How it works!
Step 1: Determine the genotypes of each parent.
This helps mostly for multi-generational pets.
Both fur and eyes are given their own Genetype.
If the fur is dark it's most likely dominant so it gets BB or Bb.
Of course, there's a color hierarchy for all of this, but for purposes of keeping it easier, just assume that the dominant trait is the darker feature of the two animals, and the recessive is the lighter feature of the two.
Step 2: Determine the size of the litter.
Step 3: Determine the Breed of the pups.
We do it Disney Style, either one Breed or the other.
Step 4: Determine the base color of the pups.
Roll 1 4-sided die for each pup.
Each number rolled corresponds to one of the basic squares.
| B | b |
| B | BB 1 | Bb 2 |
| b | Bb 3 | bb 4 |
Step 5: Determine the eye color of the pups.
Roll 1 4-sided die for each pup.
Works just the same as fur color, but with different genotypes.
Step 6: Determine the pattern of the pups.
Generate 1 number 1-2 for each pup.
Patterns are a little different from fur color in how they're inherited. For simplicity's sake, "patterns" refers to any markings on the animal different from their base color. Getting a 1 means no pattern, and 2 means the pattern is inherited.
