Twistpaw padded silently through the sun dappled forest. She had joined the clan because she'd been tired of wandering alone, being self sufficient in everything, and once she'd had a litter of kittens she had realized that being on her own all of the time wasn't exactly how she wanted to live anymore. In fact she wanted to have more kittens, but she wanted to do it with more support. The two tomcats who had raised her offspring with her had been wonderful, and she had been relieved as the mischievous little ones got big enough to start getting into trouble that there had been an adult cat for each kitten, but still some days it hadn't been *enough* and so she had sought out a clan that lived near water, so she could continue her forays into water at even the slightest excuse.
But she had joined a while ago and hadn't taken the time to earn her warrior name, and at this point she was feeling quite inadequate about it, perhaps even like she was being *lazy* - especially because nothing was stopping her besides her own lack of ambition or attachment to titles. But the clans were dealing with a whole set of problems and she knew it was long past time for her to step up into the role she probably should have already been filling.
So she racked her brain for a few days, trying to decide which warrior to approach, and finally she knew the answer. She had never interacted with him before, but Twistpaw wanted to continue her focus on everything to do with the water, wanted to stay one of the strongest swimmers and fishers in the clan, and there was a warrior whose name was about the water, Siltwater. He had to be the exact right mentor for her, didn't he? And that was why on this warm, sunny day she was walking through the pine wood looking for the brown and blue grey tom, hoping she could convince him to mentor her, observe where she was still weak and needed growth in order to become a strong, proud warrior for the clan, and earn her name.
