IT for forum tabletop games?

It came up recently about needing meaningful ways to earn credits, so what if I (or someone else?) was to host forum versions of tabletop games?
Over on Wajas we've been playing werewolf/mafia and clue on the forums. Betrayal at the House on the Hill could be fun, I think.
But obviously this all falls apart without players so feel free to offer your input or just react to the post if you're interested in playing.

One of my fave board games is Cluedo, I'm curious to hear how it is played out on forums, and I've been interested in trying House on the Hill in general ... so can you tell me more about how that's played too?

So disclaimer that I've never played actual Clue, so idk how it compares to the forum version we're playing. XD
But the game master drew up a map with 5 locations to investigate and 1 central point at which to make accusations.
Picked 7 potential weapons and 6 suspects.
Players use the suspects as tokens for the game.
The GM privately messaged each player 3 "cards" that correlate to one of the locations, items, or suspects which means that's not what was used.
At the start of the player's turn, they roll a d6. Then they can move that many spaces.
If they manage to reach an entrance to one of the investigatable locations, they can ask the next player in the turn order if that next player has seen (suspect) at (location they're at) with (weapon).
If one of those matches one of Player B's clue cards, then they dm Player A one of the cards.
If none of them match, then it moves down the turn order to Player C, D, etc.
Once someone is sure they know the exact crime, they go to the central location and make their accusation.

As far as Betrayal, it's more of a spooky exploration type game? It would have a lot of room for rp i think. 0:
The basic premise is that a group of people end up at this mansion and once they're in, they can't leave until the game ends. There are 3 floors in the base game, 4 with the expansion pack. Everyone starts on the ground floor and the only rooms that exist at the start are like the ground floor lobby, and each other floor's landing.
Players have stats that determine how far they may move each turn among other things.
For the first phase of the game, the goal is to explore and expand the house.
When a player discovers a new room, they will encounter either an event, an item, or an omen. This will end their turn.
Events can be a variety of things, stat checks, discovering hidden passages, buffs. Just to cover a few off the top of my head.
Items are pretty self explanatory. There's a wide variety of them with different uses.
Omens are generally like items, but a few are more event-like. Whenever a new omen is discovered, a haunt roll must be made.
A haunt roll is from 0-12 and if you roll equal to or higher than the number of omens in play, then nothing happens. It you roll lower, then the haunt begins.
The haunt is the second phase of the game. Players may die during this phase. One person is selected to be the traitor, usually, but not always, the haunt revealer. Every haunt is different and has different win conditions so it's hard to fully summarize them. o:
Which one you get is determined by which omen you got in which room.
I think that covers the basic gist of it, but feel free to ask questions. I know I'm not the best at explanations. XD

I think tabletop games on forums would be fun - there's a few variants of things like this and things like uhhhhhh . . . how do you put it - they played them on MSPA forums and also on the Dwarf Fortress forums, basically evolution games (which is basically a GM running a world wherein each turn players' creatures change/evolve and they use dice to determine how successful they are, with 'reasonable' or smart evolutions getting bonuses). 😂 There's also just good old forum adventures / loose TTRPG stuff (maybe not full on D&D, but something simpler like simple 6s or WARP) that could be fun, but I think forumizing a board game would be awesome.
