They were around the river and making good time back. “You have a bad outing this time but it allows you to prepare better for the next one.” She was thinking she might need to bring a bug swatter or perhaps a raincoat. Yes something that would stop a bug dropping on her. Either way after the bugs she was actually glad to be heading back as well.

Wren felt a tugging on her pack and turned to look at what she had snagged on only to see a N. Wurmple tugging at her bag. “Tanaka!” She pulled hard on her bag wrenching it free while Tanaka went to battle. She was surprised when the bug used a string shot and Tanaka was all tangled up leaving him easy prey for a headbutt. Tanaka took the full force of the blow. It was clear he was hurt quite a lot. Physically throwing her bag at the wurmple to scare it off she scooped up Tanaka and grabbed her heavy bag annoyed with all the things she had brought along this time as it only added to the weight. She hurried up to Haven who was on guard looking for other pokemon. Putting Tanaka back into a pokeball she pulled out foxfire.

Haven wasn’t able to help Miss Taurëore as she was surprised seeing a Chinchou who she quickly threw a pokeball at. It took a moment to catch it and Haven had to walk over and dig the ball out of the mud on the bank. “Whew.” I got one. She held up a pokeball and saw Miss Taurëore with a shroomish out rather then the totodile and she looked upset. She wasn’t sure what had happened while she had been focused on her own event. “Lets keep going.” She wasn’t going to pry if the other didn’t offer.

Wren was ready to get home and get her Pokémon treated. She saw Haven digging up a ball from the muk. It seemed she had been battling as well so that explained why the nidoran hadn’t come to the assist before like it had before. “Yes lets get back.”

Haven felt something drop on her head and in her mind she started to scream. On the outside her body stiffened quickly and she felt the Pokémon on her head move. Every fiber of her being prayed it was something not a bug. She didn’t care just not a bug. She reached up and tugged it off looking at a bug. She didn’t even notice what kind and just dropped it. She couldn’t even scream out loud but her body was stiffening. But then she hopped back as it moved toward her feet. “Dow!” She called to her nidoran to help take on the horror she had. Normally she could stand to sit and keep an eye on a bug and not panic but it dropped on her head! Dow attacked with a headbutt and hit it hard. Haven fumbled with a pokeball and tossed it at the pokemon. But she had been so shaken she missed badly. The bug had a chance and escaped of course.

Both trainers exhausted and very very sick of bugs returned back home and had reports to write up about their trip and experience as well as get the photos and notes in.
