Thornstrike misses!

He had set out on the patrol alongside Thunderfoot and Bearwhisker to keep an eye on the other tom. The pair were both larger than Thornstrike, but he had to make sure Thunderfoot was a good match for his sister! The tom seemed sweet enough as is, but Bearwhisker was still easily frightened by others and would shy away quickly. Thornstrike was ready to claw the bigger tom if he messed with his sister... So he strung along to keep an eye on them.

However, he hadn't expected the scent they were hit with on their patrol. Ears up and swiveled forward, before he could really announce what was happening, he yelped and flung himself backwards. "Fox!" he hissed, ears flattening, tail fluffing, fangs bared. He barely kept sight of his sister and the other out of the corner of his eye as he attempted to claw at the fox, going straight for it's face as it snarled at him.

Unfortunately, because of this distraction of keeping his eye on his sister, Thornstrike missed the fox entirely, sliding to the side with an incredulous look.

Bearwhisker hits and deals 5 damage to the fox!

She had been lagging behind the group just a hair. A few steps off from Thunderfoot, but not entirely behind him. Just... Shy. Her ears were constantly scanning, though, and she drank in the forest's scents heavily. So to be so stunned by the fox just like her brother... A yelp would leave her.

Her first reaction was to launch forward and put herself between her smaller sibling and the fox, slashing out at it's face with a fearsome hiss. Her flank quivered, though, betraying the fear in her large body.

(Thunderfoot hits the fox for 5 damage!)
HP: 10

Thunderfoot had made no mistake of his intentions when he began to try and woo Bearwhisker - a she-cat who matched him in size, and as far as he could tell, sweet personality. He supposed he should've predicted that since he was being so bold to bring her prey after his hunts, spending time with her in his free moments, and as of that morning, inviting her out, just the two of them, for a border patrol away from the Clan, someone would take notice.

With all the fox sightings around the territory, when Thornstrike shoved his nose in and asked to come along, Thunderfoot couldn't very well say no. Now, as he stared at the fox in front of them, he was relieved that Thornstrike had barged his way in - though with a glance to the siblings, it didn't look like Thornstrike was in much of a state to attack the fox.

Bearwhisker's brother was so much smaller than Thunderfoot, which made the size difference between Thornstrike and the fox seem even greater. Thunderfoot watched Bearwhisker move in front of her brother as she launched her attack and nodded. Bearwhisker could protect her brother and Thunderfoot could protect Bearwhisker. He didn't stop to think about who would be protecting himself as he launched at the fox with claws outstretched, pouncing onto its side and trying to scramble to keep a hold of the wily thing.

(The fox hits Thornstrike for 3 damage!)

The fox had been tracking the scent of potential prey and while it wasn't best pleased to find that this prey had claws, the fox had singled out its supper among the three smaller creatures. The smallest of them held its attention and while it yelped at the assault, it dashed forward to bite the small wild cat. If it could kill the thing - it could drag it off and leave. It certainly didn't want to sit around to be attacked, that was for sure!

Thornstrike hits the fox and deals 5 damage!

HP: 7
Damage: 5
To Hit: 10+

Thornstrike was the first to be hit. The fox clamped down on his tail just before Bearwhisker could intervene, making him yelp and tumble back.

With a wounded pride that his sister had jumped in front of him, and seeing how terrified she was... Thornstrike felt the rage bubbling up inside of him. The other two cats, and fox for that matter, might have size on him, but he had speed!

A loud shriek of attack left him as he darted around his sister and slashed both front paws across the fox's muzzle. The sound it made, as well as the scent of fresh blood, sent a thrill up Thornstrike's spine. He yowled in triumph over managing to land a hit, skidding to the side of the fox and whipping around so he could see it again.

Bearwhisker hits the fox for 5 damage!

HP: 10
Damage: 5
To Hit: 10+

The sight of the fox clamping down on Thornstrike's tail... And the valiant effort the sweet tom cat Thunderfoot was putting in... Bearwhisker felt small against them. They were so fearsome and ready to fight... She really didn't want to... But if they were going to, she would as well. She could be a good barrier between her brother and the fox. Thunderfoot could certainly hold his own, too.

