[PATROL] Three's a Crowd (Sprucetail/Mapleshade/Twisted Bark)

Sprucetail, Twisted Bark and Mapleshade are going on a patrol of TreeClan's territory!

Let's roll our prompt and see what we get; the TreeClan prompt table is listed below for convenience.

TreeClan, Opponent: Raccoon 1. Battle 2. Oops! Encounter (while out on patrol, an abrupt cloudburst rolled in, causing the branches to become too slippery and difficult to traverse safely. Your patrol has to return to camp on the ground, which takes longer. The patrol will need to wait out the rain before they can try going out again.) 3. Hunting Training (apprentices roll 1d20 to determine if they are able to catch the prey or not, any numbers 13+ indicate a successful catch!) 4. Battle 5. Battle 6. Battle 7. Stealth Training (all apprentices roll 1d10, if they land on an odd number, they're able to sneak up on their mentors successfully. If they land on an even number, they make too much noise and alert anything nearby to the patrol's location.) 8. Battle 9. Loner 10. Scent Identification (all apprentices roll 1d10, if they land on an even number, they're able to correctly identify the scent as (insert prey type here, ex: a finch). If they roll an odd number, they cannot identify any specific prey nearby.)

@Zakiax @NatiStorm - Our three warriors have rolled a battle prompt and found themselves face to face with an enemy raccoon! There's no time to call for help, it's time to fight! There is no dedicated turn order: just make sure someone else posts before you post again and the raccoon goes last. A staff member will be controlling the raccoon! The stats can be found below and remember, you roll a 1d20 as your attack dice.

The Raccoon starts with 60HP, 2x the amount our party has!

Sprucetail had been relieved to get out of camp. Ever since she and Twisted Bark had become mates (and let's be honest, even before) she felt the heated stare of her sister, Birchleaf, heavy on her pelt wherever she went. Some days, it was all Sprucetail could do not to charge her sister and box her ears for coveting Sprucetail's mate. Today had been one such day and while her claws had dug into the ground beneath her, she'd just managed to redirect herself before doing someone she'd later regret.

She invited her other, jealousy-free sister, Mapleshade out for an afternoon territory patrol and because she liked his company (and not at all that she didn't trust Birchleaf not to make a move on her mate while Sprucetail was gone) she invited Twisted Bark along. One of these days she was really going to have to sit down and discuss her worries with Twisted Bark - she didn't even know if he noticed how Birchleaf acted, really. He didn't seem to pay her any heed, but insecurity pricked at her pelt. Not every cat would have the dedicated, legendary romance that her mothers, Sunflight and Riversong, had straight away.

Insisting that she be the one to lead the patrol, Sprucetail had plunged ahead across tree branches, close to tree-sprinting than the tree-walking that TreeClan was known for. Sure, there had been reports that there were scent trails of raccoons nearby, but it was broad daylight out, so finding one wouldn't be likely!

Except, she did find one. Bristling out her tail, she cried out in surprise.
"Maaaple! Bark! I found the raccoon Mom's been talking about!" Wait, weren't warriors supposed to fight rather than cry for help? She flattened her ears - she'd make the whole Clan proud if she could defeat this enemy! Slashing out uncertainly with her front claws, she tried to make a hit! But with how rattled she felt, she wasn't sure she'd actually hit the creature.

On such a warm, perfect day, Mapleshade wanted to do nothing more than sit beneath her favorite tree and share tongues with her mates. But alas, she was coerced out of camp by one of her sisters. Although she was mentored by Hawk, Mapleshade wasn't a great fighter nor was she a phenomenal hunter. What she was good at however, was being there for her family and clan when they needed to vent or get away from the pressures of clan life for a moment.

Today was one such occasion as it was more than obvious to Mapleshade that if Sprucetail, Twisted Bark, and Birchleaf weren't separated, someone was going to get hurt, physically, emotionally, or both. Since both of her sisters had made Mapleshade aware of their feelings towards the male, and of each other, she was keenly aware of the tension between them. Of course she couldn't say no when Sprucetail invited her out on the patrol with Twisted Bark, even if being around the lovers was the last way she wanted to spend such a perfect day.

With a light sigh, Mapleshade followed after her headstrong sister and her mate, slowly dragging behind, giving them some room. That was, until she heard Sprucetail call out. All senses suddenly on high alert, Mapleshade darted across the branches just in time to see Sprucetail lash out. A loud hiss escaped her as she took in the size of the raccoon her sister was facing off with. Trying to remember what Hawk had taught her, Mapleshade made her way to a higher branch and tried to strike at the raccoon from above.
