My dear Sophia,
I hope this letter finds you well. As you know, I have been on Nauwill Island for a few weeks now. Although I have yet to venture very far out of the town proper, I have encountered so many new and interesting pokemon! I do think you would like it here, if you ever felt so inclined, although I know you are busy with my new great grandson.
How does it feel to be a grandmother yourself now? Your mother was always said that the best part of being a mother was getting to be a grandmother. She always spoiled all of her grandbabies terribly! I’m sure you think you’ll be more restrained that than, but I don’t believe you will. Those big little eyes? Impossible to say no to! I remember the first time I held your eldest boy. He could always convince me to do anything!
He wasn’t the one of your sons I was thinking about when I started penning this letter though.
The other day I was combing along the beach when I came across another of those strange and wonderful pokemon I mentioned earlier. The scientists here tell me it’s called an omaloom – a hybrid of an omanyte and a gloom! Can you believe it? They have hybrids here. Your mother would have loved them.
Anyway, this little omaloom ended up coming home with me. They’re such an odd little creature, but very sweet. They spend all their time lounging about in the sun, happy as a clampearl to simply bask, unless there are some snacks about, in which case they are the first to try and lay claim to them. The little thing always seems to be hungry. They reminded me so much of your sweet youngest son Oscar, that I named them after him!
Perhaps when I have finished my adventure here, Oscar (the Omaloom) will make a good companion for Oscar (your son)? I suppose I can always ask the boy after I return. I’m afraid for the time being there are restrictions on sending any of the local pokemon to other regions.
I was, however, allowed to include some samples of the local flora. I’ve enclosed some seeds of the plants cleared by customs, as well as pressing of some of the more interesting plants that are not. I know Oscar (your son) share’s your dearly departed mother’s interest in botany, so I thought he might like them. One of the young people who reside on my floor of the residence building grows the same kind of plant I saw in Oscar’s (your son) room on my last visit, and he suggested that Oscar (your son) might particularly enjoy the plant that grows from the seeds in the envelope labeled “Nauwillian Weeds”.
Please pass along my love to all of your children and your lovely wife. I’ll be sure to make a trip out to your neck of Johto sometime soon so that I can meet the newest edition to the family.

Love, your father,
Ranveer Maan

PS. I’ve enclosed a few photographs so you can see how beautiful this island is. Perhaps you might consider coming to visit yourself some time?
