While ACBC has never been a heavily RP-oriented shop, we've decided we would like to offer benefits for those that do want to get into plotting and roleplaying. This sort of character building and interaction can help create friendships and community, after all, and besides - we love our citizens; don't you? Yet we know it's hard to devote time to working on projects without a little motivation, so we hope that these potential prizes will give you that bump to start delving deeper into the world of Big City!

With that, we'd like to introduce you to Participation Points. These are separate from our bot-oriented currency in the Discord; unlike Big City Coins, these can't be used for game functions, nor can they be transferred to other users. However, they can be used for special things unavailable elsewhere in the shop! Most of these are centered around things to make your citizen more unique to how you envision them, though not all. If you're interested, keep reading below!

Before we get into the hows and whys, let's have a look at what you can earn!

Please note, while these prizes are generally available to most citizens, there are a couple of caveats. The original colorist may not be the one filling your request, and if a file is missing, it may not be able to be filled at all. These are noted where appropriate!

See It On Your Face: 30 PP
This allows you to replace your citizen's expression with one more befitting their personality! This will not change your citizen's eye color, shape, number of eyes, etc, but will give them a new face with whatever mood, emotion, or specific expression you desire.

Shopping Trip: 50 PP
This will replace your citizen's clothes with a new pattern or color. Please note: this can only change the color of the clothes they are already wearing; citizens with unedited clothes will always be able to get this service, but those with custom clothes must have a PSD available from the original colorist.

Starlight Wish: 50 PP
There's just something about the light of a shooting star that makes wishes feel more intense, and it's no different when dealing with Big City's Well. This item ensures a wish is truly heart felt, guaranteeing that the wishes made by your citizens affect the outcome. Please note that exactly how the wish is affected is still up to the designer!

Accessorize!: 75 PP
Give your citizen a sparkly new accessory! This will be a new edit of your choice, though it must be an article of clothing or other item, not a new body edit (such as a differently shaped tail). Citizens receiving this service may have their edit level bumped up, but it may only go up one step, no matter how many times it is done - i.e., an unedited citizen can only become a light edit citizen, even if they slowly add on more pieces over time. This only covers single items and may not be used to request an entire outfit at one time, though you may redeem it multiple times at once to do so if you'd like!

Best Friends Forever: 100 PP
Does your citizen need a companion? This will let you get one of your choice! You'll get a semi-custom pet with this order. Please note, you must choose from available species!

Fresh Companionship: 300 PP
Does your citizen need a friend? Turn this in for a semi-custom citizen; you may choose from three races and provide a palette or other inspiration image, and one of our talented designers will create a brand new cit just for you.

Games and Events: ??? PP
Sometimes, there may be games or events like flatsales, raffles, auctions, or the like which rely on PP as currency or entry fees. There's no telling how much these will cost, but it might be a good idea to hang on to a few just in case!

The first way you can earn PP is by roleplaying and writing. ​

The method for this is simple; using the word count listed at the top right of every post, you get one (1) point per 50 words turned in! However, there's a couple of things to note:

First, you must post in a thread in order to claim your points. If you want to post a log from Discord or somewhere else, that's fine, but each user must paste their parts separately in order to have individual word counts. This gets you credits anyway, so it's not too bad, right?

Secondly, the above rate only counts for roleplays with more than one player - not citizen but human writer. If you are writing solos, you will only get one (1) point per 80 words, in order to encourage community interaction.

Finally, a roleplay must be completed before it can be turned in. Once a thread is turned in, it will be locked; it won't be deleted, so you'll still have access to it, but you won't be able to add to it or edit it any longer. To avoid abandonment problems, however, if it has been over two weeks since a post and it is not your turn, you may turn in a thread as abandoned and claim the points for it as long as you made at least three posts in the thread total. This will still get the thread locked, so make sure it's really abandoned before you request it!

The second way you can earn PP is by creating art! ​

Unfortunately, art takes different amounts of time per person; what takes one person five minutes may take another fifty. The best we've come up with is that it must be obvious some effort was taken with your art, and for each layer of "something" that is apparent in it, you will gain more points.

We do not accept headshots or busts for PP submission; at least one citizen in your image should be thighs up minimum, and any additional citz counted need to be no less than waist-up visibility for bonus points. No dice trying to game the system by adding someone's paw in the frame!

You can earn for:

Clean lines/edges: +3PP
Colors: +2PP
Shading: +2PP
Detailed background: +3PP
Other peoples' Citz: +2PP per cit

Please note, unless you have no citizens, your artwork must include one of your own citizens as well as part of the participation encouragement. So get out there and plot some ideas if you'd like to get the other citz bonus!

The third way you can earn PP is by filling out profiles for your citizens! ​

We don't have a preset form requirement - you can organize those how you'd like! - but we do have generalized sections you can include. For each section you include, you'll get the set amount of points, but please note, this is once per citizen! We'll be keeping tabs on which citz have been submitted, so no double dipping. However, if you update a profile to include a section you didn't include initially, you can submit an update to gain just those extra points.

The sections are:

Basic information: +1PP
Includes at the very minimum the citizen's name and either image or an icon you've created, but also covers at-a-glance information like gender/pronouns, orientation, and occupation.

Likes and dislikes: +1PP or +2PP
A basic summary of 2-5 likes/dislikes in a list will net you 1PP. A more in-depth listing with at least four sections, nets you 2PP instead. Some suggestions for this area are things like favorite colors and foods, movies and television shows they enjoy, favorite books, phobias, fears, hobbies, etc. Any little sort of information that can be jotted down in a list format.

Education and occupation: +1PP or +2PP
A simple listing of their education history and occupation will net you 1PP. If you take the time to write out a little more detail and explain what they do and why in a minimum of three sentences, you will get 2PP.

Personality: +1PP or +3PP
You can simply list 2-3 positive and negative personality traits to gain 1PP. You may also either write a paragraph about the citizen or organize explained strengths and weaknesses (i.e., one word strength/weakness with an explanation of it, with a minimum of two strengths and two weaknesses) for 3PP instead.

Place in the world: +1PP or +2PP or +4PP
You may make a simple list of citizens your citizen knows and their relationship to one another and link to their profiles (either in an apartment or on the site!) for 1PP. You may write a paragraph about your citizen's history and/or current life and lifestyle for 2PP. If you do both, you may claim 4PP, but please note your citizen must know at least two others in order to claim any relationship bonus.

Hopes and dreams: +1PP
An overview of what your citizen wants out of life, things they hope for, or desires they hold dear in their heart will gain you 1PP. This may not be simple one or two word answers ("food, world peace"), but must at minimum be partially constructed sentences ("To gain control over the cupcake industry") if not entire descriptions ("Bob wants to be the head of his own cult, one day.").
