The Realms and Gates

What is a Realm?
A Realm is what the Kitsusagi call their lands. Each Realm is separated from the others - floating in its own pocket of reality. No one knows why the gods originally decided to do this, and likely no one ever will. What matters, is that there is no way to physically travel from one Realm to another. The only way to visit another Realm is through a Gate, or by using other powerful magic usually held only by the gods.

Kitsusagi breeds each have a Home Realm. This is the Realm where they were first created, and is the source of their life force and magical abilities. Kitsusagi may choose to live outside their Home Realm, but they must go back to visit it from time to time in order to replenish their magic and life force. If a Kitsusagi is unable to visit their Home Realm for too long, they will not be able to breed, grow Faded, and eventually die.

What is a Gate?
A Gate is a magical portal that allows Kitsusagi to step through and instantly travel from one place to another. There are both Lesser and Greater Gates. A Lesser Gate allows travel within the same Realm from one place to another. A Greater Gate allows travel from one Realm to another. There is usually only one Greater Gate in each Realm and any number of Lesser Gates. Greater Gates were created by the gods after they created the Realms. Lesser Gates were later created by Kitsusagi who found a way to mimic the gods' Gates on a less powerful scale.
Which Gates are open?
Right now there is a lesser gate open to the land of cold and home of the Tundras on Athas to the rest of Athas as well as a major Gate connecting the realm of Athas and Torreland

Why do Kitsusagi fade?
Being creatures of magic Kitsusagi are tied to their home realms to help sustain their lives and prevent them from fading away. A Kitsusagi cut off from their home realm will fade in a period of 3-6 years, depending on strength of the individual Kitsusagi. If their home realm is connected through an active Gate, it could be up to around 10 years before effects get really dangerous. As there is a small amount of magic coming through an active gate. It does not take much for a Kitsusagi to recharge to avoid fading. All they have to do is head back to their home realm for a day or two. Those few hybrids born may pull magic form either realm that supports their breed.

The Realm of Athas
Athas is often thought of as the 'main' realm amongst all the realms as it is one of the largest. It is home to the angelic, nightmare, normal and tundra races. It is were much of the wars of the past were fought and when the breaking of the realms happened it was torn apart from the other realms for the longest of times and is now slowly reconnect to the other realms. The realm is home to a vast variety of landscapes and scenery as well as old ruins and shrines that have been lost to time and long forgotten to time.

The races have been known to still have smaller conflicts over time and do not always get along but any battles fought to recent memory still pale in comparison to the history of the realm before the breaking. There are several small towns and a large number of villages that are scattered around the realm. With the recent returning of the gods a number of these sites have been rediscovered and started to be in use once more.

Features of the Land
Lake of Ethereals
This lake is by far the largest in Athas. It touches the dead lands, plains, and even a southern forest. It is something that has stood since the time of the beginning of the land. It is said there are old ruins under the lake form an ancient underwater city but of course modern scholars dismiss this myth as no Kitsusagi could breath deep enough to check.

Marshall Fields
Often called the starting lands it is home to many starting adventurous kitsu who want to train themselves in an area where they can see most ambushes coming and there are few large predators that they cannot avoid. There are a number of farms and small villages that have sprung up. Not only that there are two larger cities toward the center of the fields that much of the trade in the area revolves around.

North Watch Forest
A forest to the northeast that is known more for it's large lake then it's dangers, though there are many. North of the forest there are swamp lands that start to deadened out like the dead lands to the south but no one knows why that is.

Silver Peaks
Name given to the mountain range that are the southern mountain range ending in a lake and old shrine that has recently been found and come back to use. The mountains are chilly and dangerous if one is not experienced. The weather on mountains changes quickly making it extra hard to transverse.

Ghost Sands
Commonly called the dead lands it is a sandy dessert where there is very low vegetation and very low prey. Kitsu who often get lost in these lands die. Living here is harsh and few are capable. Legends say this was the site of large magical effect that killed the land and if you stand at the edge of a sandstorm you can still hear the screams of the dead ghosts who lost their lives then. Sandstorms are frequent, changing the landscape making it impossible to make an accurate map of the land.

