To start every player is given 1 free earth pony MYO, one common weapon from the shop, and 2 flowers of minor life.
Lets go over what these are
A MYO stands for Make Your Own. you are given an earth pony base matching the gender you want for your pony. On this base design a mane and tail and then color it in. you may also add your choice of x2 accessories (weapons are included in this). But these are optional.
For earth ponies there is no restrictions on colors or marking
There are no restrictions on hair styles
Keep all clothing victorian at the most modern anything before that in style and general fantasy are all okay. Just don't make it modern looking.
Earth ponies do not have wings or horns
Once you have the design done take the pony to the approvals and certing thread.
You will notice the form there asks for the following info
Username: (your username)
Name: (ponys name)
Gender: (what gender your pony identifies as)
Race: (the species/ race your pony is. Earth in the case of your first MYO)
Class: (the job your pony has. There are several classes to choose from read about them in the class guide)
Now if there is a problem with design a mod will let you know how to fix it. Once your design is approved what happens? Well first the pony is added to the compendium, and then the cert is added to your tracker.
Once the pony is in these two places you can start playing with it.
Going on Explorations can earn you everything from the group currency (golden Horseshoes) to rare items and gear to even more MYO or customs.
battle in the training grounds will net you exp items and or golden horseshoes.

Leveling up also has its advantages see the leveling up guide
Finally we get to what the flower of minor life is for. If your pony dies (reaches 0 HP) during a battle or exploration you have the choice to kill the character forever and get rewards based on their level or you can resurrect them with a flower but take a penalty of going back a level
To resurrect a pony or to kill them off visit the Death and resurrection thread
Now i'm sure your asking, well what else can I do?
Keep an eye on the shop thread for events and game
RP your pony with others player run campaigns using the system here more than welcome though they earn EXP like normal RPs not explorations
Write or draw about your pony all art of them counts for EXP
And finally you can collect as many ponies as you like!
