Paws Of The North

‘In the beginning there was six. Snow, Mountain, Valley, Pine, Dakota and Stella. These great travellers explored the world, before stumbling upon a spacious bit of land surrounding a lake. This lake held an island, on which a rock stood proudly at one end. After much negotiation, the travellers decided to claim the territory as their own. They lived in harmony, as cats from around their land heard about them and decided to join. They prospered for many seasons, as their one clan grew. Dakota’s greed only grew, as the she-cat wanted full control of the cats. Blinded by rage, she murdered Stella, Valley’s loyal mate, and was banished. However, Stella’s spirit visited the leaders and promised them she’d keep their bravest, most trustworthy and loyal warriors safe in her ranks. Her spirit climbed into the sky, her silky tail leaving a gleaming green trail. She was the creator of Silverpelt, and is said to be seen when the Aurora Borealis fills the night sky with her dancing greens, purples and blues.

As the leaders mourned for the loss of a friend and mate, Snow suggested we take her name and use it in theirs. They renamed themselves Valleystar, Snowstar, Mountainstar and Pinestar. After much discussion, the leaders decided to split up and lead their own clans, and the cats that were loyal to each leader followed. This was the beginning of the clans. Dakota had brought together some cats, and this was the start of the Rogues.

They lived peacefully, till each leader passed. In memory, the clans were named after their founders, and Dakota returned. She picked off a few cats, till she was slain by Valleystar’s loyal deputy when he was alive. Dakota formed the Darkforest, a place for the evil and strong warriors who weren’t good in the eyes of Stella.’

There are four clans that inhabit the north of Canada. Valley Clan, Pine Clan, Snow Clan and Mountain Clan. These fearless clans brave out the harsh winters the north provides, always hunting. But, the winters are gradually warming up, and the prey are dying as they cannot adapt. what will be of the clans?
