"Hello! Welcome to Mom's garden, the best spot to get snails!" You're greeted by a pair of ten year old twins, both bouncing in excitement. One has brightly colored snails all over, some perched on his head, others on his shoulder. The other, the one that spoke, holds a small bug case with a few snails in it. "Wanna see our racers? Or maybe you'd like to decorate one for Show? Anyway, c'mon!" The two turn and skip into the garden, already full of people come to look at the snails.

Non-RP Rules
1. Follow Basilisk Stew's ToS and the Adopts/Pet Shop forums rules.
2. No cheating, this includes, but is not limited to, deleting posts, editing posts, and using mules/alt accounts.
3. Do not copy, steal, edit, resell or claim you made the art.
4. Do not guilt trip to attempt to get someone to gift you a pet, or withdraw their entry for a pet.
5. If you do not win a pet, do not whine and bitch about it.
6. Just be decent people and nice to each other. Please do not make me need to add 30 rules, use your common sense.
7. If you need to contact the shop staff, please PM or @ sheepcakes.

CosPlay Rules
1. You cannot name a CosPlay after the character it is based on. Example, if you get Beau from Animal Crossing you may not name your pet Beau. You may name the pet Beauty, Buae, Beua, etc.
2. If a character has names in multiple languages, you may not use any name that is their official canon name. Example, Beau from Animal Crossing is also known as Stefaon, Martin, Lope and Gigi. So you may not use any of those names. However, you could use Jiji or Jigi or Loep or Martie or Steven or Stephen.
3. This rule includes Pokémon, so if you get a Pikachu cosplay, you may not name it Pikachu.
4. You may name a CosPlay after an attribute the character it is based on has. So you can name Beau Saltlick, after his original catch phrase. You could name Pikachu after a move it can learn, or an ability it has.
5. This rule does not apply if you get a fusion. Say you want Beau's markings but in Julian's colors. As this is not a pure CosPlay, you could name the pet Beau or Julian.
6. There can be more than 1 of a CosPlay. So if 50 people want Beau, there will be 50 pets based on Beau.
7. If you have a CosPlay that is named for its character that was certed in the old Gaia shop, you will not be asked to rename them.
8. Anyone found to be boasting that their CosPlay is the true and/or real CosPlay of a character, will be banned from obtaining through any means, any further CosPlays. If a person still insists on doing this, they will be banned from the shop.

RolePlay Rules
1. No god mode or god-modding.
2. Don't kill the snails or slugs. Ever.
3. Don't hurt the snails or slugs either.
4. Snails and slugs cannot talk to you in any way. They can understand you on a similar level that a dog or cat irl can.
5. Snails and slugs can talk to each other.
6. Follow any rules posted in the group.

::Insert Town Name:: Town is a bustling place, full of people. Some of those people are even children. Teddy and Tommy are ten year old twins, who discovered that Mom's garden produces some interesting snails.

So they've started a little pet shop in the back yard, selling these colorful, and very shiny, molluscs to whoever may want one. Or two. Or a hundred. They don't care how old you are, be you toddler or adult, so long as you have credits to pay, or items to trade, you can have a snail of your own.

For those who would like more than a pretty friend to sit in a terrarium, there are races and shows. There are even types of snails, called racers and show (they're 10 give them a break). Racers, you guessed it, race. And they go pretty darn fast too, at least for a snail. Show snails have a little bit bigger shell, giving more space to decorate them.

There are even prizes for winning races and shows. Teddy and Tommy have polished some bottlecaps to be race medals, and tied some bows to be prize ribbons for shows. These can be used to decorate your snail journal, and may even be used to get perks when doing further dealings with the twins.
((More will be added about caps & bows later))

Color Your Own Snails
Currently CYO Snails are unavailable.

CYO snails are only available when there is a CYO event. These snails are not show or racers. Instead, they're breeders. This means they give a +1 baby perk per CYO parent in a breeding. There will never be egg or baby stages of the CYO base. Babies from CYO snails will always be rolled as racer or show snails.

Snails and slugs found in Mom's garden are usually baby or adult, rarely the twins will find eggs. Breeding snails or slugs will always result in eggs, and about 1 week later the eggs will hatch. From hatchling to adult is about 2 weeks. Times are regardless how the snail is obtained.
Snails and slugs are hermaphrodites, so there is no male or female art. Instead you get racer or show. Snails made for events will be listed what type they are. Snails customed will be owners choice, or CC. If breeding a racer with a show, there is a 50% chance for a baby to be one or the other, rolled per baby.

Mom's garden is full of flowers of every kind. Any flower you could think of, you'll find it here. Snails are also very easy to find here, and come in as many colors as you can think of. This spot is where the twins will have two ways to obtain snails. The first is snails they caught, which come as is. The second is by going into the garden and looking for snails yourself. Which means you can be picky and only catch ones you like the colors of. You can't be too picky, though, as designs and markings might not be exactly what you had in mind.

Pre-caught snails
Price: tba
None at the moment

Snail hunt
Price:
The first catch you make each month is free
An additional catch is 3 credits
You may catch a total of 2 snails/slugs a month this way.
These are semis, so if you manage to catch one, you can pick if it is racer or show, and colors/an image, all the rest is up to me. If you pick growing it will start as baby stage, not egg stage.

To attempt to catch a snail, roll 1 d100 (one 100 sided die) or RnG 1 to 100, if you get 13 or 42 or 88 you caught a snail.
You may roll once every 1 hour.
If you hit one of the listed numbers, post here using your form and linking your winning roll.