Crystal Waters
An oasis deep in the Ghost Sands. It is said the Goddess of Earth wept for the souls who died when the land changed during the war and it is her tears that made the oasis. Still other tales tell of her shaping these lands to give respite for the lost. Either way, those who find their way to place find it hard not to imagine it as a gift from the Goddess as it is a paradise in the horror of the Ghost Sands.

South Watch Forest
Like it's counterpart to the northeast, the forest is vast and deep. There are many ruins and graves of the past hidden deep in the woods. Many adventurous kitsu go to the forest to find a new herb or plant to get their name recorded in the history books. It has a large number of dangers hidden in the forest. Will your kitsu be brave enough to venture forth and chart the land?

Midnight Marsh
Between the South Watch forest the North Watch forest there is a marsh nestled outside the Ghost Sands. The marsh is vibrant and full of life that seems to drain out itself as one heads toward the Ghost Sands. The land seems to seep with a mucky foul water that if used for farming is very fertile but it has a unique smell. It also is hard to transport as it is as thin as water and easily leaks while as a mass it sucks heavy things under it surface quickly. There are many who have buried jars in the land only to dig them up and find them perfectly preserved by the marsh.

Mammoth River
This massive river twists and spiders across Athas. It has a number of lakes and branch offs. Many kitsu travel up and down the river and there are a fair number of small towns that find themselves stationed along it's banks.

Revival Lake
Located in the North Watch forest this large lake holds a large number of stories. Some say a God was born or died in this area. Others say it was formed from the tears of the Gods as they left the realms. Many also say the lake is a place to leave your past life behind and start your life anew. At midnight on a moonless night a number of brave souls travel to the lake to find out for themselves.

Places of Interest
Guardian Grove
A small but steadily growing town that was founded by Guardians in the Marshall Fields. Other than the large amount of Guardians in leadership positions, this town is notable for a large gate in the middle of their town square. Most housing and buildings are built with the Guardians size in mind but larger homes for Kitsusagi have started to be built on the outer edges.

Hollow Vale
A Nightmare run city that is hidden at the edge of the Ghost Sands. Part of the city is hidden under the land in a series of caves. Caves often host gatherings, such as markets, which have been known to clear out overnight without a word. The strong rule the city and often send out kitsusagi into the Ghost Sands as a challenge or as punishment. There is one cave that never changes it supposedly is a home for the god of darkness Seth. Few would willingly go there uninvited as to do so would mean Seth's wrath.

Lofeal
A city high in the clouds where Angelics live freely. As the city is in the clouds you would need wings to get up there. Angelics can often be heard singing of their sky home and it is depicted beautifully in painting but few mention how cold it is living up so high.

Pathrie
A large city in the northern of the center of Marshall Fields. It is home to a large number of Earthborn kitsusagi. It is large and bustling with a fair amount of inventive kitsusagi. While it is hailed as the 'Earthborn' city, it does get frequented by a large number of other breeds of kitsusagi.

Shiver Dell
Home the the magically inclined Tundra. The land often has a cold breeze even in the midst of summer. There are a number of Tundra that have made themselves useful to trade by functioning as guides and guards to help others get to and from the Shiver Vale. The folk there are hearth and welcoming to stranger to manage to come all the way to see them. There is a minor gate that has connected the home to the rest of the world.

Neaver Hope
The large city below Pathrie in the Marshall Fields. It was established after the breaking of the realms by those who wanted peace. It is often called the city of hope though like any other city it has it's darker undersides. Still many come to this city to start out and interact with other breeds of kitsu. It has a flourishing adventurous community. There is a large gate here tended by guardians and Kitsusagi both allowing for travel across the realms.

Ruins
Many ruins do the land and are home to a number of ghosts and stories of ghosts. Some are well known and toured by guides telling the stories of the past and some are undiscovered with traps still set in them.

Library of Ages
A tower that is known as the tower of knowledge. It was long abandoned but has become active once more. Many who seek a quite life of study and contemplation have come to study here. There are books on many topic such as agriculture, the past, warfare, healing, magic, child rearing. Almost anything one would want to research can be found here.

