Sometimes a pony/pet/item doesn't click with you, and that's alright! Someone else might have that perfect pony/pet/item to offer for yours. In those cases we call it a 'swap'. We have, on the Discord, a channel for discussing swaps in public, and you may take discussions to DMs/PMs as well, but this thread is used to let staff know you officially are sending the pony/pet/item off. You must post here before certing your new pony!
Please read the rules below, as they are very important.
You will need to post here and get confirmation before certing.
We just want to make sure everyone is on the same page! One owner will post the form below and the other will quote it approving! Once this is done we know you're good to cert.
When a pony is swapped it is not forced to be who they once were.
New owners may change name and alignment as they wish. Drop dates will remain the same. Generation 1 ponies can have their entire story changed, as their past story can be retconned. An owner may keep the pony as the same, if they wish, but they aren't obligated to. Once the pony is rehomed it is now officially up to the owner what to do with them.
Generation 2+ ponies will still be related to their parents and siblings. Their certs will not remove their generation info. But their personality, name, alignment, and story may change.
For ponies who are swapped and they had kids previously they can either remain the same character or choose to be someone entirely new. Breedings kid will keep their parents names, as their parent that was swapped becomes an NPC basically (as if it was a rogue breeding). They still were born by Bob, but Bob is no longer the pony the new owner has.
You cannot force back a swap.
You cannot demand a swap to be undone. The character is not yours anymore. You have no rights that character anymore.
You cannot sell a pony/pet/item.
Swaps are for swapping a shop official pet/pony/item for another one. There is no currency of any form involved.
Swap only one for one.
To keep things simple and manageable you are limited to swapping one pet/item/pony for another one. You should not offer two ponies for one, for example.
Do not swap for something you are yet to have.
You must actually own the offer. You cannot swap for future customs not dropped, promises for baskets not yet here, or similar.
You must have the official url from our server.
Do not post forms without the official images.
It is up to you to provide any information needed to the new owner.
It is not staff responsibility to fill in information about family, backstories, or more you might want the owner to know about their new pony. Remember, again, new owners are not forced to keep the same personality or backstory.
