Vulpertin are clever opportunists, thriving in the frosty forests of Winter’s Breath. Their thick coats afford them protection from the colder seasons, but make warmer weather uncomfortable for these small critters.

They are a curious and quick sort, often darting around and between the hooves of those exploring their native region. Their agility makes them difficult to catch, but they're incredibly food-motivated, causing them to be easy to befriend with the right treats. It's best to keep an eye on any food you're carrying, as they'll effortlessly steal from pockets and pouches if allowed!

Able to fly, hear from great distances, and equipped with incredible agility, vulpertin are nightmares if they smell a treat you're hiding in a pocket!

Botunny :: boh-TUN-ee

While they're found primarily in their native region--Spring's Rain--, botunnies gravitate towards well-kept gardens in search of work. Like snebble, they enjoy aiding plant growth and care and have busy paws. They're happiest when given a job, especially if it revolves around produce or fruit care! Train a botunny to pick and tend to fruits and vegetables, and you'll find yourself in a healthy garden in no time! Botunnies demand a certain level of respect, however, and will tear up the very garden they love if neglected.

Kastle :: KAS-ul

Dotting coastlines everywhere, kastles sift through the beach sands when activity is low. Prone to flattening themselves within the surrounding sand, kastles are easy to stumble upon and startle.

Not much is known about how they're created-- they sort of just arrived.

When frightened, these strange sand castles erupt into horrible screams that can immediately birth a migraine or nausea.

They do not need to eat, nor can they. They can breathe underwater however, and seem to grow if left alone long enough by watery sands.

Mooshi :: MOO-shee

Mooshrooms are primarily found in Fall's Harvest, as it has the largest concentration of their favorite food: decaying leaves. These creatures are solitary and seclusive, preferring darker areas such as forests and caves to be their homes. Even then, they're curious about what they do not know and find ponies especially fascinating, trailing after them in the corner of their vision as they assess the visitor. Sometimes, if a pony notices them and responds favorably, they'll even allow the pony to take them home!

Mooshrooms have a strong backbone and will evacuate the premises if neglected. They are equipped with the ability to find their way back to their original home, no matter the distance or time. It's safe to say you'll never see your mooshi again if you don't treat them right.

Mooshrooms can see perfectly in the dark. They even prefer staying within dimly lit to completely dark areas.

Luvbug :: LUV-bug

Luvbugs are nothing but affection incarnate. They flock to areas with high levels of good vibes, feelings of affection, and deep love. Sometimes, if the emotional connection is strong enough, they can even crash weddings, birthdays, and anniversary parties, where adoration and passion blossom. On the opposite spectrum, they steer clear of negative emotions, as they cause literal pain to these sweet little worms.

Luvbugs can sense the emotions of others, even complex ones! They'll shy away from the more negative ones, but don't worry, they'll return!

Fren :: FREN

Fren are highly adaptive and can conform to any environment. They're more often found in Summer's Touch and enjoy warmer temperatures naturally thanks to their perfectly tempered fur. Despite the sheer volume and amount of fur covering their body, fren do not need to shed, making them perfect friends for those who want a fluffy pal with little cleanup.

Their size is almost entirely due to their fur! Although they're still deceptively and oddly heavy, they will notably shrink in size when wet.

One might think them incapable of flight due to the size of their wings relative to their weight, but fren boast the same magic of most winged creatures in Everchange that lets them fly regardless. They still need to flap their wings at high speeds to activate said magic, making their flight an amusing sight to behold.

Nite Lite :: NITE-LITE

Nite Lites want to be your friend. No, like, they really want to be your friend. There's nothing malicious about these little balls of astral fluff, even if they came from fallen stars and meteorites that are obviously not native to Everchange. Named appropriately, nite lites stars glow at will (which is, honestly, very often). In addition to the soft jingling sound they make when they walk, they're utterly obsessed with making friends, making them excellent companions for children.

Nite Lites work best alongside Star Brites, as they both originate from the same fallen stars and meteorites and, together, boost their magic.

▷ Abilities ◁ Gravity Altering Fallen Star Sensing​

Nite Lites can temporarily alter the gravity of objects and creatures relative to their size. This ability allows them to make things feel lighter or heavier. Additionally, nite lites can float and walk on clouds, as they can freely adjust their own gravitational pull without limitation.

Nite Lites come from meteors, also known as shooting stars or fallen stars, and have some sort of mystical ability to tell when more fallen stars are coming! When this happens, they gather around trees full of wishing charms and increase the chance of the fallen stars hitting the charms, therefore turning them into star brites!

Shuppy :: SHUP-ee

An aquatic pony's best friend, the shuppy is truly just an amphibious boof. They're full of love and joy, lacking a thought behind their big, expressive eyes. In saying that, they respond wonderfully to dedicated training, as they want to please their owner. These sea puppies domesticated themselves over the ages, making them hard to find in the wild these days.

