Welcome to Ponporri, where adventure awaits!

For the uninitiated, Ponporri is a breedable/adoptable shop focused around small, fluffy, sentient foxes.
While RP and play is encouraged, collectors are more than welcomed.

Follow the Basilisk Stew ToS at all times, in addition to the rules below.
Threads, events, and features might have their own rules, which should be read and followed in addition to the rules below.

  • Shop characters, trinkets, and additional creations cannot be sold for any form of currency or goods. Players may swap and rehome porri, trinkets, and dreambeans between one another, but all swaps and rehomes must be logged publicly in the Swaps and Gifting thread and done with Ponporri creations. Any under-the-table payments will result in immediate blacklisting.
  • Players cannot attempt to bribe staff for artwork privately. All orders must be placed in public, official threads.
  • Send payment upon confirmation of a win. Artists will not begin work until paid. The shop operates on a pay-what-you-want system, focusing on Basilisk Stew credits.
  • Players must be members of the Discord or Basilisk Stew group to participate in all shop features.
  • Bans do not result in removal of any owned content. Banned players will retain full rights to their characters, however they will no longer be allowed to participate in the shop in any capacity. Artists may refund work not yet completed if they wish.
  • Co-owning is not allowed.
  • Porri must be certed prior to using them within any shop activity, including but not limited to: breedings, roleplay, RP events, etc etc. Any exceptions will be noted within that events thread.
  • Players have blanket permission to get conversions of their characters elsewhere. Usage of another players characters without their consent will result in a moderator action.
  • Twitter/X links are not allowed.
  • Pinterest is not allowed for inspiration, unless using a color-only palette. Unfortunately, Pinterest has too many AI images freely about.
  • AI is not welcomed in any capacity.

The list will be culled periodically to keep from getting too large.

Q. Are the lines gendered?
A. No. We're a very queer positive (and ran) space; the lines have no specific sex nor gender, and any pronoun choices are left for the player.​

Q. Is there any hard rules about the world and how to play?
A. No, and yes. The shop is intended to allow for a more sandbox playstyle, providing an origin planet (Ponporri) and Shards to encourage creative freedom. There are a few guides found in the Lore Guide section of the group, which hold absolute truths for Ponporri and most Shards, including information about shapeshifting, starprints, birth, etc, but as long as there's nothing absolutely shattering the general rules then be free! Shards were creates specifically for any setting to be possible for all players. ​

Q. Do porri get pregnant?
A. There's a reproductive guide, but no. I guess, if you really feel like it's a must-have, a player could create a Shard that allows for it, but... for the most part the concept of pregnancy is very foreign for the average pon. ​

Q. How many times can a character breed?
A. As many times as you want!​

Q. Does the shop follow a naming restriction or theme?
A. Nope! There is also no rules about duplicate naming — there can be 5 Susan's.​

Q. Do they have mouths?
A. Yes. The base art style lacks a mouth on the art, but they generally do have them. Being shapeshifters, they could also just phase a mouth in whenever they want, too, I guess. Some artists may opt to draw mouths, or flip between doing so and not.​

Q. Are cosplays allowed?
A. Yes. Cosplays are also not limited to only one existing within the shop. There can be multiple Inuyasha's.​

Q. Can my pon interact with sibling shop worlds?
A. There's a post below detailing more information, but yes! Sibling shops both note shops we're especially close with (and prone to hosting games/events with whenever we see fit), but also notes how involved the worlds are with one another. Characters from sibling shops have access to one another's galaxy, and often visit. Half-sibling shops are places that do not know of one another nor can visit, but games/events will be hosted between them sometimes!​

Ponporri, the birthplace of the porri, is an ever-shifting, dream-infused planet pulsing with the raw energy of the dreams that had created and now feed it, making it a realm where logic and reality warp and bend at a whim. The skies glimmer in different colors, neighboring regions have starkly varying climates from those they border, and weather may betray the season in reign — Ponporri gleefully defies expectation and exists beyond the limits of reason.

Ponporri remains accessible to any pon who wishes to return to the home planet. With a single, intentional wish, a door of infinite forms will appear, leading them back to the dream-woven planet of their people. The same act can bring porri back to their Shard, allowing for safe travel between a Shard they've been within and Ponporri. In some cases, something may deter a porri from forming a door either way, but what that may be is up to the player.

Shards:
Though Ponporri served as the cradle of the porri for countless eons, there came a point when it could not contain the vast, unpredictable power of the dreams it siphoned from both the Elysium Galaxy and its inhabitants. The dream energy splintered, fracturing from Ponporri and scattering new realms across the galaxy named Shards. These Shards now offer new homes to the porri, each presenting a new reality to those who settle within. Entering a Shard changes a porri to fit within its reality while they're within it, warping them to fit within their own rules of what it means to be alive in that particular Shard.

Pon [plural: Porri]
A typical everyday pon resembles a fluffy fox, usually with a long, soft tail and large ears. These inhabitants are considered the common citizens of the galaxy, with intelligence comparable to that of Earth's humans. However, not all porri look alike — some may have different tails, extra limbs, or unexplainable oddities. Since porri are born from dream energy, their appearances can vary greatly from the considered "norm", if there even is one. No matter how a pon looks, or how many other porri share their traits, every one of them is simply a pon.

Born from smaller pools of dream energy, dreambeans are naturally drawn to the magic that flows within porri. Many choose to share their lives with a pon, forming deep, familial bonds — those especially close can even walk through their companions dreams!

On rare occasions, a dream from a sleeping pon can be so powerful that it'll manifest into a dreambean! The bond between a pon and a dreambean created this way is often even stronger, with some pairs able to communicate telepathically.

It is up to the player how intelligent a dreambean is, or if they can communicate with other dreambeans and porri.

We can't possibly list out all ways one can get a character here, but there's a few set-in-stone methods one can keep an eye out for!
Please explore the group, as there's a few features one might spot if they look close enough and not listed here in hopes players will read the nifty guides we've written.

  • Customs: Design a pon or dreambean! Players can opt to give inspiration for a new character, or leave it entirely up to the artist.
  • Breedings: Mixing up to four porri (or dreambeans) is a great way to get a new character!
  • Games: There will be various games hosted both within the main-thread, and the group from time to time, as well as events.
  • Newbie Starshower: Every new customer may request 1 newbie pon, regardless if they've won a character in a recent game.
  • RLC: Some artists are allowed to take RLC within their artist thread or on the official Discord. Currently, RLC is closed.

Shops that Ponporri considers closely tied to are referred to as sibling shops! It's common for the citizens of sibling shops to know of one another, travel to each others worlds, befriend one another, and even have entire events hosted together! Half-sibling shops will not be aware of one another, nor can their citizens visit each other, but events together aren't unheard of.

Any changes made to the list (half-siblings moving up to sibling, added projects, etc) will be announced publicly.

Additionally, we also just love these shops and think you should check them out!

Those on the blacklist cannot participate in any Ponporri features, including but not limited to: the group, the Discord, crossover events, etc. Players cannot request information about bans.

It is likely that a blacklisting within a sibling shop will result in a blacklisting in Ponporri.

Greylistings will be kept logged privately. Those on a greylist are unable to participate in customs, breedings, games, and events until their greylisting period is over. Repeated poor behavior will result in a blacklisting.
