[PRP] Deepshade living

Reoakee

Grizzled Veteran
D

Shard adjusted the small pouch on his side looking at the sleeping form in the shadows. The female nightmare was dozing lightly without a care in the world. Her tail growled gently. He smiled thinking back over his history. He had been found and picked up by Sorien when he was just a small kit. She had found him waterlogged half out of a pond. Sorien had grown up mostly in hiding due to her nightmare nature in Torrland so she wasn’t too much of a social kitsu. When the gates opened up she had ventured into the realm of Athas where nightmares were common and had found him nearly on her fist day. She was shy when it came to populated areas as most nightmare’s forward and duplicitous personalities tended to scare her a bit. He didn’t blame her having lived in a land that disliked nightmares. Had it not been for their patron inviting them to live with him they wouldn’t have had a place to sleep here in Athas. Shard wasn’t sure how the nightmare had found them but they had. In a cave far outside of Deepshade a cave had been modified to have a home built into it. Living there was a blood drinking nightmare and ghouilian. They had found Sorien and Shard half starved and alone among the rocks and sand. Since then they had been living with the other nightmare. Sorien had been far more timid at first but the smaller ghoulian seemed to have won her over. The pest was cheeky but seemed to know spoiling Sorien was just important enough to keep them there. Shard didn’t trust them but he didn’t have any other place to go. Sorien’s travels with him heading toward Deepshade had been rough and dangerous. The nightmare here had fed them and helped keep them safe. No demands or trade had been offered or needed. Sorien had told him she though the kitsu and ghoulian might just be a bit lonely. To that end he had grown just fine and had become something of a hunter to help the blood drinker. Sorien lived here and helped to keep the place clean. The nightmare Tav’mire was fair with them and seemed to keep in contact with other groups. They were eeking out a living well enough but Shard wondered if he could get more. Perhaps he should venture into the Deepshade properly to find more allies. The land was harsh enough with such a small group. Tav’mire never seemed to mind but Shard did. He wanted Sorien to stay safe. For now he was off to go get them something to eat. if Sorien was his adoptive mother then he would be a duitiful son
