[CLOSED] What the Future Holds (Personality Contest!)

Four out of five kittens from Barb and Hunter's litter have found homes. Now it's time for the first born of the litter to find their way home with one of you fine feline folks! In order to win this kitten, I'll be asking you all to bestow this kit with a name, a personality and two ideas for plots as they grow up.

To help you develop some ideas, here's some background about the family!

Barb (left) is a loner who has a deep distrust in Twolegs. A former kittypet prized for her rare coloration, she was a social media star, before she had enough of getting dressed up and taken to photo shoots and conventions. Running away, she learned the brutality of living as a loner, especially when she was used to a plush life without the need to feed herself. Eventually, on the evening of a terrible storm, she took a risk and sought shelter in a barn, far away from the home she'd left. It was there that she met Hunter (right), who allowed Barb to stay in his barn. A mouser for the Twolegs, there was plenty of food to be had and warm hay to lounge in. Fortunately for Barb, Hunter rarely interacted with his Twolegs and even after the storm had passed, by his good graces, she was allowed to stay in his barn. It didn't take too long for the two colorful cats to grow attached to one another and Barb made the choice to stay at the barn, with Hunter, permanently.

Raised by two loving parents, with four other siblings, in the safety of a barn, this kit's future is full of possibilities. So, what do you have in store for them?

Username: NatiStorm
Kitten Name: Thorn
Personality: Thorn get's his name by being such a pain to deal with. Though he is loving an loyal to his family, his constant energy and endless curiosity make him a lot to handle. A very talkative kitten, Thorn is almost always mewing for something, be it attention, food, or to be let out of the barn to go exploring.
Plot Ideas:
(1) Thorn has a way of making bad ideas sound like fun to his siblings and often convinces one or two of them to get into trouble with him. This includes things like sneaking out of the barn, distracting and stealing fresh kill from Barb & Hunter, and trying to trip the twolegs when they come by.


(2) He doesn't just get his siblings in trouble though; sometimes he challenges them to a hunting spree just so he can get his siblings to bring him an easy meal. It's not that he's lazy, no he's bursting with energy, but why hunt such easy prey when he could just get it brought to his feet? One day he'll get out of the barn and hunt down something that will amaze his family.

Kitten Name: Mouse

Personality: Mouse is the smallest and the quietest of all the kits. Hence how they got their name! However, they make up for their quiet by seemingly being a mastermind at everything they do. A master at getting their parents to give them whatever they want, a natural at hunting mice, probably the best sleeper of the whole group. Everything they do, they seem to be the best at it. Even though they aren't really _trying_ to be the best. They just listen really well! And it helps that they don't have a penchant for talking much, it makes it easier to listen.

Plot Ideas:
- Mouse is often thought to be lost as they have a knack for getting into small places and napping there. High up in the barn, stuck in the barn walls, wherever they think is nice and snug for a nap. There is no doubt they used to scare their parents and siblings a lot. Perhaps they still do even as a juvenile and then adult, especially once they can start taking their own steps outside of the barn.

- Perhaps even one of the times they are thought to be lost... They actually are. They are taken by the friend of a twoleg kit when they visit the farm. Does Mouse fall in love with their new home? Or do they work to get back home?

Kitten Name: Leaf
Personality: Leaf is adventurous and always wanting to find more to explore. Leaf is a go with the flow cat, and doesn't question authority. She would love to venture off the farmland but knows there's so many adventures at home already.
Plot Ideas:
• Exploration! There's an abandoned farmhouse on the farm and Leaf starts to visit it more often. She eventually starts to settle here but still visits her family. She just needs some time away.
• Dog! There's a dog nearby and Leaf is curious. Will they become friends? Will they become enemies?
• It's a big world. Leaf meets a cat who is not from the Barb x Hunter family! Will Leaf be tempted to leave, or will they decide to stay in the farm?

Username: pyrrh
Kitten Name: Storm
Personality: She's a mercurial kit, with moods that shift just as often as the weather. From moment to moment she lets herself drift to whatever she needs, doing her best to weather her own internal sort of storm. She loves roaming around and finidng new things but ultimately wants to have a place she calls home to return to when she's weary of adventuring, so she is likely to either stay at the barn with her parents indefinitely, or join a clan.
Plot Ideas:
- As a kitten, Storm encounters a clan cat and learns all about the ways of life different from those of a loner. Depending on the outcome of this encounter, she may go try to join the clan in question
- if she tries to join a clan, explore how clan life feels for her and whether she truly feels at home, or if home is where the heart is and she needs to return to the barn and to her family
- Sibling Hierarchy: wrestling and competing with all her siblings to figure out who is the strongest, the fastest, the smartest; how many of them think they are the most capable, and which of them turns out to be right? [we could RP things out with dice rolls somehow?? e.g. 1d20 results against each sibling or something!]
- Storm challenges her siblings to climb up into the loft of the barn and walk across the beams in the ceiling to see who can cross them fastest without falling!
