Rattata gets 1 success from its 1 Ins. Good for it. However, it's still asleep, so it's Sebby's turn. I remove the turn indicator from my copy/paste notes because I keep forgetting to update it. Good for me.

The battle continues! I choose to use Wrap, which has an accuracy rating of -1. This means 1 success will be removed from my To-Hit roll - or, if you prefer, it means I need 2 successes instead of 1! Sebby has a Dex of 2 and a Brawl of 2, so our To-Hit roll is 4.

Initiative order: Rattata, Sebby
Rattata: 4/4 HP, 3/3 Will || 1 DEF, 1 SDEF (Sleep: 1)
Sebby: 5/5 HP, 4/4 Will || 2 DEF, 2 SDEF

Rattata remains asleep. Sebby prepares to use Wrap.

Wow! 4 successes! However, this doesn't count as a Critical Hit since the accuracy penalty removes 1, leaving us with 3 successes. That's still more than enough to hit, so we start to calculate damage.

Sebby's not a normal type, so they don't get a STAB bonus. They only get to roll the base damage - 1+Str. That's still not bad with Sebby's 3 Str, though!

Initiative order: Rattata, Sebby
Rattata: 4/4 HP, 3/3 Will || 1 DEF, 1 SDEF (Sleep: 1)
Sebby: 5/5 HP, 4/4 Will || 2 DEF, 2 SDEF

Sebby Wraps the opponent mercilessly.

Sebby gets 3 successes this time, meaning that after rattata's 1 DEF, they'll be doing 2 damage. However, after doing the damage, we notice that Wrap has a special effect. "Deals 2 dice of damage to the foe at the end of each round for 4 rounds. The foe cannot swap out or flee." That means Sebby gets a chance at doing extra damage every round, and unlike the main attack, this bypasses DEF/SDEF. Nice!

Since it's the end of the round, I go ahead and roll Wrap's extra damage.

Initiative order: Rattata, Sebby
Rattata: 2/4 HP, 3/3 Will || 1 DEF, 1 SDEF (Sleep: 1)
Sebby: 5/5 HP, 4/4 Will || 2 DEF, 2 SDEF (Wrap: 1)

Wrap's damage continues...

Wrap successfully did 1 point of damage, meaning the round is now over unless I want to take a Trainer Action. I decide I want to catch the rattata - I want those sweet faction credits, after all! I declare my ball usage, then check for bonuses again.

My base Catch Score is still 5 with the Research Ball. Rattata has less than half HP, so I get +1. Rattata also has exactly 1 HP, so I get another +1! It also has a status effect, which gives +1, and that status effect is Sleep, so it gets an additional +1. That means I get to roll 9d6 (!) to try and catch this pokemon, and I only need 3 successes to do so, since it's a Starter rank. Let's go, dice!

Initiative order: Rattata, Sebby
Rattata: 1/4 HP, 3/3 Will || 1 DEF, 1 SDEF (Sleep: 1)
Sebby: 5/5 HP, 4/4 Will || 2 DEF, 2 SDEF (Wrap: 1)

At the end of the round, Alain throws a Research Ball!

Six successes mean that this pokemon is in the bag, literally. I deduct the ball, make note of the catch, and continue my adventure.

Success! Alain puts the new catch away. Rolling for event. -1E

This time I rolled a roll event. Alain absolutely knows how to swim, but this event is silly on purpose so we play along. One of my pokemon is a fire type, so I can't use Sebby, leaving only Feebas to attempt the roll. I check their stats and see they have 2 Vit and 1 Athletic, so I roll 3 dice. The difficulty on the roll is listed as "1", so I only need one success!

13: A few feet of water stands between you and an odd stone?, but unfortunately you never learned how to swim. Roll for one of your pokémon to see if it can fetch it. Fire pokémon cannot attempt. Water pokémon get +1 to their roll pool. On failure, -2 HP for the pokémon. On success, gain odd stone?.

Vit+Athletics
Knowing there's no way Sebby can make it across, Alain sends Feebas to try and fetch the odd stone?.

Feebas makes it across with two successes! Whether I succeed or fail, since this was a stat roll event, I have to write at least three sentences about what happened. Since I did succeed, I also get to add an odd stone? to my Finds.

An item denoted with a ? means it's an unidentified item. They're no good to you, but you can turn them in to a faction for some nice points!

Though it seems a little hesitant at first, Feebas wades into the water to fetch the stone for their master. As it happens, the water's not even that deep! It barely comes over Feebas's head, and they sort of bounce and hop their way across to retrieve the item, taking cute little gulps of air with every hop. They seem quite proud of themselves on their return, and Alain makes a point to give them an affectionate pat on the head.

We roll another battle. Since this is a tutorial, however, we're going to skip that battle and finish up this adventure. ;3

We roll another stat check. This time, we let Sebby have a shot, since they're better at this sort of thing.

10: You can see a bumpy rock? just on the other side of a skinny little sapling. If only there were some way to get past it! Roll for one of your pokémon to see if they can do anything. On success, gain bumpy rock?.

Sebby ponders the sapling for a while. It's intimidating, really, as it's honestly quite a bit bigger than they are, though it's ... not terribly large compared to Alain. Still, they do their best, eventually wrapping their body around the woody growth and biting, wrestling, and generally writhing on it until the poor young tree falls defeated to the ground. Honestly, their trainer finds himself rather impressed at the bug's tenacity, and makes a note to give them extra treats when they get home.

Alain now has 0 energy, so that means he has to go home. We post the final wrap up now. First we write down each item and pokemon we acquired, then we indicate which of these we're keeping or handing over for points. After that, if this was a real thread, I'd mark it as [Complete] and then drop a link into the Discord #help-me channel to get a mod to catalogue my findings. You won't get to keep anything or get any credit unless you do this, so don't forget!

Note that unidentified items and Research Ball pokemon MUST be turned over to a faction - you can't keep them yourself, as they wouldn't do you any good.

Also note that if you use a normal ball to catch a pokemon for yourself, it may not be an immediate delivery. Pokemon are hand colored by the artists, so you'll have to wait a little while for us to get you one! Keep in mind that unlike sales or games, any pokemon caught in an adventure will have the trainer being used set as the Original Trainer immediately, so you'll have to officially Trade mons if you want them to go to another trainer.
