(Branchtail could've hit for 5 damage, but is instead stalling to see what Talonfang would prefer to do with this trespasser instead!)

Branchtail had to admit, Talonfang, one of the younger warriors in TreeClan, was starting to grow on him. Enough so that Branchtail was okay with prolonging his move into the Elders Den. He wanted to get to know the younger tom better - he reminded Branchtail a bit about how he had been, before the move down the mountain and the split from StoneClan to TreeClan.

So, he'd invited Talonfang out on a patrol with him.
"Just a border patrol - not by StoneClan's borders, but on the other side." He'd said and brought it up again in the trees. "StoneClan hasn't tried anything in the seasons that TreeClan has been here, I doubt they'd try to make trouble for us now." He paused and then added. "If anything, I bet it would be Skysong's doing. Sunseer's a mouseheart when it comes to doing anything that could cause conflict for anyone, but Skysong... she has the determination and drive enough that if she decided to wage war on TreeClan - for any reason that she found rational - she very well could do it." He glanced up at the sun above, reflecting on the leadership duo that he'd left to follow Sunflight and Riversong instead. "It's been so long since the split now... I wonder if Sunseer is even still alive. I suppose we'll know when cats come prowling into our camp." He added with a dry smile.

Branchtail's life in MountainClan had been solely focused on his own survival - and with Nutpelt, as they traveled down the mountain, so he had only seen Skysong as a she-cat who was willing to do anything, even make the hard choices when no cat else wanted to, to protect her Clanmates. Such devotion to a Clan could make a cat very dangerous, especially someone who was fated to be the next leader.

Following the stretching branches of their territory, he was leading the way to the otherwise of the territory, away from the river, when a breeze from down below brushed its way up the tree and he paused midstep, the branch swaying at his sudden halt. Eugh, maybe he shouldn't be up in the trees at his age, but more importantly.

"Talonfang," He mewed softly. "It seems like we might have some excitement after all. There's a fresh scent of rogue - do you smell it?" He asked and then. "How do you want to go about this? Chasing or..." His eyes glinted.
"Something more permanent?" @Blinded By Silence

If you were to ask the fluffed-up, spurs-out young tom, Talonfang, elders needed to sit down and get out of the way. They had their time in the sun, now it was his turn. Why was he hanging around Branchtail, then? Well, nosy reader, he'd tell you to shove off.

He'd accepted the invitation with a groan, "Man, I wish they would. If I caught anycat lookin' at our land sideways, I'd give'm fresh stripes." The young tom is probably a bit too eager to get his claws in something, but he didn't feel a need to bite his tongue around the old man. He was cool. "Ha," The tom gave a toothy grin, and gave Branchtail a playful nudge as he moves ahead, "The old stoneheart'd look good with some stripes, yeah?" Talonfang didn't have the experience to truly comment on his past leaders, he'd been too young to really care about much more than the excitement of adventure. But he was old enough to know a pretty she-cat when he saw one. Even if she was past her prime.

But his comments would have to wait; the wind had shifted. He felt his claws slide out of their sheaths and dig deep into the bark of the branch beneath them. Talonfang's green eyes flashed as he looked back at the old tom, his grin widening.

"Yer speakin' my language, old man. Let's get'm."

Patience wasn't Talon's strong suit. There was no waiting for confirmation. He looked down with eyes that held a vicious hunger, spotted his prey and pushed off the branch, claws out and yowling. Should have kept his mouth shut, though. Maybe then he would have caught the beast.

(The loner misses its attack on Branchtail!)

The loner had heard of cats living in the trees, which sounded crazy enough, but he didn't actually think that they were any sort of hostile. Any cat who lived in the trees had to be too scared of the ground to come down and fight. Or so he had been thinking when one tomcat dropped out of the sky to face him.

Tail bushing out in panic and haunches rising, he swiped out a paw with claws extended, and missed entirely. Foxdung!

(Branchtail misses his attack on the loner!)

Branchtail had been so excited to show off his skills to Talonfang, but he was old and he had to admit it even to himself these days. He threw himself off the branch, making to land on the loner like he used to do when he was younger, but he fell, rather than jumped gracefully. He landed with a thud, winded, but was dragging himself up to his paws. The loner had attacked him first, or tried to. Now it was Branchtail's turn, but SunClan, he was so dizzy. He took a half-hearted swipe at the loner and of course he missed. He blinked, trying to clear his vision and called up to his Clanmate.

"Alright, Talonfang, time to show this intruder what TreeClan's might looks like!"

Talonfang didn't need to be told twice. Muscles tensed and released as he sprung, dagger sharp claws extended and ready to grab this tresspasser. But the rogue had the same idea, it seemed, and the two sailed passed each other with a bowl of frustration.

(The loner hits Talonfang for 5 damage!)

The loner tomcat only had to take one look at the brown and white tabby to realize that he was an elder who wouldn't be able to attack him if he tried. He snorted derisively and then turned to the other, younger cat. Now that they were both on the ground level with him, he felt more confident, so he pounced on the black and orange tomcat, wrestling with him, claws and fangs tearing wherever they could into his opponent.