Shrines
Much like ruins there are several shrines that have dotted the land and some of them have become quite well known as the deities have come back.
Everlight Lake
A Lake fed by snow melt from the nearby Silver Peaks. Spring seems to come to this lake a little early and as big as it can go. Its as if a divine hand took to gardening and landscaping as everything has a place. Before the return of Eva, There was some debate over which Goddess blessed these lands. A shining, white, round, marble Pavilion sits on the edge of the lake and Eva can often be spotted here during the Spring.
Cave of Darkness
In Hollow Vale, a cave that never changes can be found by the lucky, or perhaps unlucky, and the invited. Away from the lights of the city, steps die as you go deeper in the cave. The space becomes so narrow you can hardly breath as you try and slide past. Once past the point where all air leaves your lungs the cave opens up to a large cavern where some light and indigenous plants reside. There is water coming in as well. This place is a quiet resting place for the God of Darkness Seth himself where he invites those close to him and uninvited guests are dealt with based on his whims of the moment. He may often be found here if not at his other shrines.
Fanfold Theater
In Marshall Fields there is an old amphitheater that always looks as though it was reclaimed by nature even though it does get cleared every few years. From the air it looks like an unfolded dancers fan with a stone flat path walkway serving as dancer's ribbon to the seats and stage. At the base of the stage there always seem to be a few shiny though worthless stones scattered about and there is an inscription. "Your value isn't determined in the market stalls but in your own souls. Stand on any stage you want and make it your own." Kitsu often come here to perform plays or sing to themselves and sometimes a small audience if someone has come to watch.
Telas
A popular place that kitsu come to party and play it is located just north of the Lake of Ethereals in the forest. It is well known for it's ground and tree shops. Many young kitsu enjoy running up and down the rope steps while hard wood bridges have been built into the sides of several trees for those who are a bit older and don't want the exercise. Just outside of the busy part of Telas there is a quitter small place that has been partly absorbed by the city. The quitter part is called Lapice and is known as a quite resort many come to rest and sleep on vacation. The busy side of Telas by the lake is busy with fishing as well as several active beaches.

The Realm of Torrland

Torrland or Torran for short is a smaller realm when compared to Athas but in no way loosing out to its larger counter part. It hosts a glorious Mountain with a large number of diverse farmlands with a wide range of growable vegetables and herbs as well as crystal pure springs that reflect light as though gems are dancing on the surface. It is hone to Kirin and Fauna and was at one time home to nightmares though they were driven out by the Kirin.

The more well traveled paths in the land tend to connect the towns and farmlands together across rolling hills there are several that lead to forests for hunting and gathering. Many of the darker regions remain unexplored. Many a Fauna mother will tell her children that tainted ones. (Nightmares) haunt the caves and will devour bad kits. Farmlands tends to vary in form based on the crops that grow at that elevation. The ground is fertile but many of the paths are rough and lined with stones that have been dug up from the fields. There are small drainage ditches near the towns to help with rain overflow as well as small built reservoirs to store water in case of a drought.

The Fauna and Kirin live in peace in these lands with the Kirin having formed a ruling council having driven out the tainted ones when they threatened the Fauna. Many Fauna deffer to the Kirin without question while many Kirin tend to be more aloof focusing on their protecting duty and purification of the lands waters. Only time will tell if the nightmare coming through the gate will start a war with Athas or give the Kirin peace of mind that not all nightmare kitsu are tainted.

Features of the Land

Blue mountains
Home of the council of Kirin. it is said one can only travel there with an invitation from the council directly though many Fauna know the way. Descriptions of the city of the Kirin vary from elegant and gleaming to cold and distant depending on who is spoken to. It is said that if you stare the Blue mountains at the first light of the sun cresting the mountains the city glimmers and the reflection of it can be seen at a distance.

Remembrance Woods
It is said to have been the last place the tainted ones were located before being driven from the land. It is very overgrown and seems to lurk with shadows at every turn. There seems to be a presence that looms ever overhead even on the brightest of days. A night whistling can be heard from the woods from a very unusual species of bird considered to be bad luck.

Vineyards of Viengem
A large series of farms that have dedicated themselves just the creation of wine from different kinds of fruits. They are well known in the area with a Strainvein on their label that wraps around it. Each farm states it makes the best kinds of wine and several also brew other kinds of alcohol. it is not a joke to say they could bring enough alcohol to make a whole town drunk if they tried. Many decent alchemists can be found in these farms plying their trade to improve the product.

