

You can earn for:

Clean lines/edges: +3 PT
Colors: +2 PT
Shading: +2 PT
Detailed background: +3 PT
Other peoples' Character: +2 PT per character

Please note, unless you have no characters, your artwork must include one of your own as well as part of the participation encouragement. So get out there and plot some ideas if you'd like to get the other's bonus!

Earning: Character Depth

The third way you can earn PT is by filling out profiles for your characters!

We don't have a preset form requirement - you can organize those how you'd like! - but we do have generalized sections you can include. For each section you include, you'll get the set amount of tokens, but please note - this is once per character!

While there is no double dipping allowed, if you add a section you didn't include initially, you can submit an update to gain just those extra tokens (aka tokens for the new likes and dislikes section you have created).

The sections are:

Basic information:
+1 PT
Includes at the very minimum the character's name and either image or an icon you've created, but also covers at-a-glance information like gender/pronouns, orientation, and occupation.

Likes and dislikes: +1 PT or +2 PT
A basic summary of 2-5 likes/dislikes in a list will net you 1 PT. A more in-depth listing with at least four sections, nets you 2 PT instead. Some suggestions for this area are things like favorite colors and foods, movies and television shows they enjoy, favorite books, phobias, fears, hobbies, etc. Any little sort of information that can be jotted down in a list format.

Education and occupation: +1 PT or +2 PT
A simple listing of their education history and occupation will net you 1 PT. If you take the time to write out a little more detail and explain what they do and why in a minimum of three sentences, you will get 2 PT.

Personality: +1 PT or +3 PT
You can simply list 2-3 positive and negative personality traits to gain 1 PT. You may also either write a paragraph about the character or organize explained strengths and weaknesses (i.e., one word strength/weakness with an explanation of it, with a minimum of two strengths and two weaknesses) for 3 PT instead.

Place in the world: +1 PT or +2 PT or +4 PT
You may make a simple list of characters your character knows and their relationship to one another and link to their profiles (either in an apartment or on the site!) for 1 PT. You may write a paragraph about your character's history and/or current life and lifestyle for 2 PT. If you do both, you may claim 4 PT, but please note your character must know at least two others in order to claim any relationship bonus.

Hopes and dreams: +1 PT
An overview of what your character wants out of life, things they hope for, or desires they hold dear in their heart will gain you 1 PT. This may not be simple one or two word answers ("food, world peace"), but must at minimum be partially constructed sentences ("To gain control over the cupcake industry") if not entire descriptions ("Bob wants to be the head of his own cult, one day.").

The (currently) final way you can earn PT is by just being part of the community on Discord.

We have a level system in place, and for every new one you get a nice, shiny 1 PT bonus.
