While Streamheart cared for all the members of her clan, always checking to make sure they were eating or offering extra help where ever she could, the stripped grey she-cat could almost always be found doting on her mother, Pigeonflight. Today was no different and today's mission was to make sure Pigeonflight got some fresh kill. Though all of the members of MountainClan were thin, it always surprised Streamheart just how thin her mother was. Unfortunately, there was only one cure for such an ailment, more food. In order to make sure Pidge ate today, Streamheart was going to have to catch something; a feat she hadn't accomplished in many days.

Streamheart had convinced herself that her lack of successful hunts was due to being out by herself. Sure, she used to be good at hunting solo, back when play was plentiful, but time's had changed and hunting in teams was the way to go now. Honestly, she didn't know if having a hunting partner would be beneficial or not, but she had to do something. Nothing else she tried had worked, so why not? Besides, she almost always enjoyed her mother's company.

"Come on, I'm sure we'll find something today." Streamheart said in a hopeful tone, trying to coax Pigeonflight into going hunting with her. "I bet there will be something tasty down by the riverbed!" It was a false hope, but she clung to it regardless. They both knew that area was the first to be hunted clean, it would be a miracle from SunClan if they actually found anything. Still, Streamheart had to try, she couldn't just leave her mother in camp to let the depression set in, for either of them.

Pigeonflight sighed as Streamheart had to beg her to go outside today. She was sad that her clanmates decided to split, but she could not bear to leave Split or Floodkit behind. This mountain was home. Day by day, the senior grew weaker and weaker. Some days she wanted to just join the ranks of Sunclan, but it was days like these where she found some life in her again. Her motivation was mainly through Streamheart. She was such a caring daughter who deserved more than living through famine and working herself to practical death every day. She also knew it was best to just follow her daughter, at least one of them had to carry hope for the two.

"Today will be a lucky day for us," she coughed, trying to keep up. "You were named after water, and water is where we will find food blessed by Sunclan." Part of her also wished that Floodkit would be blessing them with a plentiful harvest today. "Did you know that fish was actually the first meal your father caught for me? Maybe we will catch some today."