Spider Bog
Supposedly a bog that lies on the other side of Remembrance woods. it has an unpleasant odor and is home to many poisonous insects. Many Kitsu try to keep their kits from exploring to this place as it is highly dangerous and only for seasoned adventurers.

Trading River
A large river that many Fauna and Kirin use to travel around the land to quickly get from town to town. During the harvest and spring it is often congested with many boats and pontoons in sections that have since come to be known for trading and doing business right on the river rather then getting all the way to the town that was once their goal. During the summer and winter there is still trading and business it is not as congested though during all seasons a healthy fishing industry can be found along the banks.

Lake of serenity
A large lake that was made by creating a reservoir outside of the City of Pure Waters. This lake is held back by a large damn and often checked and inspected by Kirin. The water exists as a back up in the event of drought in other towns. Dispite it's large size much of the lake is clear and it is possible to see fish swimming in deep depths. This has become a popular place for many kitsu to travel to and watch the sun both rise and set at.

Places of interest

Gate Grove
A landing point just outside of the town of Bree that was the first introduction that kitsu of Athas encountered. The gate is on a large stone surface that has small amounts of moss growing between the stones. It's clear the area hasn't been traveled in in a while though a small group of guardians still tends to the area to welcome visitors and guide them to town.

Bree
A farming just outside the gate lead by the mayor John Greenleaf who is skeptical of the trouble the outsiders will bring to his town. Dipsite this the town in welcoming and friendly with abundant fields and a fairly famous inn the Gleaming Scale Inn. The market is busy most days with the weekend being the busiest times. Kitsu from many other farms travel to Bree to take advantage of the market and trade with one another. Kirin are often found in this town due to the presence of the gate which they often come to check on claiming it as part of their duty.

Gleaming Scale Inn
Found in the town of Bree it is known as a cozy establishment with a small covered landing in the front with seating as leading to a round door. Blue green glass covering the windows. The smell of meat and herbs is often wafting around the place The inn is full of wooden furniture and is bigger than you expected for a business built into a hillside. It is a very popular spot for adventures to visit.

Oath Stone
Surrounded by a thriving field of Solemn Promise flowers next to a series of streams the Oath Stone has no one town near it and there is a well traveled path to the area no cart is allowed in the field and there is an inn just outside of it for those traveling to see the stone. It is said this was a place where the Kirin announced their pledge to protect Torrland from the tainted and take back the land. It has sense become a place for many to come and make deep oaths they feel are binding to them. More then once has marriage vows been said here. To break an oath that is sworn at the stone is to bestow on one a cursed life. Many also come to the stone to remember those past as most have taken oaths here at one point or another.

Ladlain
A trading and building town known for it's smithinging and crafts. Some of the best wagons of Torrland are made by the Fauna here. They are proud and innovative builders who often can get themselves in trouble and are always looking for new ideas and materials to work with. More then one architect has come from this town. They are most proud of their quarry and libraries. They are friendly enough when spoken with but may seem a bit brash. Still the kitsu in this town are hardy and strong in heart as they are with their paws.

Fenvrie
A smaller town that can be found outside of Remembrance Woods. It is known for it's leathers and forest gathering. Many Fauna here still remain very superstitious and fear Nightmares. Their unfriendly glances at these Kitsu are equal with their adoration of the Kirin who saved them from the 'tainted ones'. Often times small twigs tied together in the shape of Kirins can be found in doorways and on window ledges to bring good luck. Kits who play in the streets will often have one kit being the evil tainted one while the rest run and hide from them. Though the purging of the tainted ones was long ago so no Fauna can remember it living so close to the woods has left those living here with some paranoia.

Xalic
A farming town that considers itself the rival of Bree the folk are welcoming and proud of their produce and trade. They put a lot of work into their festivals and treat outsiders with welcome paws. The don't have a prestigious inn like Bree but they do have a good number of storage buildings for trade as they are close to the river. Their market has a large square used for dancing and they have even devoted a dance hall to traveling bards to prepare for shows.

