Nalanna held her newly acquired torchic in her arms. She hadn't excepted to get a new Pokémon so easily coming to Nauwillian. The scientist and other researchers who had made it to the island before her had discovered had their own type of Torchic that was different from the ones in the past regions. With that in mind that they were different it was cautioned about brining other regional Pokémon into the new area for fear of invasive species. Which Nalanna understood and was glad that she was given the opportunity. Being as shy as she was Nalanna let others go ahead of her for the fear and anxiety of being around new people in a new place without anything or anyone she knew. But by some luck Nalanna happened to sit under a shady tree in a meadow with berry bushes all around. She felt that it was a good spot to wait for people to come back and the population out there died down.
~Previously before getting her Torchic~
It was morning when Nalanna had entered the area and as she sat under the tree staring up at the sky she hadn't realized how much time had passed. She would nod her head politely at anyone that had walked past her as they left the area. Some had Torchics, some had Bulbasaurs and others Totodile. She was amazed and interested at the different colors that she seen leave the area. It excited her. She wasn't sure what she was going to get and would be happy with whatever she got. She glanced up at the sky and noticed that it was already the afternoon. She felt that enough people had left that she could wonder threw the area and not run into anyone. She knew she would have to get used to it and face it but she wasn't ready just yet. Before leaving the area she gathered up a pocket full of the edible berries. It was good to have a snack while searching for Pokémon, she didn't want to run out of energy. With her pockets full she headed out.
She wasn't sure for how long she walked as the canopy of trees hid the sun well but didn't black it out. It made her feel at peace as the wildlife talked around her. She knew the wildlife took notice of her passing and she talked quietly out load to them to reassure them that they were fine. When she realized that wasn't working she decided to stop by a river and let them have their peace. So by the river she sat. She decided to take off her socks and shoes and let her feet dangle into the water. As she did she pulled out the berries and tossed a couple berries in her mouth before she began to softly sing. She had been so wrapped up in her song she hadn't noticed something approach. Not until some berries were snatched out of her hand. This caused her to Mew loudly in fright, the berries got tossed up in the air. She glanced over to find a torchic peeking and snatching up the berries she had dropped in glee. She sat still as it ate and was shocked that it was so close. After it had ate most of the berries the torchic tilted its head at her and chirped. She chirped back to see what would happen and the torchic jumped into her lap and stared up at her. She slowly pulled a berry out of her pocket and gave it to the torchic which it happily snatched up and that was all that was wrote. The torchic decided to stick with her after that and it became her first Nauwillian Pokémon.