Thunderfoot went for one side, Thornstrike went for the face. So Bearwhisker launched at the fox's other side, slamming her body into the stinking thing as she bit down as hard as possible on its shoulder. Her claws unsheathed, she tried to find purchase on the larger animal.

(Thunderfoot misses his attack on the fox!)
HP:10

Thunderfoot saw Bearwhisker coming towards him and the fox, but didn't expect the force behind her attack. As she collided with the fox, Thunderfoot was knocked off the fox and he hit the forest floor with a thump. Momentarily winded, he struggled to his paws, gasping, before he tried to gauge the best place for a next attack. He wouldn't let this fox best him, not when Bearwhisker and her brother were under his protection!

(The fox hits Thornstrike for 3 damage!)

The fox yelped and barked as the cats converged on it. With snapping jaws, it tried to bite the closest cat to it, which happened to be the smallest of them again. It was standing near directly in front of its face, but these cats attacking its sides - this fox wasn't going to go down under their claws. Maybe a meal wasn't worth its life after all.

Thornstrike hits the fox for another 5!

HP: 4
Damage: 5
To Hit: 10+

Shrieking in pain, Thornstrike half buckled as the fox came at him again. This time to his rear flank, a gash opening as he side stepped and swiped at the same time. At least he caught the fox in the face again! "HA!!" he wheezed, taking several steps backwards. Facing the fox the entire time.

Bearwhisker lands another hit for 5 damage!

HP: 10
Damage: 5
To Hit: 10+

The sight of the fox clamping down on Thornstrike again... She was right here! With a muffled shriek from the fox's side, Bearwhisker began to pummel it's rib cage with her back paws as hard as she could. Claws caught in the thick fur until finally... Finally she hit flesh. Blood had pooled into her mouth as she bit down, and now blood was slowly matting up the fox's fur on it's side. "Don't you dare hurt my brother!" The shriek was muffled, but she said it nonetheless.

Thunderfoot had regained his breath and shoved himself from the ground to run at the fox. His teeth found their ways onto the foxes back leg and he bit down hard. Fox blood tasted vile, but he wasn't about to let go because of a sour taste in his mouth. He had to do his part to bring their enemy down and he wasn't about to give up now!

The enemy is weak. Choose now, do your cats commit to the kill or chase it off?

If you choose to continue fighting, you are consenting to have your participating cat entered into a death raffle should their hp hit 0. If you survive the fight and kill your opponent, you have earned a free battle scar edit to add to your cat!

If you choose to chase off your opponent instead, all cats will live and the battle ends here. There are no rewards for this except for the safety of your cats.

If the vote is not unanimous, the enemy will be chased away by default.
Please vote now by simply replying to this post with your decision. Afterwards, the roleplay can continue.

(The fox misses its attack on Thornstrike!)

The fox was screaming - a meal should never be worth this much effort. If it had stuck to a simple, smaller prey animal, a mouse or a squirrel, it was certain it would never have to deal with this much pain! Changing its tactic, it squirmed against its attackers, jaws snapping hard - but onto nothing. It's energy was ebbing away so quickly. It had to dislodge these horrible creatures and run! If it could...

Thornstrike misses!

HP: 4
Damage: 5
To Hit: 10+

Thornstrike attempted to swat at the foul creature again as it tried to come for him, only for the both of them to miss each other. A furious hiss, he started to scramble backwards, panting heavily. He could feel it... His tail and flank... They hurt so much. He was starting to slow down. But he couldn't show weakness! His teeth remained bared as he taunted the creature.

Bearwhisker misses!

HP: 10
Damage: 5
To Hit: 10+

The fox began to thrash about harder. They'd been doing some good damage to it, but it was still a bit larger than them. She saw it try to swipe at Thornstrike again, and Bearwhisker herself slipped off in its throes. She gasped as she hit the ground, scrambling to her feet. Another blow was aimed to the fox, but it was moving too wildly for her to hit properly now. "Thornstrike! Go!" she shrieked to her brother, stancing up between the fox and her brother. Fur bristling, tail fluffed, teeth bared.

(Thunderfoot hits the fox for 5 damage!)

Thunderfoot's claws lashed out in a furious attempt at an attack. He couldn't keep his hold on the fox's leg, but he tried to squirm in a way that let him hit the beast's foul-smelling belly. He could barely register the sounds beyond his heartbeat and the horrible sounds the fox was making.