While typically owned by aquatic and amphibious ponies, terrestrial and aerial ponies can also enjoy these sweet companions if they have enough water to hydrate their shuppy! While they can breathe both underwater and above, shuppies need to keep their skin hydrated, or else they'll dry out and die!

Shuppies can lock their jaw in place. Anyone unfortunate enough to activate this ability will just have to wait until the shuppy decides to let go.

Snebble :: SNEB-ul

Naturally and abundantly found in Spring's Rain, snebbles have become a staple in a well-rounded garden thanks to their natural diet of bacteria and fungi. Small groups of snebbles— called patrols —like to inhabit and protect gardens in a cluster, traversing through repeated, planned pathways through the entire garden day and night.

Snebbles possess an alluring scent that smells different for every pony who is fortunate enough to smell it, resembling their favorite scent. This scent can be harvested from their flower and has resulted in some interesting perfumes and colognes along the way. Despite being called sweet scent, this smell can be of anything!

Gimmik :: GIM-ik

Engineered to move and traverse within the dark, gimmiks enjoy playing with ponies and causing trouble right in the corner of their eyes. Their tail shares the same digestive track as the main body— much like ghoulies —, but cannot partake in the same mimicry as their host. Stuck to growls, grunts, trills, and other cat-like sounds, gimmik tails are much more for protection than anything else, delivering a powerful bite that can crush almost all metal and stone.

▷ Abilities ◁ Mimicry Shadow Traveling Dark Sight​

Gimmiks themselves can imitate and mimic other noises and redirect the direction of their voice. If given enough practice, they can learn general and repeated words to parrot back at their owners.

Like ghoulies, they can also travel within shadows, dissolving into them with ease. They can see perfectly in the dark to further aid them.

Pluffasaur :: PLUFF-uh-sawr

The pluffasaur were plentiful within Winter's Breath eons ago. That is, until the strange, unpredictable magic of Everchange stopped reproducing these gentle, fluffy creatures. Their numbers dwindled, and the remaining wild pluffasaur were rounded up and split amongst several centers for rehabilitation and repopulation. Despite efforts to maintain and keep the pluffasaur comfortable, safe, and alive, breedings were few and far between.

It seemed Everchange was doomed to say goodbye to the pluffsaur. And then... as peculiar as ever, the magic ruling Everchange had a change of heart. After decades of trying, the pluffasaur were multiplying again! By a rapid amount— too much to just release back into the wild. Plus, due to their captivity for so long, the pluffasaur... simply cannot live on their own.

No, seriously. They were in pony care for so long, they're basically domesticated fluff balls with zero instinct. They prefer colder climates due to their fur, but have become incredibly docile. Pluffasaur are exceedingly vocal, finding it's the best way to communicate with ponies and extort them for treats. Trills, squawks, chirps, whistles-- anything that gets a head to turn and, hopefully, a heart to melt. They tend to remind ponies of birds, especially when they try to fling themselves off of high things to seemingly try to fly. Or, so we assume.

There's rumors that pluffasaurs had abilities long ago, but the current version of these loveable balls of fluff are powerless.

Star Brite :: STAR-brite

Star Brites are created when fallen stars hit a wishing paper that has been hung. On their own, they can be rare, but they can be seen often in areas with high numbers of nite lites.

Star Brites and nite lites naturally bond to each other, and once a bonded pair, will only form a connection with a singular pony. Coming from the similar places as each other, they inherently boosts each others magical abilities. Together, they will do whatever they can to make their favorite pony happy!

It is far more common for a star brite to form from a wishing charm than by their magic mixing with another creature.

Star Brites, much like nite lites, glow at will! When a star brite moves, a soft jingle can be heard! They get around by floating, but many enjoy hanging at their origin point, especially if one of their nite lite friends are nearby.

Additionally, star brites can create illusions that show their favorite ponies innermost wishes and dreams.

Strix :: str-ICKS

Have you ever heard about the Death Callers? What about the Heralds? Or perhaps the Dark Wings? These are just a handful of names for a group of strix, which are scientifically referred to as a death when in a group.

It is because they can, somehow, sense incoming death, much like the dullahan. Typically it is within a few days, and they can even gather in great numbers if it's a big enough debacle. When there were wars, strixen would circle in swathes, hundreds at a time, above battlefields. Now, with wars being basically nonexistent, strixen are not seen in such numbers any more. Instead, they can actually be found bonded with very special ponies. Strixen only bond to one pony, and only after being "wooed" by said pony with the perfect offering. What that offering is depends on the strix itself.

They only have one pupil, and it seems to pass through their skull with ease, from one eye to another. When they feel threatened, they will straighten out their tail feathers, and whip the tail savagely side to side. It can be used much like a whip, the feathers magically sharpening like a blade. It can also be used for hunting.

They can sense incoming death up to a few days before someone or something loses its life, although they cannot foretell just how it will occur.
