[MRP - Stage Two] I KNEW IT! (Poveglia)

Joshuality

Grizzled Veteran

Angry, annoyed, irked, displeased- all of these words could be used to describe how Poveglia felt right about now. How dare they remove Poveglia from the house just as something good was happening! They were standing right in front of irrefutable evidence! Downright unquestionable proof! It just wasn't fair! The whole reason Poveglia had been so excited to come to that old house in the first place was to search for some verification of the existence of ghosts/the afterlife. Now? They felt conned. When everything had been going down at the house, Poveglia tried their hardest to stay back and watch. Their attempts were thwarted by staff and customer alike, all pushing and shoving until they were off the premises.

"I don't like it, Obvy, not one bit. For once I get the chance to get some real evidence- and they shove me out and try to say it was part of the show? Please." Poveglia snorted, talking in a hushed tone to their tail. They were standing just outside, watching as workers herded the last few stragglers out. "Those circus ponies aren't fooling anypony, I know the look of true confusion and fear when I see it. That Alastor has some real explaining to do, and I won't rest until I can get back in there."

For now, though, it seemed Poveglia was going to be stuck on the outside looking in. Any attempt they made at even getting close to the house and it's doors were met with circus staff shooing them away. Even their attempts at lying and scheming their way inside were met with failure. "No luck, again," They sighed. "I guess I don't quite strike them as hired help..." What they needed was a new plan. Hopefully one that didn't include them getting spotted. Turning, Poveglia surveyed their surroundings.

The other festivities of the circus remained alight and bustling with the vibes of the Night of Frights. It was as if the other ponies who were in there as it happened were completely satisfied with the excuse of it all just being 'part of the show'! Poveglia was not so easily fooled. No way, no how. Definitely not after witnessing such concrete evidence firsthoof. Ponies just don't phase through other ponies, no matter what sort of magic is at play.

"I have an idea." Poveglia said suddenly. They whipped around to view the house again, eyes scanning the windows for anything out of the ordinary. Well, to be fair, a lot of it was, but Poveglia needed to see deeper. Cracks, flaws, something that would indicate easy access. "There," They pointed toward a window on the second floor. "That's our in."

Standing by just long enough to see that the ponies of the house weren't looking, Poveglia then carefully fluttered up toward the window in question. Slowly but surely, they inched the window open- just wide enough to fit their forelegs through (which they did), and then popped their head into the room. They were only unnoticed long enough to glance around the room and see lots of different screens. Immediately after, they were met with gasps and shouts of "Hey!" and "Get outta here!" Poveglia felt themself being tugged from behind, and turned to see another circus staff pulling them out. Together, the two fluttered back down to the ground. The window slammed shut above them.

"I-" Poveglia started. The stallion held up a hoof, stopping them. Poveglia hung their head in shame, ears drooping while the stallion escorted them away from the house again. Today, it seemed, was just not their night.
