Fernfire with his not so little anymore apprentice, Starpaw had grown like a weed during the time of apprenticeship and now.
They were out in the riverbed looking for moss and other herbs that might have popped up after a light rain recently. It was hard to tell if it was a sign or just a light shower.
He turned to his apprentice and took a good look at her. Sunclan had sent her when he was lonely, but she was no Littleflower, but neither was he, nor should she be treated like it. He remembers many a time the older warriors had said he wasn't making the progress his mother had during her apprenticeship to the ghostly figure of Dovetail. They were not really blessed by sunclan in that respect. He merely saw dead cats as a kit and chased after Dovetail all the way up the mountain. Then promptly made an apprentice of Littleflower.
"How are you liking being a medicine cat apprentice, young Starpaw?"
He asked with a slight tilt to his head. He was keeping an eye out for danger and for herbs, but it was truly Starpaw that should need to locate and find the moss as it was her assigned duty today