The City of Pure Waters
No city in all of Torrland compares to the City of Pure Waters except for perhaps the City of Kirin, though since that places is closed to all but the Kirin the City of Pure Waters is the greatest city in the land. it sits at the base of the blue mountains and has next to a reservoir lake made by the Kirin in case of drought in the other towns. The water if plentiful and there are small fountains in many spots in the town to the point where many in the town give directions based on the names of the fountains instead of streets or squares. Those who live in this city are often well to do and often could be looked at an upper echelon of sorts in the land.

The Realm of Kindieth

Kindieth a realm of mountains and plateaus. It does have varied environments in some areas much of it is cold. The gate itself opens up on a vast plateau where the blinding sun strikes a natural marble vein that makes it seem as those there there path laid out before any new comers and indeed it is a smooth path. The gate is always guarded by warriors flanking either side as a well tested tradition the native imperials have taken to hart.

There are series of bridges some of wood and others build and carved in great arches of stone across deep crags. The wind whistles in an number of carved statues making a melody that dances across areas at first they seem random until one sits and listens for a long time and finds that a master carver and musician perhaps both has made them.

Many cities seem like they have a scattered design spiraling at random until they are looked at from a certain perch around the city and it revealed that the paths and sometimes even the buildings themselves have been shaped into art work to inspire different emotions.

Features of the Land

Rainbow Rock
There is a natural structure the sits lower in the mountains leaving a warmer temperature. It has bands of color likes waves on sand stretching up it's face a large flat plateau stands atop this mass. hidden from sight are a number of caves that can be stumbled across while climbing. The inside of the mesa is a honeycomb of tunnels that hold a number of creatures that are dangerous as well as beneficial. There are a variety of minerals as well as subterranean mosses that can be found. Only the brave will venture in and risk getting lost

Aurora Pass
Aurora pass in the harsh cold land of the imperials there is a river way that when traversed at night may travelers are treated to a wondrous surprise. The sky splits and dances with a myriad of colors. The imperials who are familiar with it often take those they feel close to here to view the night sky to enjoy it. The temperature drops so quickly that ice forms along the edge of the riverbank having those that travel it keep well bundled up

Mellish Marshes
A marshland in a deep lowland of the realm that is home to a number of creatures. A wooden boardwalk has been made to snake through the marshes much to the delight of the local birdwatchers or those who just enjoy nature. Still it is never advised to go at night as it is said that some scarier creatures come out at night. Those honestly more mothers tell their kits this just to keep them out of trouble. Any time a warm front comes in it often is covered by a large amount of mist.

Whisper falls.
A solemn spring at the base of a waterfall. it has an eerie quietness over the area. it is said whispers of secrets from all over the world can be heard if you listen to the opening of the small caves right at the level of the water. Of course everyone who has been there has never been able to reveal a real secret heard but it has become a popular place to dare friends to go to.

Vercal Springs
A series of hot springs that have a number of visitors flocking to them. It is a popular pastime to boil eggs in the springs and have with a nice drink. There are some Kitsu who have found that mining the rock around the springs has a high sulfur content which has made it a poplar spot for alchemists to tamper with. Either way it has become so popular it has a town that has built itself around the springs

Bridge of Faith
There is a large lake on a plateau that takes it's name from this structure has a natural land mass crossing it with some parts mere inches above the water. The surface of it has some light vegetation but mostly a very slick moss so it has become something of a challenge of agility to cross it without falling into the waters.

Places of interest

Gate Landing
A sweeping wide plateau that has a natural marble pathway that leads newcomers to Orlandith. It offered breathtaking views and an initial warning chill as stepping through offers no shield to any weather that might be happening though a fair hike down the path there is a rest point for the two ceremonial guards that stand guard at all hours.

Lovers walk
Winding around from the city of Orlandith it is often recommended to take a certain side trail if you are a young or old couple. The path is narrow enough that couples have to stay close together and a gentle mist clings to the air making it sparkle. There have been small alcoves carved out of the rock side to sit and each lunches with some privacy. The roar of the falls echo along the walls making the alcoves very private and only audible to those in them.

City of Orlandith
A city of golden splendor and home to a number of the largest guilds in the realm. Many come here in search of the keepers of books and weavers of tapestries to record their stories. The stones themselves tell stories of the old gods before the breaking of the realms and how the gods looked out and protected their kitsu children. Buildings are decorated with glass work mosaics that tell who resides in the guild halls and the history of their founding.

