Undergoing the Emergence and becoming a Monarch is tough but it does have some perks!
- Elevated Status
- Monarchs are seen as authority figures in raptor society. As such typically only another monarch can challenge the authority or right of a monarch.
- This doesn't mean they are universally liked but out a respect or fear others will follow a monarch's wishes.
- Massive energy reserves.
- The change a raptor goes through to become a monarch grants them deep reserves of magic.
- This allows them not only high endurance but spells becomes significantly easier and more powerful.
- Magic Master
- While there are a few types of tricky magics and rituals that can quickly tire a monarch, most magics and simple spells are childs play and they don't even need foci.
- Enchanting and Transmutation are now within easy reach. Most magic is temporary in nature due to the magic required, but as a monarch they are able to apply a wider array of permanent effect.
- Unaided flight
- All monarchs are capable of flight or floating without casting spells due to their high magic levels.
- Larger Size
- Monarchs tend to grow at least 2 ft taller after emergence sometimes even bigger.
- While this is sometimes cumbersome it is overall a good thing. Being bigger makes you a less likely target of wild and dangerous predator or even raptor rivals.
- Easily marks one as a monarch on sight.
- Aura
- All monarchs have a magical aura that surrounds them.
- Auras generally have a faint hypnotic like effect on other non monarch raptors.
- The 'feel' of the aura varies greatly based on the individual but generally instills a mild sense of awe, respect, and/or wonder.
- Fertility
- Not only are monarch's naturally more attractive to others, their high magic levels easily allow them to contribute more to reproduction rituals.
- Grants all their clutches with chance for more eggs and/or other extras.
