It had been an ordinary border patrol. His Clanmates had been fighting on and off with foxes, sure, and Dandelionclaw had been ready to take on whatever was thrown at him - enemy Clan warriors, predators or even angry elders (cough, Paleflame) he would've been able to handle it all. So, looking up at the fox that his patrol had interrupted, following rabbit scent - rabbit that was hanging in torn pieces from the fox's maw, he should've been able to handle himself. He was a senior warrior - a cat from MountainClan's descent - both in lineage and literal, well, descent, since he traveled down the mountain to form what was now StoneClan.

He shook his head, getting to caught up in his own thoughts. Get it together! He thought with a hiss and leaped forward to attack the fox, only to fall short by a tail length. Crowfood! He thought hurrying along the rest of the way. He would try to attack again as soon as he actually reached the fox.

Sweetpaw's mentor had been thorough in her battle training. Sweetpaw had been told that StoneClan preferred diplomatic, peaceful routes against conflict, but with the foxes lingering around their territory lately, her mentor, Darkrose, had ensured that she learned how to defend herself against enemies, like foxes, who were impossible to reason with.

Sweetpaw was finding those lessons very inspiring and helpful at this very moment, for when she had the fox in her sights, she thought of her mate, Splitnose, at home and the potential future they could have together. She thought of her brother, Reese, who had not joined StoneClan as he promised - but who might have the slightest change of encountering this fox in the event that she didn't successfully down it with her Clanmates. Between the thought of Reese and of Splitnose, she gathered her courage and threw herself at the fox, swiping her claws over its muzzle with a yowl. @AlicornPlayhouse
