It felt like her head was full of fog and she was tired as all get out. Honestly Wren was headed out to partly get out and clear her head and part to give her partners a chance to play and partly to put of the summer clean out she that had been on her task list for the past two weeks. She had been doing a decent job so far getting small things done here and there but sometimes it was nice to put things off and just do something a little more fun. Tea Leaf and Tanaka had also caused enough mayhem that Wren felt obligated to humor them and take them for a walk. The moment she was outside the gates in the gentle grasslands she took a few deep breaths and gave herself the grace to smile just a bit. It was already a nice change of pace as long as the temperature didn’t get too hot today and honestly even if it did she would call off the trip early and head down the beach for some pizza and a chance to cool off. With the simple plan in her mind she let her trouble makers out and about to cause some mayhem that she didn’t have to pick up after with a broom and dustpan. They followed close venturing out and circling back toward her as she started her walk.

First Tanka yawned and then started to chase Tea Leaf threatening to nip at their tail. Back and forth they went for a while. Foxfire ended up being carried by Wren for a short period of time as its small little legs made it hard to keep up and Herb seemed to have a nice time bouncing lightly up and down along Wren’s slow pace. Her fingers softly patted Foxfire and was soothed by its round soft feeling. Tea Leaf decided to headbutt Tanaka which lead to a short scuffle making her chuckle. They were just playing right now but she kept an eye on them in case Tea Leaf decided to start bullying Tanaka. While the totodile was tougher then the eevee, Tea leaf was smarter and had tricked Tanaka into biting his own tail on more then one occasion. She had to laugh realizing the two were the embodiment of might does not always make right. Tanaka was tough and gave as good as he got though. His teeth were sharp and caused Wren problems more then once. She had a shredded small army of poke dolls as prof to that, and chewed on furniture. She didn’t know how to solve that problem but was making due well enough. She had tried some repairs but Tanaka just took them apart again before she knew it. She had ben told the repairs weren’t well done but really what more could she do other then submit a fix it ticket and wait a few months for things to get fixed if she didn’t go after it herself. Just remembering it all made her rub her temple with one hand and reminded her why she wanted this trip out today.

During the scuffle as Tanaka was chasing Tea Leaf they started a small wild N. Weedle. She gasped and fumbled for a quick ball as she was trying to still hold Foxfire. She gave a quick throw and watched as the ball bounced off Tanaka who decided he wanted to chase the new Pokémon. Sighing she went to look for the ball to pick it up. The last thing she wanted was to loose a ball out here. Tanaka quickly lost the N Weedle and came back to her making her sigh. “You are not too helpful today buddy. I don’t know why you look so smug.” Of course the smugness only lasted until Tea Leaf nibbled at him making him start to chase Tea Leaf again. Sighing Wren scooped up the ball and looked at Foxfire’s thinking it may well be her spirit Pokémon at this rate. Still her walk went on after all a lost catch wasn’t really to big a deal. She was trying hard to focus on the good things. One thought at a time. Not the chew marks, not the mayhem races. No it was sunny and nice today. Her Pokémon were healthy and happy even if they were full of mayhem. One step at a time she took a few breaths kept petting Foxfire. Yep. Good day. Focus there. She relaxed fairly quickly as her adrenaline went back down and she smiled watching the mayhem that Tanaka and Tea Leaf caused. It was amazing how that very behavior seemed cute at times and down right pester some at others.

Wren was busy trying to keep an eye on Tanaka and Tea Leaf when her feet fell out from under her. Foxfire fell from her hands as she fell. She landed with a hard thump and blinked as some pain appeared in her knee. She had hit a rock hard. Hissing she cradled herself but looked around for Foxfire and the others. Herb was fine just bouncing along not seeming affected at all and Tanaka and Tea Leaf where still playing. Foxfire rolled around before rolling to its feet and making a very disgruntled noise. “Sorry about that Foxfire.” She pulled a band aid and tried to treat her knee first but knew she was going to have to wash out properly when she got back home. It didn’t seem bad enough to cut the walk short but it did put a damper on her mood a bit. So much for happy thoughts. Still she was trying to make today a good day so she stood back up and scooped up Foxfire trying to keep going today. She was glad her pokemon were ok even if she was feeling sore. Though a few more of those kinds of falls and she would have to cut her trip short. She only had so many Band-Aids on her and honestly even just standing she could feel it throb a bit which was rather annoying.

Moving slowly may have actually been to her advantage. Tanaka and Tea Leaf were over a short ways chasing each other leaving Wren, Foxfire and Herb to walk and spot a group of N. Scatterbug. Wren already knew they were a fairly aggressive species if surprised so she pulled out the quick ball from earlier and chucked it at the lot managing to catch one while all the rest scattered as their one friend disappeared in front of them. Taking a breath Wren smiled and moved forward and squatted down grabbing the ball and trying not to upset Foxfire who seemed to think she might be falling again. Her knee was certainly complaining but she wasn’t falling and she soothed him as she stood back up. The shroomish was so serious but that was nice in her mind since she didn’t have to end up chasing them around like she did with Tanaka. She was glad she could at least say she had done something with her walk. It was a nice little bonus to her walk as if it was karma for the fall and the miss earlier. She looked around making sure she could keep all her Pokémon in sight and had to head toward Tanaka and Tea leaf as she didn’t want them to be to far from her. She called out loudly for them and they started to race toward her at a high speed. She realized they might run into her so she took a step or two to the side to avoid it just in case.

Stepping to the side she was surprised to find a small nest with some baby pidove and she wasn’t sure if it was the parents or the older siblings, but part of the flock wasn’t happy about it. Curling her hands to her chest she wanted to protect Foxfire scared they might get hurt. Tanaka who was already on his way over immediately went into action leaping and clamping down on a Pokémon near her. Wren backed up as Tea Leaf worked on hassling another, but Tanaka was the real MVP of the battle taking down a pidove all by himself. Taking out a net ball as her Pokémon had gotten the situation under control Wren threw it at the pidove that Tanaka had gone after. Tea Leaf must have thought it was fetch time as they grabbed it and brought it back while Wren grabbed Tanaka under and arm while holding Foxfire still in her other and moved away from the angry nest of Pokémon. Herb avoided the battle all together which was a good thing as Wren was pretty sure a whole flock of pidove would have taken it out. Taking time to regroup it took Wren a moment to realize that Tea Leaf had gotten the ball for her so she didn’t have to sneak back for it. Breathing a huge sigh of relief she had to think back if she ever had a walk this successful for Pokémon catching and she couldn’t recall so off hand but she thought this might be the best walk even it was painful. Tanaka was certainly getting a work out. She set the wriggler down and checked over everyone. No one seemed worse for the wear thankfully. She put the new pokeball in her bag with the other. She supposed she might as well test her luck and see about maybe going a littler further today.
