(Rolling for Snarlpaw, now with a dice involved!

Snarlpaw does 5 damage to the goose!)

Snarlpaw was an adult cat who could fight and hunt for herself - she'd been a loner for goodness sake? Yet when she came to join StoneClan, even professing all of her skills to the leader, Sunseer, he still insisted that she be a youngling - a paw, they called it or an apprentice. She was more than a paw! She was an entire cat! But she understood that to play along, to play family with the Clan meant to take on their silly extra name and learn about their SunClan cats in the sky - cats who would look down on them and bless the living with blindness. Some miracle, feh!

She was keen to prove herself to their leader, Sunseer, but it was hard to get him alone. He always had his silver shadow, Skysong, with him. Skysong was a handsome she-cat, but she was harder than the stone that the Clan carved into the cliffside. It would be hard to prove herself to Skysong, but proving herself to an elderly, blind tomcat? That might come easier.

She couldn't believe her luck when she was taken on a hunting patrol that separated Skysong from Sunseer. She suspected Sunseer had been the one to organize it himself and they weren't going too far from the camp even so. The patrol consisted of herself, Sunseer and a senior warrior named Dandelionclaw. They were only travelling down the river, likely to fish. Yet, when they arrived at their location, something came screaming out at them from the other side of the river. Snarlpaw's fur bristled and she yowled back at it, identifying it as a large duck, but not anything beyond it. Not waiting for the commands of her patrol mates, she launched herself at the feathered fiend and slashed her claws against its chest. SunClan, they had a blind cat and a senior with them - what were creaky legs going to do against this hissing creature?! Did this mean she had to fight it all by herself? Her eyes lit with delight.

"When I best this beast, leader of StoneClan, you shall have to make me a warrior on the spot!" She announced, springing back and out of the range of its beak.

(Dandelionclaw misses his attack!)

Dandelionclaw was looking to volunteer for a patrol and when he'd approached his leaders, he certainly hadn't expected that his leader would be going out with him. Skysong came along to patrols, often leading them, and sometimes Sunseer would go along with patrols when Skysong was there, but he wasn't expecting them to be apart. He tried to remember the last time that he had been around Sunseer without Skysong being within eyesight and for the life of him, he couldn't.

"Well, this is refreshing," He was saying to Sunseer as they were leaving the camp. "Fancied a spot of fishing solo today?" He wasn't keeping a close eye on Snarlpaw, the apprentice who had been assigned to come with them, but when he heard the shrieking commotion of a hissing, honking goose, he raised his head immediately. "Snarlpaw, stay ba-" He started, but she was already engaging with the territorial beast. Geese generally could be avoided, you just kept out of their side of the river. With this one being so aggravated, he suspected a nest nearby. They could've just gone the other way, but the former loner was apparently too stupid to think about the safety of their leader. Skysong would never let Sunseer out of her sight if he got hurt here?

"Sunseer, stay back here. I need to go help Snarlpaw and you..." He couldn't tell the leader to his face that he'd be a hinderance in battle. "We warriors live to protect our leader." He concluded, before rushing up to help the pesky apprentice. He took a swipe at the goose, but its lithe neck swerved out of the way, dodging him. Rats!

Sunseer was feeling very good about today. He was on the up and up again. He had a new apprentice. His deputy was giving him space to stretch his paws and his daughter was only unhappy about it if he asked. He was fine.

"Mm, yes. Feels like a wonderful day for fishing," Sunseer smiled back at Dandelionclaw. He didn't much care for fish, but he did enjoy the fact that he could hunt them even without his eyes. It required a lot of patience, mind. And very wet fur. But it was worth it to be able to contribute.

"So long as we stay away from--" The goose nest... He frowned. Weren't his patrols communicating with one another? This should have been noted days ago. He'd have a word with Skysong about it when they got back, of course, this part of the river would be off-limits for well over a moon.

The old tom stepped forward, ready to run in and defend the bold young cat who had angered the honking beast, but his Warrior stopped him.

"Stay...?" He threw an incredulous look after the sound of Dandelion's rushing paws. He felt his fur stand on end, hot anger making him bear his fangs. Ears swiveled, tracking the movement of the creature and his cats. The scent of blood caught his nose. He sank low into position, his long tail hovering just above the stony shore.

He was their leader. He didn't make his way down the mountain, travel for moons, lose everything just to be pitied.

Sunseer crept up behind the squawking goose, quickly attempted to judge his distance and leaped, throwing his weight into the body of the bird. Feeling the wing beneath him, he latched on with sharp claws and sank his fangs in deep.

"And your leader," He growled, spitting blood and feathers, "Lives to protect you."

Battle Notice!

One or more of the cats in this patrol is at half their HP or lower! You may now choose as a group whether you wish to proceed with this patrol and fight the goose until its demise, in which you run the risk of entering cats into a Death Raffle if their HP hits 0, but have the option of having any survivors be entered for patrol exclusive scars OR to chase off your enemy, which will ensure that no cat runs the risk of dying in this patrol.

Please vote below on whether you would like to continue the patrol at the risk of your cats

or

you would prefer to chase off your enemy.

If one person chooses to chase off the enemy, that will be the decided option.
