Keir started in this shop but has grown to become an OC with a dark past. Shop canon is the more shop-appropriate version, while headcanon is his true past outside the shop.

WARNING: Keir is an aggressive, territorial dragon; his past is quite dark and will be kept under a spoiler.

Keir has a farm where he mainly grows and cares for pumpkins; he owns his own farm but sells his services as a farmhand to those in need who are not able-bodied. He is known for being mute, though whether by choice or not, no one actually knows. He is polite, giving simple nods and hums as answers, usually writing in the dirt with his claw to speak if strictly necessary, and works diligently, with the only person ever able to hear his true voice being his wife, Alicen.

However, Keir has been skeptical of teenagers, serving as a coming-of-age test, so to speak, to prove they are brave every year around Halloween. Usually, the test is to steal a pumpkin or smash one. Smashing pumpkins angers Keir; with already deep-seated anger, provoking him can be quite dangerous, leading to blackout rampages.

Head cannon: This is not cannon to shop- This is his true out of shop lore
Originally, back around the time of the Salem witch trials when practicing paganism was fatal to women accused of witchcraft, Keir worked on his parents' farm along with his sister. His sister was being pursued by a man who was the brother of his then-fiancée. He had been pursuing Keir's sister romantically, but she had always refused.

One day he got tired of her refusing him and vowed to make her pay, which led to his sister being accused of being a witch and burned at the stake. Keir and his parents were devastated. Keir sought revenge for his sister and ended up getting the man alone, prepared to shoot him for causing his sister's death. But as he went to shoot, his fiancée ran out to try to stop him, but he had already fired before he could stop himself. This led to Keir killing her and further sending him into a mental spiral. He then repeatedly shot the man as he laughed in his face.

However, his actions had consequences; with Keir enraged and full of sorrow, he vowed to seek revenge on the town that condemned his sister to burn. He went on a killing spree, handling everyone and anyone who had a hand in his sister's death, but eventually Keir was caught and was beheaded by authorities.

Many years later, Keir was revived by a witch who had always dabbled in more forbidden magic, leading her to have a monstrous appearance. Her name was Stitches. She had found the skull of Keir and the remaining bones of his sister. Using her special ability to imbue souls into inanimate objects, she built Keir the body of a pumpkin dragon, with a carved wooden body and sharp claws to defend his territory, and a pumpkin head to replace the one he had lost, which was imbued with his original skull. Stitches then helped him and his sister get used to their new lives, becoming like a second mother to him. Stitches helped him reobtain his family's old farm from auctions, and he went back to working on it, aiding her in creating pumpkins for spells and what she called spritelings: pumpkins with souls she used to help find lost children. This is why Keir had become so protective over his pumpkin fields, always worried these small souls would be destroyed by foolish teenagers.

Hundreds of years after his death, Keir was working in the fields one late summer morning when he spotted a black cat on his pumpkins. Frustrated, time and time again Keir would move this black cat off his pumpkins for fear that they would get damaged. Little did Keir know that this was no ordinary cat, but the cat familiar of a Baba Yaga long since gone. Her name was Alicean. She was a beast woman shifter and, unknown to Keir, she had been secretly sneaking into his farm to help weed his fields; she had been watching him all along and wanted to help. Eventually, one morning when he was tired, he went out to feed his own cat, Echo, and mistook her for his own cat, the difference being their eye colors—Echo had golden eyes whereas Alicean had green ones. He brought her inside to feed her, letting her eat, and then took her to the couch with him, where he began to pet her and fell asleep. Eventually, Keir realized his mistake and set her free, warning her not to sunbathe on his pumpkins again, still unknowing that this was no mere cat. Days passed and he continued to remove her from his pumpkins, but one day he caught her in her humanoid state weeding his pumpkin patch, and he became furious that a stranger was in his territory. But over time, the two began to bond and Keir grew fond of this beast woman, leading to them sharing a kiss in the rain; the two have been inseparable ever since.