Battle Notice!

One or more of the cats in this patrol is at half their HP or lower! You may now choose as a group whether you wish to proceed with this patrol and fight the loner until their demise, in which you run the risk of entering cats into a Death Raffle if their HP hits 0, but have the option of having any survivors be entered for patrol exclusive scars OR to chase off your enemy, which will ensure that no cat runs the risk of dying in this patrol.

Please vote below on whether you would like to continue the patrol at the risk of your cats

or

you would prefer to chase off your enemy.

If one person chooses to chase off the enemy, that will be the decided option.

(Branchtail hits the loner for 5 damage!)

Branchtail looked on in dismay when the loner launched himself at Talonfang - well, they couldn't have that now, could they. He rushed in to join the fray. Trying to avoid kicking back legs, swinging front paws and biting teeth, he grasped the loner's tail in his teeth and began to pull it back, hoping to get the loner off of Talonfang so his Clanmate could attack - or to draw the attention of the loner to himself, instead.

Talonfang howled in anger as the loner latched on to him. He wasn't about to let this untrained foxheart get the better of him! He was a Warrior!

As Branchtail pulled the other cat's tail, and the loner bowled, lifing their head for the briefest of moments. But that was all Talon needed. He leapt at the opportunity, sinking his teeth deep into the cat's throat, holding firm despite its struggles. Panting past the blood that filled his mouth, he didn't let go until the cat fell limp against him.

The loner has been defeated!

Talonfang has delivered the final blow to this loner and thus it is dead!

Congratulations! You've made it to the end of this patrol without any causalities! It got pretty close there towards the end, so give yourselves a pat on the back that your cats will live another day!

Branchtail and Talongfang will be entered into the Scar Raffle! If you choose to edit your posts in with RP replies then you may use this RP for a DP point as well!

When you are finished entering RP replies into the thread, please tag your Patrol as [PATROL-FIN]. Once your patrol has this header tag, you may not post any more in this thread.

If you do not wish any of your above mentioned cats to be entered into the Scar Raffle, please specify below.

Branchtail looked at Talonfang as the loner went limp. He let go of the loner's tail - no point in trying to sling around a body, and moved over to his Clanmate.
"Well done! That could've gone smoother for me," He said, wincing as he picked up a hind leg which throbbed. He must've landed on it badly. "But you, you did very well." He looked at the body of the loner and wrinkled his nose. "We don't need any foxes tracking this thing into our camp. Let's take it out towards the border, opposite StoneClan. StoneClan already knows not to mess with us, but we'd best leave this as a warning to any loners who want to pull the same stunt this tom did." A pause and then a thought of the cats, of his mate and kits, at home.

"Or... we could just bury him now, if you'd prefer." He offered. Let Talonfang be the one to decide, Branchtail thought. That way, whatever was decided wouldn't really be entirely Branchtail's fault, right?

He shoved the weakling off of him with an indignant hiss, blood spraying off his lips. He stood, shook out his fur.

"Ya did just fine, fer a grey-pelt," He said giving Branchtail a cocktail grin that turned to a look of disgust as he spat a clot onto the dead cats pelt. "He ain't worth burying on our land. Leave'm out fer the other's, a message or whatever. Or the crows, whichever."

Branchtail's whiskers twitched, but he rolled his eyes at Talonfang's comment.
"I can hardly wait for the day I grow to see you with grey fur etched in your pelt. Then I'll be the one to condescend to you, furball." He replied and moved to the warrior's side, staring down at the body of the loner. "Oh, my old bones can't support this body, as I'm sure you'll have guessed." He said with a grin. "What say, you carry him to the next border and we dump him. When we get back to camp, I'll groom the blood tangles out of your fur." He offered. "Nutpelt tends to help me with such things, but since you've yet to settle down, I'll do you a favor this once." He added, but narrowed his eyes and smirked, playfully, at Talonfang. "Though I am curious to know why you haven't found a lady love." A pause. "Or any other sort of love, for that matter."

There were plenty of she-cats in TreeClan who took on she-cat mates. He'd never really considered it, but maybe tomcats could be inclined towards tomcats too.

"Tch, ain't gonna happen," He scoffed, throwing the old tom a look over his shoulder, "Ain't never gonna let myself get as old as you. My kin burn bright an' fast, an' I'ma follow." He gives Branchtail a cocky grin as he effortlessly shifts the dead intruder onto his strong shoulders, "Sure ya remember it, ya been around since 'fore the sun itself. Mah pops took out an eagle, he an' his patrol. Died fer it, but the whole clan got a bite'a that bird."

At the comment on his love life, Talon turns and starts walking towards the border. "I get all the tail I want, ol' man, ya need'nt worry 'bout that." He said with his chest puffed out, though his tail hung low. It wasn't true, but Talonfang pretended it didn't matter. His parents had died so young and so had his mentor. He'd spent much of his young life chasing the shadow of his father, trying to prove that he was worth the mouth to feed. He shifted the dead cat's weight, "Settlin's fer old folk. Dun wanna leave a trail of tears when I go out like'a hero, yaknow?"
