To learn, please RP your Kitsu studying plants, roots, etc in nature.

Salis was trying to study the tea tree while he was here in Torrland. He had gotten sick here from a mold that formed on a plant. He as a druid was going to study the plants and creatures of this land to make sure that such a thing would not cross over through the portal to Athas as well where it might take off and damage that land as well. The roots seemed perfectly normal. He opened up a small pouch and examined the dried ingredients he had gotten from the market. The flowers that were used in the tea were already breaking apart and gave off a soft aroma that was soothing to his nose. The little black seeds were scattering hiding in his fur as soon as he turned the bag slightly. They were far smaller then he had thought they would be. He could see why birds would like them. The berries were supposedly a bright color while the small seeds inside were so small they got stuck in the lining of his bag. Perhaps that was one reason why the plant was so common here in Torrland. The seeds would become distributed by migrating birds and other animals making this a common tree in the area even if the flowering season was so short and it only seemed to have one. It must produce a large number of these little seeds and they would scatter far and wide increasing the odds of taking root somewhere. He made note to look into a library later to confirm his guess and if it had not been put to theory he would offer it as such for some scholar to study. He didn't’ think he was the scholarly type like Orin was but he felt far more at home with nature and it made more sense to him. Perhaps that was why he was a druid. In truth he just couldn’t imagine doing another job. He fished around in his bag some more and pulled out some more ingredients he had gathered her in Torrland. The dried Albell flowers looked the same as those in the Merry Woods and Golden plains. Perhaps an alchemist might be able to figure out some small difference but the plant behaved the same in both regions as far as he could tell. Leaving the tea tree moved along further down his path. He was still learning so much about the plants in Torrland compared to those in Athas some Cathiss caught his eye an he stopped to smell it. It was a very pleasant scent. He noticed the plant was wrapped around another plant that had it’s leaves already wilting in the center and the edges started to turn slightly yellow. It was a soft looking flower that’s scent was being obscured by the Cathiss. As it was one he wasn’t familiar with he gently unwound the strangling plant from it’s victim and started to dig up the new strange plant. He was being particularly careful with the roots in case this was something special. He noticed it had a shallow but spread out root system wide base short leaves and small flowers coming out from it. They were a soft pale purple. It would have been a very pretty plant were it not already half dead from being strangled.

Taking the flower he started back to the local library to find out exactly what kind of plant this was. This was how it went. He would go out and fetch a new plant and study it from the library or local Kitsu who were willing to share knowledge. If he was lucky enough to meet someone in the woods he would get what knowedge he could not only that but sometimes it was just easier to watch a plant for the day. Though plants didn't speak you could tell so much from watching their nature such as the Cathiss taking over and strangling other plants or how the seeds from the tea tree were compared to other seeds.