Rinleth
A city that has become known for it's wide and vast Colosseum and fields. Generations of imperials have come during festivals to show their craft and prove the strength of their guild. it is said the king himself will bestow a small reward from his own horde to those that can impress him the best but such a thing is very rare. Instead guilds use this time to recruit new members and look for fresh talent and ideas

Vercal
A town that prides itself on the decadence of relaxation. Known for the hot springs that share it's name it sits on a plateau that is only accessible via a large stone bridge that has been carved into the shape of an imperial lounge back and fanning themselves.

The Realm of Seraline
This Relam has a number of islands but most of the realm is underwater with a large amount of scattered cities and colorful reefs. The islands are tropical and warm often raining. This is the home of the Mer Kitsusagi.

The waters are vast and hold many of their own dangers. Tides come and go on the islands and undertows abound making for a number of smart and strong swimmers among the mer even those who walk on land.

The Mer Kitsusagi come in two primary forms those who live their lives in water with a more fish like back half and a land Mer variant that has four legs. Mer kitsusagi vary with some breathing mostly air and some breathing through gills. Thankfully they are highly innovative and skilled enough to make potions that allow for breathing in places they aren't adapted to.

Features of the Land
Kelp Forest
A large swath of kelps and algae that could hide a pod of whales. There are kinds of kelp that detach and float upward to the surface of the water seasonally making a mostly green carpet across the surface of the water. It was once said this was a bloom that welcomed the god of water to the islands. other kinds of plants do grow here and it is famous for the small glow in the dark plankton that light up when the stalks of the plants are moved by anything other then the ocean currents.

Torrent Tide
This fast moving tide actually passes near several underwater cities. Aquatic Mer kitsusagi use it to travel even faster underwater to get to their desired destination. on the surface of the ocean though this tide causes rapid current shifts and the part of the ocean over it is known for it's storms.

Spire Isle
This island is apart from the others it is quite small but home to a unique feature. It is highly unusual as it has a twisting spire like shape that is home to a large number of caves. The spire can be seen by all it's neighboring islands but can not be seen by those beyond it. it is said the god of Tempests has a shrine located at the top but the crosswinds make flying there very difficult and the climb is equally treacherous. Kitsusagi often have a challenge at the base of the spire to a challenge of fearlessness though it often ends at the second level and they head home feeling brave.

Turthlic Island
A lightly forested island rife with rich rocky shorelines and an abundance of tidal pools as well an small peninsulas jutting off of it in a number of directions. The local mer kitsusagi have woven nets off the peninsulas making fisheries for food, farming, and pearl growing. Sometimes this causes a few issues for more aquatic Mer Kitsusagi so a compromise there are a number of smaller bays that will remain fishery free.

Meritoc Island
A larger island that is home to a white pristine beach and a number of springs some warm and some cold. It has always been a very well loved spot for kitsu to visit and live on as it is considered a comfortable island due to it's size and minimal number of threats. There are several kinds of fairly intelligent birds that have learned how to beg form kitsu visiting the island and a popular to feed and then harvest fallen feathers for charms and decorations.

Shellrock Island
A dismal island that often has more harsh plants and creatures. The islands is the second biggest of the cluster and often has stormy and harsh weather. The sea life on one side the island is all dead for a large number of miles and the water there 'tastes' wrong to the Mer Kitsusagi making them less inclined to travel there. The ocean on the other side thankfully seems unaffected and is normal giving mer kitsu access to the island

Tide Island
Perhaps one of the strangest islands in the area. Half the year the island is shallowly submerged under the water making it seem as though the whole thing is a large tidal pool, and yet the part of the year the water level seems higher making the island disappear from sight as though it were never there. Few kitsu are brave enough to live there but those who do often live in boat like homes due to the nature of the island.

Sea of Forgotten lands
This is the name given to the 'dead water' zone on Shellrock island. No one knows how vast it is or what the waters hide. As the water tastes 'wrong' there few are willing to brave those waters.

Ring Reef
A spiraling series of reefs that have a number of wrecks scattered about them. It is strangely said the ships have been there since the breaking of the realms since the Mer Kitsusagi have few needs for such large vessels. The coral has long since grown over the ships trapping the secrets of the wrecks with them lost to time.

