"I wonder if they would accept that as research? Everything N. Scatterbug considers food?" Oliver questioned the air. Well, he was just going to go with that. Oliver started to take notes, watching Mimic taste different items. Leaves, bark, some gross looking fungal slime? Oliver wasn't sure what that was growing on the rocks, outside of disgusting looking.
Mimic seemed to have considered it disgusting considering he hadn't continued shoving it in his mouth, instead backing away with a little hiss.
"Well, perhaps you shouldn't shove strange stuff in your mouth." Oliver replied, watching Mimic crawl up his boot to attempt to chew at the laces. "Yeah, not food." He watched the but make his way up his leg, little legs digging into the fabric of his pants to haul himself up. "I think we established I'm not food." He wiggled his fingers at the bug, ignoring the naughty little snap of the bug's jaws.
"Mmhm." He scratched the bugs scruff, watching him squirm and then push into the touch. "Yeah, you like that hmm?" Oliver sighed as the bug attempted to bite his shirt sleeve and paused, spitting out a thread. "Yeah, not food again."
"I'm not feeding you either, you have gorged yourself enough."