You earn ribbons for shows, which Teddy very carefully tied into bows.
Blue ribbon is 1st place
Gold ribbon is 2nd place
Pink ribbon is 3rd place

Looks like there's no shows at the moment ((aka sheep needs to figure out mechanics))

Only adult snails may breed, and the twins are very careful to avoid inbreeding by direct lines ((ie sibling x sibling, parent x child, etc)). When breeding snails that have accessories, they might pass on, should Teddy or Tommy want to gift one or two. Snails with unique features might pass on their characteristics to one or more offspring. ((aka both edit types are CC and in no way guaranteed.))

Generally the eggs will have at least some hint of what the snail or slug will look like. The leaf, however, shows what type and species it is. Show snails are a dark green-blue (top left), show slugs are a light green-blue (bottom left). Racer snails are a dark green-yellow (top right), racer slugs are a light green-yellow (bottom right).

Snails may breed with any snail type, as well as any slug type. Slugs may breed with any slug type, or any snail type.
Racer and Show may breed together as well.
There will never be hybrids for mixed breedings. Mixed breeding will always be rolled to see which baby is what species, and then show or racer. When breeding frill x regular, where 1 parent is a snail and 1 is a slug it will be CC if the frill/regular passes to the baby of the opposite type. IE frilled snail x regular slug could have frilled slug and/or regular snail babies.
Rolls will be done with 1 d4 for each baby, and will be stated when rolled what evens/odds will decide, ie evens = frilled slug, odds = smooth snail.
When rolling for snail/slug and show/racer it will be done in 2 separate roll posts.
Roll posts will happen in the custom thread of the colorist doing them.

Breedings that have at least one gen 2 parent might have throwbacks, at the colorist's choice. Meaning if you breed a show smooth snail G2 and a show frilled slug G1, and the G2's parents are a show smooth snail and a racer frilled slug, you might end up with a racer baby. These are completely CC and will not require a roll/s unless the breeding is obtained via an event that asks for throwback information.

Breedings have a minimum base of 3 and a maximum base of 5 as rolled on Gaia's RnG
Basic breedings are obtained through regular breeding slots and bribe breeding slots.
If you redeem all +1s, the max clutch size is 9.

It is possible to get more babies at the colorist's discretion. This is most likely to happen if a colorist decides to twin a baby, or through special events. Do not ask for extra babies.

Clutch modifiers
You may add +1 baby for a newbie, anyone with 3 or less snails/slugs.
You may add +1 baby via RP points (not currently active)
You may add +1 baby if one or both parents have a grand prize token to turn in. Grand prize tokens are earned by taking 1st place in a race or show. Each token is good for 1 breeding, redeemed when the owner chooses. Do not redeem 2 or more tokens, you may only redeem 1 per breeding.
If one parent is a CYO snail you may add +1 baby. You may do this for each CYO parent involved.

But who keeps the babies?
If you have 5 or more eggs, each owner may keep 2 of them. If a colorist gives extra babies in a breeding, it may come with the stipulation that each owner keep only 1 baby, so pay close attention. Event breedings may also have this same stipulation.
Aside from that, if a newbie baby was claimed it must go to a newbie. Anyone found using alt accounts or mules will be banned from this shop and all future shop events/activities.
After that, it is up to the parent owners what to do with the remaining babies. Babies cannot be sold for credits, real money, or other virtual/game currency or items. Babies may not be traded for other pets, or for the promise of a future breeding/offspring from a future breeding. Any babies offered, must be done so for free.

To see if breedings are open, look in the breedings sub-forum.

Accessories are ways to make your snail look pretty. Some even give stat boosts, to help them win. There is a maximum of 3 stat boost items allowed to be used on 1 snail.

Right now accessories will be made as Sheep has time to, any accessories Wish makes for non-event snails are her choice how they are used. Do not bug Wish about using them.

Accessory suggestions are welcome, but there is no promise they will be made. Accessories may be recolored, but it will have the same stat boost, or lack of, as the original accessory.

by sheepcakes:

Bows 1, 2 & 3
Single bow 1, 2 & 3

by Wish

Show: Ribbon, Clover & Wing
Racer: Flags*, Scarf & Exhaust
*flags can have simple designs scribbled on, as well as multiple colors (up to 5, 4 for flag and 1 for scribble)

To see what is available for customs, look in the customs sub-forum.

Do not bother Wish about customs, if she wants to make snails she is free to offer them in the group or main thread.

There are no set prices for customs, they are all pay what you want/bribe.

1. Do I need to RolePlay them?
Not at all. These are mostly just to be cute. RolePlay will have perks, though, both in the form of extra baby in breedings, and in stat boosts.

2. How many can I have?
As many as you have gold to buy them with. There's no limit.

3. Is co-owning allowed?
Nope.

4. Can my character talk to my snail?
Yes, but your snail won't understand. Snails can talk to each other though. They're magical beasts, so they've got a bit more intelligence than your average snail. Probably about like a smart dog. So they may be able to pick up commands, but there will not be any conversing going on.

5. How much does a snail cost?
Depends on how you obtain it. Prices will be listed with each batch. Some will have set prices, some will be pay what you want. Bribes will always be pay what you want, but at minimum it should be more than average price.

6. I don't see a gender for my snail?
Snails are hermaphrodites, so they have both male and female reproductive organs. So any snail can breed with any other snail.

7. Is there a name rule?
Yes, no profanity or any other thing that is not allowed on Basilisk Stew. And it has to fit the cert. Other than that feel free to name your snail Snorblflax or Bob or Sara. Oh, and names do not need to be unique.
However, if someone has a unique name, it would be in bad taste to copy it without asking first.

8. I got a snail/slug from the old shop, can I use it here?
Absolutely! If you lost your cert, PM or @ sheepcakes with your Gaia Online username and she will look it up for you.

9. Can I show these off on other sites?
Yes! sheepcakes and Wish both have a DA and TH so if you need something posted or transferred over please @ sheepcakes. If you display them on sites that are not BS, DA or TH, you must link back to this thread.