Glass Island
An active volcanic island that is known to have a number of gemstones as well as black glasslike protrusions. it has a thick amount of vegetation as the soil is rich and fertile making it popular to take for farming. there are occasional overflows of lava that set parts of the island on fire. Kitsusagi who travel there all respect the nature of this land and take caution.

Suken valley (underwater)
This whole valley has a number of abandoned homes and the place is considered cursed. Some brave kitsu explore the area but few stay for long. Efforts to set up an air dome to reclaim the area have all failed as the plants refuse to take root.

Places of Interest

Coral Cove (underwater)
The other side of the gate leads to a coral coated gate that has a large amount of Fish Bloom growing on either side of it. There is a landing area that has inlaid with shells and seaglass making a mosaic of a giant clam shell. There is a path of rounded stones and grown anomies at the edge of the giant shell that seem to be where the sea life resumes growing and a path that appears to lead to a city that is underwater. There is a large dome over it and this site but the pathway to the city needs to be swum to get to. There seem to be several large decorated shells dotted along the edge of the gate area that are full of water that has glowing algae in them giving a soft glow to the air dome no mater if there is light shining down from the surface or not.

Rian Gale Bay ( Shellrock Island)
It is said that there lies a bay that often rains on a clear day which is rare the bay opens up to a vast sea. No one knows what lies on the other side of it nor under it. As such it has been called the Sea of Forgotten lands. many explores have become lost trying to set out to see what lies beyond. It is an old story that the only way to set out from that bay is on a clear day where it doesn't rain which are few and very far between.

Clear Springs Beach (Meritoc Island)
A number of Kitsu come here to escape the heat of summer. there are a few fishing ktsu in the deeper water but few go beyond the natural coral reef area that is far out as it is rumored monsters dwell in those waters. It is very popular as a number of small decoration shops have appeared often trading charms for luck, wealth and beauty to those who wish to trade.

Glimmer Falls (Meritoc Island)
A beautiful falls that is popular to see as it often has rainbows arching over it. A number of songs have been sung about the flow of the water and the clear pure taste of the water. A number of water mages have come to the area to practice their spells as they say they find it easier to learn here than many other locations.

Eoluis (Turthlic Island)
A bustling town on the island that is known for it's farming and interestingly enough it's boat making. Often they make boats for those on Tide island. The crafters are known for their skill and respect for nature and the importance of resource management.

Stormvale (Tide Island)
This is perhaps the largest series of linked ships on Tide island. It is inhabited by a fair number of hardy rough kitsu that are proud of their independence and cautiousness of outsiders. They often say they are the true adventurers of all the Realm.

Charm Ties (Meritoc Island)
Near Clear Springs Beach there has grown its own small community for charms and relaxation. It is popular for those seeking fun or a more romantic get away. Still with all those kitsu coming to relax there has also grown a fair number of shady kitsu trying to steal silver any way they can think of.

Grotto Drift (underwater)
A large underwater dome city that is known for shells and beauty. The Kitsuagi who live here are highly focused on beauty and few would do well to critic them as most can launch into a tirade on how and why their view supersedes others around them.

ShimmerWave (underwater)
The largest of the underwater cities it has multiple air domes around it and those living in the bustling city are often graceful. Certain parts of the city remain underwater and even parts of the air domes have tubes of coral and seaglass for Mer folk who love to swim to get around easily. Many shops have a small pond on the outside that connects to the tubes and the water is held back by a strange trick of gravity allowing a kitsu to swim out for the travel tube to the pond to purchase things and then get back into the waterway so a kitsu who wanted to live in water and never set foot on 'dry land' even an air dome can do so. The city is considered to be the pinnacle of air domes and water pathways mixing.

Surana (underwater)
Close to the Ring Reef there is a city that seems to serve as a rescue for those who have been lost at sea as well as those seeking freedom from the restraints of other places. Many overlook this as a travel destination but a large number of bright minds often visit here to gain solace and perspective on matters. Adventurous kitsusagi stop here before heading out further into the ocean and those who need saving often seem to end up carried here by the tides. This place has it own underwater storms like any other but the tides are more often gentle and seem to feeling healing to the residents here.
