[PRP] Learning the Land (Streamheart & Squirrelflight [&Bubble?])

There had been a time in her life where Streamheart would have looked down on the loners joining her clan, regarded them as just another mouth to feed. Luckily, she had gotten over that particular hatred as she had matured into adulthood and realized that not all loners were like her father. In fact, quite the opposite was true now, Streamheart was overjoyed to have new member added to her clan. With each new addition came new knowledge, new experence and Streamheart was eager to learn everything.

Today the stripped grey she-cat was tasked with patrol duty with Squirrelflight, which she was absolutely ecstatic about. Getting to show the newcomers the territory was almost like having an apprentice. Perhaps if she does a good job teaching the others about the ways of the clan, Tirgersnarl might actually grant her an apprentice next time. Streamheart could hardly contain her excitement at the thought.

First things first though, she needed to show Squirrelflight the territory boundries. Trotting out of the warrior den caves, Streamheart made her way across camp towards the exit and looked around for her patrol companion. Although she was thin, covered in dust, and looked tired beyond her moons, Streamheart lit up with joy as she spotted the other she-cat and waved her over with a few flicks of her tail.

"Hi! Squirrelflight, right? It's nice to finally meet you. I'm Streamheart and I'll be showing you some of the boarder today!" She mewed excitedly once the other she-cat was close enough to hear her.

If you had asked her a few moons prior if she ever expected to be a part of a large band of cats worshipping the sun she might have laughed, but here she was. It sounded ridiculous on its own, sure, but Squirrelflight was glad she hadn't declined the offer when it was presented to her. She had a purpose now, and cats to talk to! The downside--which was honestly a huge one--was the fact the clan was facing both famine and a drought, but the dangerously thrill-seeking side of her found that as just more of a reason to put herself out there. She could help, and something in her felt finally satisfied with that.
What she didn't feel satisfied with was the fact that cats thought she was angry at all times. It was a constant plight Squirrelflight was faced with; her face lacked a few key muscles, resulting in an inability to smile or convey "proper emotion". She had to overcompensate with a higher pitch and bubblier attitude that wasn't exactly genuine, but it at least stopped the clan from initially viewing her as a certain word that started with a 'b'.
So, she was particularly grateful when Streamheart was tasked to join her on Squirrelflight's first patrol. Streamheart had seemed even delighted at the opportunity, which had loosened nervous shoulders Squirrelflight hadn't known she had. Squirrelflight's head raised when the cat approached her, their own red and tan tail flicking in greeting.
"Hello!" Squirrelflight's voice rang sharp and high, already taxing but an effort to ensure the other knew exactly how excited she was, regardless of her face. "Where did you want to go first? I haven't seen much since I've joined."

For a moment, upon meeting Squirrelflight up close, Streamheart thought the other she-cat might be upset due to her expression but her tone conveyed otherwise. Still, should she ask if everything is okay? Or would it be rude to stick in nose into another cats business so soon? Eager to get moving out of the main camp, Streamheart put her concern in the back of her mind and brought her thoughts back to the task at paw.

"Let's fix that, shall we?" Streamheart said with a smile as she started moving towards the camp exit. "I think we should start up at the forest and work our way down to the old riverbed. We'll pass the fallen trees where the snakes live and the rock pile where the lizards hide." The excitement was clear in her voice as she rambled on.

Streamheart moved out of the camp with an ease that came with being raised in the ravine. As she made her way over the rocky terrain of the ravine to the dry dirt of the forest, the grey stripped she-cat looked over her shoulder to make sure Squirrelflight was following and keeping up okay. She knew that they should probably move quietly and try to hunt while on their patrol, but Streamheart couldn't help but ask questions, wanting to get to know her clanmate.

"So, Squirrelflight, where did you live before this? What kind of prey are you used to catching?" She asked hoping to get her daily companion talking to her. It was nice to be around someone new, even if Streamheart was bit confused as to why Squirrelflight looked so mad at her. As they walked Streamheart listened intently to everything her clanmate had to say, making mental notes here and there.
