Symphony was long used to the emptiness that came with living in Lost Town. Not many ponies came to travel along the roads - not thanks to the rumors that other Fall's Harvest locals had spread. For as many long years as Symphony had lived in the town, he had never once seen the ominous shadows of the rumors around this place. Instead, he found charred and broken homes. The homes with roofs still had a layer of ash lining the floors, where ones with open ceilings had their remains scattered like fallen leaves. Symphony didn't disturb the resting places of these houses - he meant no disrespect to anyone who had once lived here. His job was not to scavenge through what remained, no... To Symphony, his job was one much more important.

It was well known that sulis were connected to nature and had the ability to make flora flourish more easily. While communities of suli usually saw especially wonderful blossoms in their habitats, Symphony was the only one in Lost Town. Rather, he was the only one that stayed. He'd come after the fire, his own pelt just as dark as the woods around him and had started to nurture what remained back to a full and plentiful life. Wildflowers poked their buds out of the firm ground and trees began to show greenery on previously barren branches. Why, there were even the remains of vegetable and fruit seeds that had survived the fire, which were indeed beginning to bear fruit. Of course, there was always more work to be done.

Symphony's largest garden was centered around the home he'd chosen for himself - the upstairs of the old opera house. He had started to build a plant nursery out in the back when he first arrived, only to realize that he could grow flora up through the floor boards so the opera house had turned into a green house of sorts instead. There were other houses and alleyways, streets and gardens that he tended to. Symphony had such a system in place, such a desire to see the flora and greenery return to this charred, dismal town, that he never went outside of the town limits. He was used to the sounds of the wind whistling through the town and he would occasionally sing just to fill the air with some semblance of noise. Still, even with the plants as such excellent company... even a natural loner like Symphony tended to get a little lonely from time to time.

In fact, that dreary, misty morning was one of those times. He woke up feeling some oppressive mood hanging over him - it must be the weather. He thought. It always feels different in the fog. He struck up a tune, humming it softly as he got up and stretched, before picking up his watering can and moving with it downstairs, humming the way down to the ground floor and waltzing carefully around any vines or plants that may have proven themselves to be a tripping hazard. He couldn't allow his mood to affect him - lest it affect the flowers he was trying to tend to. Besides, the weather in Lost Town was unpredictable, he told himself. Surely the sun would be out soon enough and he would feel better. Something had to happen today to improve his mood, surely? @Absolutiones
